we booked bc we needed a kitchenette. eqipment was ok, but we had to go ask for dish towels and soap. staff was nice though. location was good to catch our flight the next morning.

bathroom had a weird smell and there was a loud noise from some ventilation system.

Stunning view from the hotel's pool. Nice shade provided by exotic dragon trees. Long enough pool for lap swimming. Nice pool service building with toilets and showers. easy access to the room's patios. Breakfast is large and tasty with a staff that is friendly and responsive. Nice dining room. The on-site restaurant is very good. Sushi is a delicious hallmark. Its signage is all over area roads so if you get lost just look for their signs. Parking is available next to the lobby just ask for the gate code. Second pool is 100 yards closer to the ocean. Larger, nice views, bar open peak hours. we never used it as the one outside our door was plenty nice.

Not enough electrical outlets or lighting in the room that would allow reading a book at night. Galley kitchen was large enough but the utensils, pots and pans were an eclectic mish-mash. We like cooking on vacation and it was a challenge because the utensils were not supplied. The patio is too sunny to enjoy in the afternoon without an umbrella or an awning which are not supplied. Too bad because its a lovely space. Also, the architect should be drawn and quartered for designing patio walls that are solid rock and too high to see over when seated which means the stunning ocean view can only be enjoyed when standing in the patio. Seated you see a rock wall. Ugh, what was the idiot thinking? Did they ever even visit the site? Wifi was ok but should have been stronger. Staff was very kind, helpful and mostly spoke English. Oh, we asked for a hot tub room, it was there on the patio but had not been serviced. We complained and 24 hours later it was up and running and sits elevated high enough to offer a nice view of the ocean. Smoking is allowed on the patios and that drove us inside whenever our neighbors lit up. Too bad. European society is so advanced in so many ways but why oh why do they smoke like its 1950? It will kill you!

We love the views, the swimming pool, the fact that it was far from the crowd and still easy to get there. The room (duplex with access to the pool) was huge and really comfortable. We also really appreciated the information and attention provided by the staff at all times.

I didn't like the breakfast. It was not a breakfast i would pay 12 eur for an adult, but for sure, not 8 eur for a 4 years old that only had a bit of milk and a piece of fruit. The noise from the corridor and the rooms on the sides... was just like they were making the noise in our own room. Isolation could be much better.

We stayed in two different rooms during our holidays. The first one - basic with garden view and enormous bed. It was OK Second one - apartment with pool view with small bed. It is very spacious and view is great. The pools (there are two) are fantastic.

The only unpleasant part of the holiday was the whale watching trip we bought in the reception (organized by ANC). The staff assured us the boat will be big, stable and suitable for 3year old. It was horrible, horrible trip and very dangerous. Boat was much smaller than described. Ocean was very turbulent and we should've not leave the harbor that day. Especially with a small kid! I am still traumatized by this event.

peaceful location far for the city center , a relaxing oasis. staff is super helpful , and proposed interesting activities. must rent a car , no Uber on the island and taxis are expensive. good good in loco restaurant

Leaving the property.

The room smelled like cigarette smoke. They couldn't change our room because the hotel “was full”. They refunded that first night and we agreed to stay at the hotel with the commitment that a thorough cleaning would be done the next day to remove any odors. The next day we realized that they had not done the supposed thorough cleaning that they had promised. In fact, the room had not even been cleaned. Again, I reported it to reception and all they did was change the sheets. They did not change the curtains that were dirty and smelled of cigarettes because "this 4-star hotel-resort does not have replacement curtains." I reported that the air conditioning was not working and could not be turned off, the next day they managed to turn it off but never bothered to fix it. The excuse was first that there was no technician during the weekend but during the week, they simply forgot about this issue. I also reported a light not working, they didn't fix it either. The dishwasher doesn't work well, you have to wash everything by hand. The WC was not clean, it had spots of poop. This hotel is not remotely 4 stars. It is dirty and there is no way they will properly clean the room. The qualities in general are terrible and it has all the shortcomings that you could find in any hostel. Awful experience.

I liked that the room was large, it had a bar and bar stool area which was comfortable for sitting, a balcony and a small kitchenette. The cleaning was also quite thorough and the cleaners even washed your dishes if you left them there dirty

There were several defects in the room, most annoyingly the lock of the balcony door was broken, so the balcony could not be locked. For me this is quite a security threat - I know that Portugal is quite safe, but staying in a 4 star hotel and paying so much money for the room, the least I would expect is to have guaranteed safety. We brought it to their attention on saturday and it wasn't fixed until Tuesday! (This is 4 days to fix a lock and was only fixed after I complained again on Monday) - furthermore there was absolutely no service recovery offered. Neither a free breakfast nor a reduction in price, even though I was quite frustrated with it. Not only that, but we asked for some more coffee capsules in our room as only 2 were provided, and they seriously wanted us to pay for them, saying they only provide 2 capsules for the entire stay. If you want to use the kitchenette you have to buy almost everything yourself from salt, oil, coffee filters, etc, which defeated the purpose of the kitchenette for a 5 day stay... They have pans and cutlery though. The pool is way too cold to swim in (we were there end of may) and the lower pool changing area seemed to be out of use or out of order. Also reception only had one single beach/pool towel available when we asked for them.. For the AC you have to asked for it to be switched on from reception, so the first night we were sweating like crazy as we didn't know about this.

The location is great! Easily accessible & with magical scenery. The hotel is surrounded by lushy green and a blue ocean. Useful kitchenette in the room. Very nice room terras/balcony. Friendly, helpful staff. Calm and serene atmosphere (except for a tiny remark/point of improvement linked to the exhaustion system making quite some noise when you are sitting around the main swimming pool area)

The cleanliness or rather the lack thereof. When we received our room the floor was still dirty and there were multiple stains on the curtains (It didn't change the days following our stay). Multiple chairs were broken on the terras. ANC resort is a nice concept with lots of potential hence a big pity that no one of the staff told us that there was a 2nd and even a 3rd swimming pool with magnificent ocean view. Same goes for the tennis court. No one told us and there were zero indications/signs. As we just discovered it by coincidence. Perhaps a last advice for the hotel management would be to add a bar or small cafeteria next to the 2nd/3rd swimming pool (with the ocean view). Guaranteed success!

We had an amazing stay! The room was very clean with a well-equipped kitchen, an extremely comfortable bed, blackout curtains, and even an insect repellant was provided. The view from the terasse is marvellous. The staff is very helpful and polite. They attended to our requests with care and provided excellent service. The breakfast served at the hotel was amazing. It represented the local food with a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Endless possibilities for a healthy diet.

The location is good. the place is simple and quiet. the room was big.

I enjoyed staying in this small coastal village, and the hotel was perfect. good view , good service. parking, and navigating to it the place was easy. the restaurant that is in the hotel offered a good dinner. comfy bed. small kitchen (so you could actually cook your own breakfast if a wish).

breakfast. it’s 12euro but the choice of food is basic. probably that’s why rooms have kitchen…. to give you options to cook whatever you like …

The most gigantic and comfortable bed! Amazing views and really fun and helpful staff. Highly recommend it.

We stayed in ANC Resort in the low season and we couldn't even fathom what we got for the price until we reached there! It was honestly mindblowing! The amazing view to the ocean, superfriendly staff, gigantic room with a huge balcony. They also had just opened their own new restaurant and the food was amazing! We also got our laundry done as an extra service and they even matched our socks.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were complete. We really enjoy our stay there 👍 Highly recommended
