Stunning property, fabulous host, great location, comforting and clean. It’s one of our favourite VRBOs ever.

We stayed at this beautiful castle for 4 nights in August. The location is fantastic; as soon as you pass through the gate, you really feel like you're immersed in a fairytale atmosphere. Unfortunately, this atmosphere fades a bit once you enter the rented accommodation. It's an apartment converted from one of the wings that was previously used for other purposes, with a beautiful living room featuring very high ceilings. Unfortunately, the listing mentioned 4 bedrooms, but there are actually only two. The other two are, in fact, a living room and a passage room with sofa beds that are not very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped, but the quality of the interior furnishings is low, especially in one of the bathrooms, where the shower curtain has a yellowed bottom, which is not very inviting. The place itself is beautiful, and the owner is a very kind person. It's clear that a lot of effort has been made to keep the location well-restored; the garden is lovely, but more could be done to improve the rented apartment. The location is excellent, and by following the owner's directions, we were able to enjoy a pleasant walk to the center of Bayeux.

Very unique stay! Lovely spot — quiet countryside feel in an historic villa within walking distance of city. Great for family.

The property itself is a stunningly beautiful work of craftsmanship, history, and attention to detail. It exudes tranquility and charm. What magnifies the quality of staying here is the hospitality of the owners, Christophe and Veronique. Thoughtful and accommodating, they are available to be helpful and simultaneously respect your privacy. This is a stay we put on our list of places to which we hope to return someday.

We just had a wonderful stay in Bayeux! Christophe was a great host, very communicative. Location was perfect, we could walk into town through a beautiful nature preserve and it is centrally located for visiting the sites of Normandy. Our kids loved exploring the property and nature preserve.

We had a marvelous stay at Christophe's home. Everything about the farm was lovely as was the host. It just made our entire visit to this area of France all the more delightful.

Beautiful spot with fantastic owners. Spacious and clean. Highly recommended.

This has been by far one of our family’s favourite vacation rentals. Christophe is very helpful. His pride in his property shows with the huge undertaking of years of renovations and restoration. So grateful for sharing this historic property with us! The location is perfect. Ask how to walk into town along the river- it was one of my son’s top 3 favourite things to see in all of France. The grounds allow your kids to stretch out. Definitely recommend!!

This property is absolutely amazing. Christophe and his wife are very welcoming and shared the history of the property. The apartment is large and spacious and very clean. Couldn’t ask for anything else!

My husband and I traveled with our 4 daughters to Bayeux in September. We absolutely loved staying in this amazing and unique property. It is even more beautiful and charming than the pictures show. It had all the modern conveniences we needed but still made us feel as if we had traveled back in time. During our time in Bayeux we explored the beautiful town, toured the D-Day beaches and American Cemetery, and spent a day at Mont Sainte-Michel. The location of the apartment is perfect and we had such a wonderful time! Normandy is beautiful and we hope to go back again one day. Christophe is very proud of his property (as he should be!) and was kind to share the history with us. He was very responsive and accomodating. I highly recommend staying at the Manor... you won't regret it!

What can I possibly say about this place-it’s the only place I would stay in this region, my second stay. The owners communicate so well, if I had a question, it was answered quickly. Christophe came out to greet us and Veronique also came out when we were in the courtyard to say hello. Such nice people! It made me feel I was coming to visit friends that I had known for many years! They live in the manor house and are available to give a tour of the property and what it was known for. I would certainly advise people to stay, a great reunion house or a place for many people!

Great week in this lovely accommodation, perfect location, host communication great throughout, so much to do and see

i felt like we were on some kind of movie set. it is a perfectly restored and maintained 17th century manor house with a fortified farm, that is now mostly a huge lavender field. There is a massive cider press in a room adjoining the guest quarters. our group included myself, my wife, my daughter, and son-in-law and two 9-year-old grandchildren and there was plenty of room for all of us. The living room is enormous with a massive stone fireplace. The host was always very friendly and helpful. it is a perfect place to stay to visit Bayeux and the Normandy beaches. we could walk into town on a boardwalk and trail though a wetlands area. The only complaint we would have was the lack of fans or better ventilation due to the extremely hot weather while we were there.

Lovely Manor in Bayeux
We rented this manor from Christophe for a few days and really enjoyed the property. We came during the D-Day festivities and it was a great location for a home base. It had everything we needed with a fully functional kitchen, dining room/living room, laundry room, a sitting room, 2 private bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
The property has been restored (and still some work is being done but nothing that impacted our stay). It is a beautiful property and I recommend you walk around the gardens and visit the horses. We saw a jackalope one early morning. A lot of history to the family property. Christophe and his wife are both very personable.
It is close to grocery stores and downtown Bayeux.
The only thing I would mention is that the listing mentions 4 bedrooms but that is because there is a pull out sofa in both the sitting room and the living room. I would say that there are 2 private bedrooms and 2 rooms with pull out sofas (non-private). For us this worked because we only needed to private bedrooms.
I would really recommend this manor if you are going to be in Bayeux or nearby.

