The hotel is in a beautiful setting. Food was good and the service was friendly.

Room was not available on check in (I arrived at 8:00 pm). I was given an upgrade, however it was next to the elevator shaft. The noise from the elevators was relentless. I asked for a different room and they accommodated me the next day. The second room was starting to show some age with some peeling paint in the bathroom. There was a localized power outage the morning I checked out. While backup power was working, there was no hot water, which meant a cold shower.

No store to purchase sundry type items. Had to bother front desk staff. Very limited items for health related illness. Room service was unavailable during stated availability; power outage. High End purses for sale was wasted space. After experiencing a fall in the restaurant/bar, and going to Urgent Care,I was interviewed by staff , but never offered anything, not even a free cup of coffee or breakfast after my accident.

Staff were extremely friendly and attentive and room was quite clean. Both a real positive to the stay.

For the price, owners could certainly afford to equip the property with new beds. After all, the quintessential thing they are selling is sleep.

but no place in future as it is currently run. valet parking people are not so helpful; the room was filthy and had been cleaned only so so. the caked up dust on the baseboards was awesome to see when using the plugs. and in spite of that, there are signs encouraging guests not to have their rooms cleaned. unimaginable. valet park people need training; they are there to help, not to get in the way. no minibars and no cold waters in houston, texas?
