It’s originality, the effort made to show how things were in the Good old days but with all the modern touches to make it a very enjoyable and comfortable experience. The host, Sam was very knowledgeable about the history and very happy to help with ideas of where to eat and visit.

Everything about this property was excellent. From Sam’s greeting on arrival through to departure we felt spoilt in this divine cottage, a mix of exquisite old world charm exacting its era but tricked up with every mod con you could desire. Location couldn’t be better. If your looking for a treat to remember, this is it.

amazing attention to detail, -1850s heritage restored immaculately with all the mod cons needed for a house stay, nothing overlooked. beautiful old town, history rich, quiet and central to the gold fields.

Sam, our host was fabulous. He was friendly and helpful and provided many extras you don't usually find including a cappuccino machine 🤩 We had a great chat with Sam about the history of the cottage which we found very interesting.

We stayed on Monday and Tuesday nights, nowhere was open for dinner on Monday night and on Tuesday night only the takeaway was open. Nearest places open were 20km away. There were very limited options for breakfast and lunch on both days. We ended up buying supplies from the local IGA to get us through.

Quirky, spotless, and actually interesting to stay in. An excellent host who couldn't do enough for us. Thanks, Sam.
