We came to town for a college visit to UNI and it only took us 10 minutes to get to campus. We also LOVED the continental breakfast - complete with biscuits and gravy. We stayed at another AmericInn in Ames, IA recently and, for the price we've paid, it's our new favorite place to stay!
Our room was freezing when we arrived, but we turned the thermostat down. While we explored and ate supper downtown, it was much better upon our return. Granted, we were there on a day when the heat index was near 100.

Ease of check in.
Booked a fireplace room, didn't work. Got told that "it was a maintenance issue' and there was nothing they could do. Fireplace rooms cost more and was the only reason I booked it was for the fireplace. No offer to remedy the situation.

Bathtub was dirty, scotch tape on walls and pictures, hole in wall they just painted over, food on floor from previous guests

Rented two rooms for 5 days and they both smelt and had holes in the walls,dirty,a/c did not work the first night in one room, no bed frame under one of the beds in the other room hair dryer did not work, they didn’t service the rooms ever so we had to find clean towels,t/p, and facial tissue. Overall not a good experience.

first room on ground floor had broken screens and windows didn’t lock. they moved us up to the second floor and that bathroom had blood on the door and in the tub and hair all over the floor. also had busted screens and window locks

I didn't have breakfast there. The location is great. Honestly the biggest thing for me was having the hot tub in the king suite. I planned a romantic weekend with my sweetheart and we both loved that.

The person working when we checked in was super nice and helpful. The front entrance was, like other Wyndham’s, beautiful and clean.
Dust in the room. Lamps, tables, etc. The beds were absolutely horrible. Like sleeping on a brick.

Paid extra for a fireplace that didn't work.
No reduction in rate offered. The evening desk clerk wasn't very hospitable, but the morning person at least offered an apology.

I stayed for one night in room 111 after having stayed one night previously in room 206.
The first night was great, the second night was so gross. Not sure if it was just who cleaned the rooms, if the second one had not been cleaned at all, or first floor vs second floor.
Review of one night stay in room 206:
No hairs or stains on the towels or in the bedding.
It was quiet! I wake up to anything but didn't hear a single thing all night.
Good size fridge in the room with a control setting to change the temp. It didn't get as cold as I hoping with the food I brought.
Microwave in the room.
Decent mattress.
Constant fan setting on the heater for white noise.
Disliked · Some hairs on the bathroom floor along the bathtub.

So many things in the room made it seem like the room was not actually cleaned before my stay:
*Hairs between blankets on both beds.
*Stains on the sheets and a rip in the sheets.
* Hair on the toilet seat.
* The sink had not been cleaned.
* Stains on towels. Even mascara on a towel which I would think normally would wash out.
* The mini fridge and microwave had not been cleaned out. Both smelled awful. The microwave had food splatters and a very strong smell. The mini fridge had a strong smell, hairs, food marks, and a hardened yellow/white food substance.
*Stains on the carpet.
*Smudge marks on desk.
*Stains on the boxspring cover along the sides that were visible.
*Too small of mini fridge and located under the bathroom sink counter.

The staff was incredibly friendly and made suggestions for places to go and things to visit.
It was not as close to our activities. However, it was not much of an inconvenience. It was a bit difficult finding the entrance.

Went 6 consecutive days without room service, and had to go to the front desk to ask for towels, shampoo and tissues. I understand the need for profit, but this takes cost saving to a whole new level. Maybe a course in hotel management would solve their problems. I could not get my statement at checkout, and they said they would email it which has not happened.

The property was conveniently located.
It was not very clean. We had one (1) bath towel and one (1) bar of slim soap when we arrived. The pillows were lumpy and the sheets were aged. This is not what I have experienced at other AmericInn’s and definitely not what I would have expected of a Wyndham property. The staff was ok but almost every staff member I dealt with was on their first or second day. There seemed to be a high turn over. There were a lot of long stay guest of which many over indulged at the bar, partied an BBQ’d in the parking lot. The grounds were not manicured well.

Waffles with timer works out great once you figure out how to work it. Location is the good for downtown CF/ Parkade and local shopping. I like the comfortable queen beds and pillows. Atul and his wife are very nice. When I needed something fixed, they addressed it quickly and resolved the issue.
having the room not inspected before arrival. short towels, toilet lid loose, no tissues, short on cups and soap. tub clogged with hair. safety hing loose screws almost out. you have no maintenance and housekeeping does most . they cleaned the room very professional and made my stay better.
At check in, Amanda not making you feel very welcomed and couldn't wait to get off her shift. It made me want to go somewhere else. Stayed here before and she was not like this. other choices need more variety on bagels only two kinds. bigger cup with lids on coffee there were out by coffee one day. toaster is too slow for bagels. toilets too low for a 6ft man. need way bigger TV in deluxe rooms. too far away while in bed. 50 inch would be better. cant read the CC on the screen. lift for luggage for 2nd floor for elders.

The beds were extremely comfortable. I am 7.5 months pregnant and it’s not easy to get comfortable,I didn’t have that problem.
From the minute we walked in the door it smelled like weed. Our whole room smelled like it. I was traveling with my daughter and her friends and like I mentioned above I am pregnant. The 2nd night it was so bad I mentioned it to the women at the front desk and she told me she was aware of it, as I wasn’t the first guest to bring it to her attention. She wrote my room number down so we could take our room out of the possible rooms it was coming from. I explained to her it was either right beside us or right above us but Nothing was done about it. If I could have found another hotel room elsewhere I would have left. I will never stay at another one of your hotels.

breakfast was ok if you use the microwave to warm up the sausage and eggs location was ok
better trained front desk people. bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows were bad. front desk lady called me on saturday morning and told me they didnt have a card on file to guarantee the 10 rooms that i had reserved. i di not call her back as we were only about 2 hours from being there to check in. i didnt give her a card for them to put on file but when i got home they had taken all then rooms out of my checking account so they DID have a card on file, she needs more training so she knows what she ios talking about. i reserved 8 king rooms and 2 rooms that had 2 queen beds. when we checked in everybody got rooms that had 2 queen beds and nobody got king bed rooms. i did enough complaining that they magically found a king room for me. then another couple complained and they found a king room for them but they charged them $25 for upgrading to a king room that i had already reserved for them. i am in waterloo at least 2 times a year bowling and i will never stay at this hotel again
