Location,pool nice room.

The things we liked about Kasbah Angour were the pristine gardens, the hikes offered to guests, and the easy access from the Marrakech city center.
We left feeling very disappointed, and felt that we paid far too much money for this hotel. The wifi did not work in many parts of the property, including our room. The bathroom is in need of an update and the bed was not comfortable. The food was incredibly expensive, which was especially frustrating given that portion sizes were quite small. Unfortunately, we left feeling hungry each night after dinner. The staff members were kind but are definitely in need of more training.

We (2 adults, 2 children) spent 2 nights at Kasbah Angour in Superior Doubles at the back end of 10 days in Morocco staying at various Riads ranging from 3 Star to 4 Star. This review tries to be as balanced as possible.
We liked the fact that the property is 45 minutes from the airport, mid way to the Atlas mountains. 45 minute to 1 hour's drive and you reach the starting point of various walks.
The property has a lovely garden with English roses, and a decent sized pool. We opted to book two doubles and they are spacious, quiet, clean, and well appointed with a little patio and south facing. It was also good to have Air Conditioning.
Paul, the English owner, welcomed us which was a nice touch.
In summary, the service could be significantly improved. The all male - at least we saw no women - staff were rather run off their feet trying their best. But their best is rather mediocre - often not very well dressed, often not deferring to guests to le them pass first, not offering to help with bags (and so on).
we felt the food was mediocre - especially for Morocco. The breakfast with tea served out of thermos flasks was really not ideal; the buffet was limited to cereal with yoghurt and a bowl of fruit. Yes, there were eggs you could order, but with not much taste. Room service tea was served in a mug.
Dinner (chosen at 3pm(!) from a clipboard!) was set menu of 3 courses for circa 30 Euros a head; that makes it both a captive audience and expensive. The Tagines were good, but not great. We had to return one glass of wine as it was really dreadful.
The air conditioning unit had a very bright blue light with dancing LEDs that you could not black out at night; just meant we had to switch it all off.
The wifi was exceptionally poor; the hotel wifi works off Mobile 4G from INWI, which by default is a shared resource. That means in the late afternoon and evening when the town is all browsing the internet, it slows to zero. That is the same incidentally even if you have your own 4G Sim card. It's not necessarily the owner's fault, but with teenage kids, this meant quite some frustration.
The location is great from a logistics stand point, but there is no (reasonable) possibility to leave the property to walk to the town - it's on a steep hill.
And so yes, we come to value for money to which I would say, no, it's not value for money by quite some margin.
If I were to suggest some changes, it would be: add a femine touch - add some tea lights to the tables, perhaps a cut flower; upskill the staff; because the property itself is beautiful. Lots of potential, but possibly a formula that is getting a bit tired?

The setting and the gardens around the hotel were very picturesque. The food was very good.
The excursions from the hotel were expensive and haphazard compared to those on offer in Marrakech.

Breakfast just ok. Setting & tranquillity amazing. Beautiful landscaped gardens. Interesting local area & guide.
Very expensive £214+ just for B & B. Level of comfort in the room didn’t reflect this. Felt more like an up market hostel than 4 star hotel. Atmosphere austere.

location & style unrivalled in area. The views & gardens are superb. very friendly & helpful staff. liked being able to go on walks from hotel by ourselves & feel perfectly safe.
would have liked bathrobes for use during stay as it was a little chilly in evening & mornings after a shower.

The gardens and views from this property are amazing, totally amazing way to relax and enjoy real Morocco.
We where silly enough not to bring walking boots and should have stayed longer.

A peaceful retreat in the foothills with wonderful staff. Ideal for relaxing and recharging. A great base to explore further into the High Atlas Mountains but still an easy drive from Marrakech airport.

Very high quality hotel in stunning location. Comfortable rooms and lovely gardens with spectacular views across the Atlas Mountains from three sides, but only 30 minutes from central Marrakech so easy to get there. The excursion programme is varied and we joined 2 half-day walks with a local Berber guide which were well run and interesting. We had booked in a shoulder week so were the only guests and the staff managed to get the balance between attentiveness and giving us space about right.
The lights! Once the sun had disappeared the hotel is in pretty much in total darkness. Absolutely great to see the stars and we had fun picking out constellations, but the lights in the bar and bedrooms were very dim so difficult to sit and read. It was also quite difficult to get back into our room as the patio light switched off when you removed the key card so lots of fumbling trying to insert the key. A minor thing in the grand scheme of things, and would probably not be an issue if there were other people around, but we found ourselves discussing it more than once.

The road to the location should be upgraded.

Lovely location with great views of the mountains.
Our childrens room had unpleasant drain smells, although this was improved when we asked for it to be cleaned

Everything. Paul visionary mind created a place that has everything you wish for and more. The staff is super friendly, helpful and kind. it’s just fun to have them around. The architecture and garden, with the beautiful surroundings view, makes it a small piece of heaven.
The food was fantastic and with a lot of options.
I can’t say enough about this place.
Perfect stay.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. Highly considered interior decor and exterior landscaping, spotlessly clean, fabulous view of the Atlas Mountains. Calm, relaxing atmosphere. Great food at reasonable prices. Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help with any requests
We loved everything about it

This is a magical place. Perfectly located in the High Atlas, with guided walks from the front door yet only 35 mins from Marrakech airport. The rooms are spacious and airy and the public spaces comfy and welcoming. The large landscaped gardens have unobstructed views of the snow-capped peak of Mt Angour.
The staff were welcoming and friendly to the point we felt we had visited old friends for a break in their Moroccan mansion. Paul is a perfect host - welcoming and extremely well informed about all things Morocco.
Nothing!

Great walks around the Kasbah. Good breakfast. Very nice staff.
Ants in the room. Problems with hot water. The dinner is far too expensive for what it is.
