First off, 100% recommended staying here, and I'll very likely stay again. Staff was friendly. I was greeted with a smile. The clerk was very helpful. I initially booked a queen bed with a hot tub; the clerk was kind enough to ask Mr if inprefered a hot tub with a mirror or without and took me to see the difference. The room I picked had a king bed and he upgraded me without charging extra. Room was very spacious and clean. The floor surprised me as it wasn't carpet, but a hard floor. Bed was fairly comfortable. AC was struggling a bit to keep the right temperature. TV was working perfectly. The hot tub was also working perfectly, though I think the jets or something need cleaning as they shot out a little bit of built up dirt. There's free coffee in the hallway on the second floor! Along with the ice and vending machines.

Don't have any real complaints. Only things that were "wrong" were small things in the category if 'normal wear and tear.'

That you can choose between smoking and non smoking rooms. Vending machine was very reasonable pricing

There was no parking.

It was very clean.

There was no elevator to the second floor. The bed was not terribly comfortable. Although the rooms were redone and the furniture was not comfortable in the bathroom had not been redone.

Nice quiet comfortable

Nice, clean, small motel. Right on the main road, but set back a little. Very easy walk to Avenel rail station to NYC.

Delightfully retro without being at all old and worn; it’s an older building but they’ve done an amazing job. Felt like time-traveling into a shiny mid-century advertisement, but with all the modern comforts. The in-room jacuzzis are *amazing*. Definitely a place with personality, not a cookie-cutter chain hotel. We found them by accident and are sad we rarely have reason to stop nearby— we’d love to go back. Perfect place for cozy family reunions and the like, and way nicer than the price implies; quite the bargain!

The room could have used a comfy armchair or small couch for curling up and reading next to the lovely electric fireplace; on the other hand, they were mid-renovation and the room layout implied it might have been a temporary absence. People who can’t handle stairs should definitely check with the proprietors; it’s not clear whether they have an elevator, given the whole place has a total of two stories and the old building predates that requirement.
