It was a beautiful historic inn. I spent two weeks trying to find the perfect, romantic hotel to take my wife to as a surprise for Valentine's Day and kept coming back to this, it also was the only place I could find that has a jet tub, balcony, Fireplace, and king bed all in one room. I have stayed at a lot of places but this is the only place that not only checks all of the boxes but had no issues. The staff was amazing, the property is beautiful, and every building is from the 1800s, every piece of furniture/artwork is authentic to the period if not from that period with a touch of modern. The manager Donnie; was great, helpful, and knowledgeable about the location. The manager stated that the owners bought the main building/mansion in 1980 after it sat vacant for 20 years, brought it back to its former glory, and over time continued to buy each house on the property from the 1800s and turned them into rooms as well. Named them after the Generals or soldiers that stayed there during the war. They have put their sweat, tears, and heart into this. The female owner is also an interior designer who redid every room on the property and made sure to buy each piece from the 1800s to keep up with that time. We stayed in the Winfred room and I highly recommend it.

The historic feel of the property.
The lack of parking near the mansion. The long distance from the mansion to the other houses that have the room
we stayed in. Our shower didn’t work at all, but the front desk did try to address it, but we just left early and went home.

it was beautiful. All decorated for Christmas, so lovely and breakfast was good but I loved the afternoon High teas.
My bathroom needs an update. My own fault I did not read that there was only a tub and no walk in shower in my room.
First time since 1981 I did not have a shower in my hotel room. That was my hotel in London.

Very beautiful property. We enjoyed the experience!
Our The Ice House was super cute and comfortable!

The houses were exquisite! The antiques were lovely!!
The high bed with its hard hard hard mattress!! Also disappointed by the "big country breakfast" it was not a big country anything.

It was beautiful and clean. Staff was great and the food was amazing.

Complete lack of customer service. Even though we asked for housekeeping (for a four night stay), all we received was a pile of towels. Bed wasn’t made, dirty glasses not removed, bathroom not cleaned- and this was well last COVID restrictions. The property is clearly challenged- numerous maintenance issues were clearly apparent, staffing was below par, etc. Too bad as the property has great potential.
Lack of housekeeping, lack of response by staff, limited dining options

Breakfast was great
No elevator was a definite drawback. I have a lung disease and hauling my luggage to the third floor was a struggle. We were totally unaware of this when we arrived.

The air conditioning was far too cold.
Accommodated on the top floor the Soundproofing was not very good

The breakfast was not as good as I expected it to be and the service was not good. We would receive our coffee but then it took them 10 minutes to bring cream it was the same thing with your food they would forget condiments or your beverage. I could get better food at IHOP
They did not provide housekeeping and never said that we had to request it. Then when I questioned it I was told you had to request. This was not related to me Doha’s to then request towels. Communication was poor I will not stay here again.

The historic home with the period decor was beautiful and a special place to experience. We enjoyed the quiet pool with the garden area.
Only thing I can think of is It would have been nice to have a mini fridge in the room.

Cute room, nice jacuzzi.
The walls are a little thin. A box fan to make white noise would be nice.

Tana was wonderful in taking care of us and getting us into our room in time to get dressed for our wedding

The room was very nice and we did appreciate the special requests that they were able to accommodate such as extra pillows and we loved how they left a rose with some folded towels in front of our door before we even got there. Would 100% recommend the Francis Scott key room

Charming inn with lovely grounds. Great staff and food.

Although it was off peak season, and just a break from the ordinary chain hotels, it had inviting charm. It was like visiting with family. I loved the Victorian charm and the little details, such as; presents under the Christmas tree, the way the property is almost it’s own little village, and how each building has a story. I hope to make it back someday. Thanks for a great experience!!!
The only complaint that I could muster up, would be the room was a little chilly, but that in itself added to the charm.

The mattress was very worn and uncomfortable.