This historic, quiet and fascinating property provides a unique experience. Our family of 4 stayed for a week in the large, spacious apartment. The hosts are gracious, responsive and eager to share the history and will provide many recommendations for activities in the area. An amazing ancient apple press is through a door off the master bedroom. There are 2 true bedrooms - the master and one with twin beds. There is a comfortable double/queen sofa bed in the great room which has a door and is private. The second sofa bed is in an open area serving as a study. There is one shower and the master bath with bath tub and hand held extension. This property is rustic, with some lovely antiques, ample storage, parking and only a mile or two from Bayeux with an amazing cathedral, famous tapestry, many wonderful restaurants and a great base for Normandy and northern Brittany. Our family loved staying here and learning about its unique history. There is an amazing market on Wednesdays and Saturdays and would recommend L'Angle Saint Laurent restaurant. Great base for D-Day beach exploration. We would definitely return. Thank you Christophe for your gracious hospitality.

Wonderful stay at a restored historic property
We were very pleased with our stay. The property is beautifully restored and it really added to our stay to get to stay in such a historical property. The kids (and adults) loved exploring the property and getting to see the added features like the old apple press.
Hosts were available if we needed anything.
Kitchen and bathrooms clean and practical. Sofa bed a bit squeaky (but to be expected with a sofa bed).
Property is very quiet at night.
Added bonus is the spacious parking. Because there were six of us we were travelling with a large sprinter type van and were able to park it easily.

We enjoyed a great holiday at “la ferme manoir”. The owners are amicable and helpful, and they did an outstanding job in restoring the whole manor. We enjoyed the large living room with a six metres ceiling and the well-equipped kitchen. Both bathrooms were clean and comfortable. The location is only a five minutes drive, or fifteen minutes walk from the historical city centre of Bayeux. The tennis court was our favourite spot in the morning. The stone fence around the manor and the spacious gardens makes it a safe and quiet space. What a relaxing week we enjoyed in this beautiful place. It is an ideal base to discover the rest of Normandie. We thank Christophe and Véronique for their hospitality. We highly recommend “la ferme manoir”!

Great stay in Normandy!
Beautiful place to stay while we were touring Normandy! We would have loved to stay longer and hope to return in the future. Our family of five had plenty of space for sleeping and socializing. Christophe was an excellent host and did very well communicating details about arrival and updates about any changes. We wish we had more time to enjoy the accommodations as this place has a wonderful history of its own. Pleasantly surprised to find a second bathroom with a proper shower. The kitchen had everything we needed to make small meals and snacks. We drove to Normandy but our daughters arrived by train which was nearby. Overall, a great experience and we will be back!

BEST PLACE EVER!!!!!!
We have lived and traveled all over the world and stayed in some beautiful places. Beautiful doesn’t begin to describe this Crémel Manor. It has breathtaking views, gorgeous sunsets, and then to top it off Christoph and Veronique were so hospitable even letting us come a day earlier than we had expected. The villa (yes it was more like a villa than anything else) was so beautiful the living area was huge, the kitchen well equipped and stocked for large families, so many rooms all large with plenty of room and the decorations so well done with subtle accents that just made this place even more amazing. We love how there were two full bathrooms and that there was the original apple press off the balcony, this was one of the neatest things ever!!
An added bonus is that it is inside a gated area very safe. The location was also the best we were less than a kilometer from downtown where they had great restaurants and the cathedral, also with amazing shops. The people in town were also so nice. Only 20 mins from Omaha beach, 40 mins to Utah, and only an hour and 20 mins to the beautiful Mont Saint Michel. We truly did not want to leave. So excited to return again in the spring time.

Relaxing and Beautiful
This was our best property on our European trip. If you love history, and quiet mornings in a beautiful manor with gardens, this is the place to rent. I only wish we would have had more down time to relax and explore Bayeux. Christophe the owner is so kind and took time out of his day to walk the property with us and tell us the history. Just a beautiful place in the world. Thank you.

My family of six had a wonderful four-night stay at the Manor. The hosts were accommodating and friendly. They provided extra bedding to make our stay more comfortable. We ate in Bayeux several nights, but we all agreed that the meal we cooked in the Manor kitchen was the best. The Manor is on a busy highway, but still safe and convenient to walk to town. The stone fence around the farm made us feel safe and secure. We spent a week in Paris previous to our visit to the Manor, so the peace and quiet of the farm was a welcome relief. We all agreed that when we return to Normandy, we will stay at the Manor. Thanks Christophe and Veronique for a wonderful stay.

There were eight of us, including four children, two grandparents and two parents traveling to Normandy to visit the D-Day beaches and countryside. The Manor proved to be a wonderful place for all of us. The kids LOVED it for all it's unique qualities. The adults loved it for those and its beauty and quietness, even though it is located within easy walking distance of Bayeux. Christophe and Veronique were very nice and attentive hosts. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to those who might be interested.

Unforgettable experience
We loved our time here. Christophe and Veronique have done an incredible job converting a 17th century estate into a comfortable, unique place for groups. Their communication was exceptional and we couldn't have been happier with our choice.
