We loved Villa Smaragda. The hosts were wonderful people. The view and location were spectacular. It was like staying with family.

Spacious property, clearly a loved family holiday house with wonderful views over Limeni, plenty of outside dining space The house is one of four villas set off the road that links Kardymili with Areopolis and the Deep Mani, it’s a 5 minute drive from Areopolis and less than that to Limeni. Well located to explore the area.

Unfortunately there is a huge building site metres from the house - whilst we were there construction started at 7.15am and went in until 3pm - rock was being drilled, dug and removed causing unbearable noise, dust and making the house shake with reverberations. The owner said he was unaware that any construction work was going on and in any case ‘why should someone notify him when the construction company have a right to work from 8am to 3pm everyday except Sunday’. Work had been going on for some time and looking at the site will be going in until another villa is built which will take some time given that they were excavating the foundations. We were staying for 4 days and immediately asked to cancel our booking or obtain a significant discount - the owner was unwilling to cancel the booking and offered a 25% discount for our stay referring us to Booking.com if we were unhappy. Booking.com were excellent and I believe refunded 40% of the booking themselves.

Very friendly reception by owner, who is fully supportive. Stunning views from the many terraces,well equipped with chairs and benches, huge living room with several sofas , large dining table. Comfortable beds, lots of high quality towels. Central heating working well (we needed in the evenings during April). Kitchen has everything you may need. Mani area around...!

Bathrooms do not fully live up to the (otherwise very high) standard of the villa:a bit small and no separate toilet. Kitchen is a bit overloaded with all the equipment, dishes, pots, coffees, food etc. , Not entirely clean there.

We had a great stay. The view from the terraces surrounding the house is great. The house also has the ideal location for going to Aeropoli, visiting Mani, and we had a lovely afternoon in the Limeni bay where we saw sea turtles. The house has everything needed, and we were welcomed by the friendly owners.

The view cannot be beaten! Michael was super helpful, such a great host. We loved it and would return in a heartbeat!

The location is close to limeni and Areopolis but unless you have a car, be prepared for quite a walk that we wouldn’t suggest. We had a car so it was not an issue for us.

Amazin house with out-of-this-world view. Perfect for a friends/family vacation. Sourroundings are not overrun and nature is beautiful. Highly recommended!
