We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and returning to a house with air conditioning available was a bonus as the temperature was high during our stay. The house was spacious inside full of charming furniture with a well an excellent kitchen area. Outside was good for relaxing in the cool of the evenings. Bordeaux itself is one of the best cities we have visited and having access nearby to public transport worked well for us.

We spent a week in this beutiful house, practically downtown Bordeaux. We were looking a cosy place for our family vacation and we found it!!!! We felt being at home, with all ammenities and accomodation facilities: we had enough sleeping places for 8 people, enough bathroons, the dining table was big enough and all kitchenware was at out disposal. Everything was perfekt! We parked safely within the property, which might be a problem in a big city. We were just wondering how beautiful it could be to enjoy the patio in summer (we were there in full winter). We had all freedom we needed to come and go, preoare our meals and relax. Both city center and highway exit are easy to reach, a quite big supermarket is really around the corner and all other services are easy to find nearby: pharmacies, hospital Bordeaux Nord, street food, a nice park for the morning walks with your 4-paws-friend!!!! The house is warm, beautifully arranged and fully equipped. The place where you percepit respect and fellall natural to give it back. You can not find a better place to visit and enjoy Bordeaux, its surroundings and its people. Veronique and Sophie were extremly gentle and helpful, making us fell welcome. We are deeply greatful for this beautiful vacation!

We had a really good time in this house and the hosts were very welcoming. There were eight of us and we didn't feel crowded at all in the spacious house. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need. There is a Monoprix supermarket five minutes walk from the house, with a small bakery for early morning bread next door. The centre of Let Bouscat is fifteen minutes walk and has all the important food shops. We had some lovely cakes for a birthday tea. The weather wasn't the best, but we enjoyed exploring Bordeaux, which none of us had visited before. The house is outside the centre, but the bus and tram network is really good and we made full use of it. The bus stop is two minutes from the house and then a fifteen minute ride into the centre - the fares are not expensive and multi-ride tickets can be purchased. We particularly enjoyed walking along the quayside with its mirror pool and fountains, and its Sunday market. The Cite du Vin is also worth a visit, as is the Marche des Capucins. All in all it was a good holiday in a lovely house. We would certainly come back to it.

I can't say enough how much we enjoyed our stay in Veronique's beautiful home, a wonderfully calming and relaxing haven - it's so fresh , airy and spacious, though at the same time very personal and homely - great to come back to after busy days busy exploring Bordeaux. Veronique and her husband were also very accommodating on our arrival day, coped calmly with our delay, and gave us a relaxed and informative welcome, assuring us we should feel 'chez nous' for the week. (There were even beers in the fridge for us!) The house has a wonderful flow of space from inside to out through large sliding doors, with plenty of space to gather and eat, or chill out on the very comfortable furniture. The generous sofa on the shaded verandah was our favourite chill-space, but there was plenty of opportunity to soak up sun for those who wanted to, and the garden space all round the house was wonderfully private. Bedrooms: 3 at first floor, 1 on the ground floor; all good sizes and very nicely furnished, but the ground-floor parental suite is fantastic with it's huge and amazingly comfortable bed, lovely en-suite and dressing room attached. All showers were also excellent and powerful. Kitchen: also lovely, spacious and well-equipped - enough glasses, plates, cups and cutlery for many more than the 8 the house can sleep. WiFi worked well, and the up-to-date music system was a real treat. Although the house is not right in the city, we mostly walked into central Bordeaux as it was a pleasant and interesting route (approx 30 mins, and even with my husband's 82-year-old mother it only took 40 minutes to reach Place de la Comedie and Rue Sainte Catherine (shopping heaven!). To reach the Chartrons district (with it's own market, and antique shops along Rue Notre Dame) you can walk through Bordeaux's lovely public gardens. For non-walkers a reasonably frequent bus goes direct to Quinconces - bus stop is 2 mins from the house. For groceries, there's a good-sized Monoprix 5 mins walk from the house, with a good fish/shellfish counter. The little central square of Le Bouscat (nice 15 mins walk) has smaller groceries, boulangerie, bars and a very popular bistro on the church square. All in all, we are missing our wonderful holiday home - thank you Veronique. Recommend: Bar Notre Dame (82 Rue ND); Le Miroir d'Eau (everyone has such fun there); Padang Padang (friendly, good noodles, R Ste Colombe)
