The breakfast was excellent—all of the breakfast food I look for.

For me, the water temperature setting in the shower needed to be more responsive. The space itself is small, and I could not get the hot water temperature reduced to a slightly cooler level quickly enough.

Staff was all so friendly and inviting. Adorable room and location, fair price point compared to other hotels. Room was immaculate.

Very cool OLD historic buildings. Friendly staff. Rooms were appointed nicely. Beds were comfortable.

Music was loud, we moved to a building across the street because first room was above parking lot AND exit driveway (we had asked and we’re assured we’d have a quiet location). We had to PAY for upgrade and if possible, room location was louder as it was closer to the pub and pub door was open and music was loud (thankfully only til 11pm).

Lunch was tasty and bar/restaurant area was nice for gathering. Hotel is quaint, historic and great location. Rooms were clean.

The front desk & manager were extremely inflexible about an early check in. We were a party of 8 (3 rooms for family & 1 for bride & groom). They insisted that none of the rooms were ready even a half hour before their 2:00 check in(repeating over and over again that 2:00 is their "Policy") So rather than accommodate us with even just 1 room so we could dress, apply makeup & do our hair for our 2:00 wedding, they allowed us to put our belongings in their tiny lobby closet & offered the ladies room in the restaurant for us to get ready. So we traipsed through the bar & across the restaurant with hanging clothes, makeup bags & curling iron and got ready in the bathroom along with any dining guests who needed the bathroom. Then miraculously at 1:50. now that we are all dressed & ready to go to the wedding all the rooms were ready!!! So now we are gathering all our things, dragging it all up the stairs while in our heels and dress clothes so we can drop it all in room & get out to the wedding on time! Plus now all the other hotel guests that were arriving and/or waiting for the 2:00 check in were in line behind us waiting for their rooms. It was all very frustrating. I have traveled all over the world and through out the US and have "never" had a hotel unwilling to allow an early check in as soon as a room was available. Most even take our phone number so we can go site see or eat and they will call us when a room becomes available. We even stayed at the Griswold to eat and drink in their restaurant, hoping they'd come through with a room and we'd be right there but they didn't. As far as the rooms go, the mattresses were very soft and it was very noisy in the morning. You can hear people showering, using bathroom, even talking in other rooms. Not even a bottle of water in room.

Inn is charming. Restaurant excellent food. Staff helpful. room lovely.

Had to request room being made up. Did leave towels outside room so there were fresh ones.
