Pool was great on weekdays

Pool at weekends was very rowdy with hotel letting in day visitors - didn't feel very 5 star at all at weekend

The Pelican Hill is in a class of its own. The grounds are absolutely magnificent and its roman inspired architecture is "exotic". One feels transported to another time and place. Service was absolutely amazing. Everybody was super nice, room service was impeccable. The pool and the sunset views from the restaurant are very special.

Food was above average but not remarkable. Rooms are very spacious and comfy but somewhat a bit dated. We stayed in Room 426 which we found quite noisy once you stood on the balcony. When we asked to move, we were told that the 400s are the most sought after but it's hard to believe as they are directly above the Newport Coast Drive, which is almost a highway. Views of the ocean are beautiful but you won't get any sunset there. Based on the map, only rooms 408-414 & 401-406, are looking directly out West.

Circle pool with excellent service. Exceptional rooms with comfort that is unmatched. Beautiful decor the lobby was pleasant to see. The grounds were impeccable.
