The resort and rooms are just as pictured but are a little dated.Our unit was on the side of the public beach and on the bottom floor so it wasnt comfortable sitting on the patio. We only had a couple of other issues. The air conditioner leaked and there was a leak on the patio that made a standing pool of water, so we were unable to enjoy the patio because of that and the people right outside the patio door. Any rooms up higher or on the other side or in the middle would be great.

The ac is in the bedroom is making a very bad sound every couple of minutes. The patio floor is bad. I almost cut myself.

Quaint property, we stayed a week- felt like a lived in but clean home. There was a cockroach but it was as clean as it could be other than that. The pool was nice - access to beach. Pool key didn't work on all gates - the parking levels are nice and all the people at the property we talked to were nice and helpful from double checking our reservation to checking out. 9/10 would stay there again

We enjoyed a 9 night stay at the Kona Reef Resort and had the best stay! The property is beautiful and very clean! The rooms were very updated, spacious, and clean. The property is very well maintained and has an awesome pool, hot tub, and grill area with 4 gas grills to use all overlooking the ocean a d plenty of onsite parking. The units have all the necessary amenities for any length of stay including a full kitchen, washer and dryer, maid service with fresh towels and toiletries thoughout our stay and a beautiful Lani to sit on overlooking the ocean. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone. You cant beat the view and all of this while being within walking distance of dozens of many great shops and restaurants.

Pool area and grill were a nice touch also right on the ocean! Communication wasn’t the best texted the phone number provided and got no reply. A little outdated but it’s pretty good for what you get!

I would give a full 5 stars however, I was told if I needed anything to just text the number back that gave the room code. When I did no one answered. Then I went to the office and stood outside for 15 minutes waiting for someone to come back. The location was great though and overall enjoyed my stay.

E3 is a nice unit, next to the pool. The tv needs updating. You are expected to remove your own trash and the early 10am check out is strictly enforced. Be aware that the unit is minimally stocked: no condiments.

My family and I really enjoyed the stay at Kona Reef. The room we stayed had everything we needed including the best ocean view ever! When you go out to the balcoy, the ocean is right in front of you. The place is walkable distance from the main shopping/dining area. The staff was kind and accommodating. Our room B23 was 25 yards away from Ali Drive, the car noise was constant. The unit was15 from the beach where family gathered which was nice but the homeless people slept and argued. Garage parking was convenient as well
