The breakfast is awesome, and the staff was very gentil and helpful.

Pretty B&B in a beautiful coastal town. Our room was immaculate and had a large terrace looking across to the historic centre of Tropea. The owner Rosella was a delightful lady and went out of her way to help us. she served us a huge breakfast on our balcony - scrambled eggs, ham and tomatoes, croissants, homemade cake and cappuccino. The B&B is a 10 minute walk to town and the nearest beach. If I could give this property 6 stars I would!

Breakfast was super! Homemade cakes were very delicious and everyday day different. Apartment is very close to the historical city center (5min), though no sounds from the city. You can reach beautiful beaches by foot in 15min. Host are willing to help in every situation! (Even at night)

We had a perfect stay at Villa il Barone! The villa and garden are beautiful and lovingly maintained. The location is perfect - just around the corner of the beautiful historic center in a calm street. The room was modern and perfectly clean - with a spacious private terrace with a stunning view on the sea and the old town. The diverse and rich breakfast was served on the private terracce - with variations and lovingly selected specials every morning - just delicious! But especially to mention the hosts - Rossalla and Roberto - who are very attentive, incredibly sympathetic, always in a good mood with a smile, recommendations and help. We had a perfect week, wish we could have stayed longer and hope to be back! :)

Great rooms, beautiful balcony with view and Stella was so sweet and kind! We loved breakfast delivered to our room on the balcony and was really close walk to the center! Highly recommended!

Super clean, friendly and helpful staff.

Rosella and Roberto were very kind, amazing hosts who went out of their way before and during our stay to help us out. The house and guest-rooms are clean. Breakfast is served daily on your private terrace, and they do their own (excellent) baking. If you don't request eggs, then breakfast can be a little carb-rich. Some people love that; others don't. The house is 500m from the center of town, a short walk and nice way to stay in a quiet, residential area, but the walk is on a road with no shoulder that makes a hairpin-turn around a ravine. We were fine with it, but some people may not be comfortable walking that. Visitors should be aware that in this part of Italy, there are few English-speakers. I find that a positive, though we found some English-speakers had a tough time in restaurants and other venues. Villa il Barone was a fantastic value for the money.

A smaller but more balanced breakfast would have been better. The homemade baked goods were excellent, but the store-bought ones could have been higher quality but smaller quantity. The front yard could have made a stronger first-impression (though the rest of the house was fine). Cleaning person placed our toiletry bags in the (completely dry and unused) bidet while cleaning the shelf in the bathroom and forgot to put them back, so we found them there. It may be worth requesting not to move personal items when cleaning the bathroom. Minor thing, and she was obviously cleaning every surface, but still slightly off-putting. Even with these slight negatives, we would certainly consider going back.
