The location was awesome. The rooms were dated for the time period of 1800

I liked everything.

The breakfast was made up of wrapped bagels, muffins, yogurt, fruit, coffee, orange juice and cereal. Not what you would expect when advertising a bed and breakfast. However, the fruit was fresh. The staff was exceptional!!!!

It was great being so close to the ocean and boardwalk, but the noise went until 3:00 am! The hotel was kind enough to let us switch rooms which was better but still noisy.

Fabulous location. Walk to the pier and restaurants. Staff was exceptional. Bar and restaurant were amazing. You don't even need your car once you get there. We even walked to Balboa Island. The breakfast was a nice touch and the views were amazing.

Personnel was friendly.

Breakfast was bad and meager. Air conditioning was mediocre. Pictures didn't correspond to reality of the place. half of the windows would not open. Location in front of a busy and noisy public parking lot area.

From the very beginning, this was an excellent stay. when we got there someone had parked in the loading zone - the receptionist was so apologetic and got us a spot in the restaurant valet area - she was so friendly and helpful. The room was very large (we had the king with a patio). It also had a day bed with a trundle under it). The AC worked great when we needed it. I had heard about the noise from other reviews BUT we brought a small white noise machine and it worked beautifully. The location is central - other reviews made is seem like LOTS of noise but even when I was out on the patio it was not deafening or even that loud. The parking was such a bonus. Parking is insane around the hotel and the lot was attended and very close to the hotel. Breakfast was simple but the quality of the bagels and muffins was good. The bed was very comfortable, the best on our 2-week trip! The location was so close to the beach, and the nightly sunsets from the beach were amazing. we had a great time here and I highly recommend it.

perhaps a protein at breakfast, but that is a very minor quibble.

This hotel is a hidden gem. It is a special place.

I’m sure it is just because it’s an old building but the bathroom smelled like sewage. paper thin walls and none of us got a good sleep especially being woken up to breakfast being prepared and dishes literally all crashing down at 7am which I believe must have been a mistake. (I later read not to stay in room 4 for this very reason) not the quality I am use to spending $450 USD that’s for sure.
