The staff were friendly.
Room: dated - the decor was dated , paint splatter was on the picture frames . If you have allergies the old carpet will cause you issues.
Breakfast - no options -
Prepackaged snack size muffins , Instant oatmeal( maple brown sugar),of brand cereals , plain bagel , grape jelly, and snack size mixed fruit in heavy syrup.
There were limited healthy options and no variety.

Staff was fantastic
Room was incredible.
The food in the bar was terrible. Not edible.

Great location.
The rooms really need to be updated. The cold breakfast was sad.

Edgar’s Restaurant, the original Bellhurst castle rooms, the wine selection
the breakfast was “cheaply” presented and not prepared. that was appealing for the cost of the room.
5.0
it was on the water
toilet was leaking. Let them know as soon as we were in the room. They said they would send someone up to fix it. It never got fixed or did they care to address it with us.
9.2
Loved the castle grounds on the lake
It was cold and it would have been nice to be able to use the fireplace in the room, but we were not allowed to use it

location was beautiful
the food in the restaurant could have been better for the facility and the price

The grounds are stunning and the room was spacious and very comfortable.
The walls were paper thin allowing me to hear every sound from the rooms on both sides of me all night. Also, for a luxury hotel the continental breakfast was more than disappointing consisting of prepackaged store bought bagels and muffins, packaged instant oatmeal and cereal and light yoghurt. The coffee was good though. Simply disappointing for a hotel in the price range.

beautiful setting, nice staff, large comfortable room, wonderful lake view from window
air conditioner was right next to the bed and blew right on me; continental breakfast was rather “sad” with tiny muffins and bagels in cellophane packets; it was a bit confusing about where you could consume what wine depending on where you bought it

We love historical hotels, so that was awesome.
Great location: view was amazing as it's right on the lake. Plenty of benches to sit & contemplate life watching the lake. Fireworks at night were a pleasant surprise.
Room very spacious & we had a lake view.
Great size shower & water pressure great as well as the hot water temperature.
Regular coffee pot.
Tavern food good. We had artichoke spinach dip with naan bread which was flavorful but hardly any spinach in it.
We also had the Philly cheese steak flatbread was very good.
We ate @ Edgar's later for dinner & both the pork chop & prime rib we're very good. The pork chop thick & large & the prime rib was way too big lol. A little over cooked as I wanted medium rare but still full of flavor.
Wine flights reasonably priced.
Unknown if this was because they're shorthanded or if this is the way it normally is, but no bell help. You're on your own getting your luggage from the car to the room. They have carts to help but the carts are old & don't roll very well: especially on the carpet in the halls.
Jacuzzi in the main living area was just plain weird.
TV screen is way too too small. Our eyesight is just fine but from where the bed is to the TV on top of the fireplace is a little bit of a distance & just difficult to see. I've got computer monitors bigger than that TV.
Coffee pot should've had liquid creamers instead of old fashioned powdered packets. This is supposed to be a higher end hotel so that was a disappointment.
The rooms need updating. Old sink faucets, old sinks with mica countertops. Again, for the price per night,
I expected a more luxurious accommodation.
Bed mattress in our opinion was too hard. Pillows were very firm & uncomfortable. We didn't sleep well.
Overall, ok experience. Not a great value for the money. But if you want a historical place to stay... It definitely qualifies.

The overall venue was spectacular. The location was perfect
My family stayed at the castle for 4 days/3 nights. The one aspect that fell short was morning breakfast. A little more effort can be done including the choice of having freshly prepared food eg - eggs , bacon, fruit salad, waffles etc.

lack of electrical outlets in room. Only two in entire room
lack of trash cans - i extremely small wastepaper basket in entire room/bathroom
-Extremely rude staff in gift shop. we were told when brought our lunch to eat outside (3 people that we could not have a picnic and sit on a bench outside and eat our lunch looking at the lake. ALL food has to be eaten in your room if not purchased on site. NO one was in the entire backyard of hotel. no event going on but we couldn't use grounds even after paying $300 a night! We are in a pandemic and one child is immunocompromised so we could not eat in restaurant. we were yelled at and told under no uncertain terms to eat in our room. whoever heard of a hotel where you couldn't actually use the resort if a paying guest????????????

Loved the location, lake view, secluded grounds.
For the cost of the rooms, it should have included a better breakfast than cold cereal and juice in a can.

Location, charm, beautiful views, beautiful window view from the rooms Lakeview
The rooms Could use updating. And the food at the bar was disappointing.

The location is on Lake Seneca with nice grounds and a nice view.
The finer restaurant required reservations a day or two in advance, then it wasn't open on Tuesdays. The stone cutter tavern had a limited menu for pescatarians/vegetarians and much of the menu is fried. Also the room heater was very loud, we couldn't use the fireplace because it wasn't November 1 ??

Everything about our stay was wonderful!!!! Lindsay at the front desk was friendly and a wealth of information. We'll go back again.

The breakfast was terrible due to we imagine the difficulty getting help, but could have been better with some protein options, like hard boiled eggs, or deli and cheese meats.. Although there was no cost, we had coffee and an apple. We heard until COVID, their choice of fare was superb!
As I stated above the choice of food was all carbohydrates! Also paper goods were quite flimsy and cheaply constructed.

Location was central to wineries, restaurants. Beautiful location on the lake.
A little old fashioned
