We had a very lovely stay at Gîte Les Tilleuls! The four children (age 7-16) enjoyed the big garden a lot - the swings, playing football, petanque and hide-and-seek. The eight adults enjoyed the meals around the long garden table. And the baby (1.5 yrs old) was happy with the toys, the high-chair and the cot. So all in all it was a happy family stay. The communication with Michael (the owner) was very smooth.

We were 10 adults and an infant and this property was perfect for our Birthday weekend . Easy access , warm and cosy and Lots of space . Good eating and seating area . The garden looked great but unfortunately the weather didn’t allow us to use it apart from a short game of Boules .

a really wonderful quiet get away. we came with a bunch of young children, and everyone had a wonderful time. accommodation was clean and comfortable, lovely big garden, surrounded by lots of lovely countryside. lots of nearby farms, noone speaks english around the area so be prepared!!

This property was everything we wanted and more besides, perfect for our family group of 8 adults, 3 children and 2 dogs. Loads of space for us all, equipped with all we needed, and a beautiful huge secluded garden with a great view. The nearby village of Samer is delightful too, and only a short drive to great beaches. We hope to be back next year!

Having stayed in countless gites over the years, I found this to be up there with the best. Spacious, spotless and equipped for everything, down to plastic plates and cups for the kids. Lovely quiet location, but within a mile or so of Samer which has all you need. I would highly recommend this to anyone, whether looking for a full holiday or just a long weekend as we have just enjoyed.

We liked the house, it was enough rooms for all of us. Nice view and we love the space. Away from it all!

We had a wonderful time here. There were 4 adults and 5 children and we had room for a few more. The house was well equipped and in great condition. The garden was amazing and the kids loved being outside in the beautiful French fresh country air. We made full use of the outside area for eating, BBQing and drinking red wine in the evening. Our host Michael was incredibly accommodating and full of local information. He made our stay that extra bit special. All communication before and during our trip was answered quickly and with utmost sincerity. I would definitely recommend a stay here and enjoy the peace along with the amazing sunset while you sip your favourite tipple in the evening whiling the night away! Thanks Michael, see you again soon.

Exactly what we expected for a large family (9 adults, 2 children, 3 dogs!). The house was perfectly sized, we could relax and stay together in the living area. Great extra point: the wellness & beauty center just next door, owned by the owners. The treatment that I offered myself was really good: organic products, nice little place, comfort, and very skilled esthetician! I'd love to go back. Stéphanie

Het huis is voorzien van alle comfort dat je nodig hebt. Alles was in goede staat en goed onderhouden. In de keuken was alles wat je kon bedenken aanwezig, zelfs kinder eetgerei en -bestek. Alle bedden waren gedekt ook al waren we maar met 7 volwassenen. Het huis ligt wat afgelegen maar goede uitvalbasis voor uitstapjes. Er is een fijne en ruime tuin. Afspraken met eigenaar verliepen zeer vlot. Bij aankomst was het huis heerlijk verwarmd met de pelletkachel. Gezellig!

We received a very warm welcome from owner Michael who met us at the door and provided us with all the relevant information we needed. The gîte was everything we had anticipated it to be from the description and photos that we had seen. It was extremely clean, modern, spacious, warm and inviting. The lengthy table was ideal for our family. It was reminiscent of the tables we have seen in other gîtes and in the homes of French families that we know. This link with the traditional whilst being very modern worked extremely well. I laid claim to the rocking chair as soon as I laid eyes on it! The wood pellet burning stove provided lots of heat but without any smell. It was particularly welcome on chilly, late-October mornings. The garden is very large but the highlight for us was the boules pitch, the scene of fierce encounters between the generations! Not one member of the family complained about the beds and bedrooms, nor the two showers and bathroom. We all greatly appreciated the provision of wi-fi which handled our demands pretty well. The kitchen was compact and provided all the implements and utensils needed for cooking family-sized meals. Speaking of meals, a visit to Le Clos des Trois Tonneaux in Samer is definitely to be recommended. Also in Samer, less than 1½ miles away, are excellent boulangeries, boucheries/charcuteries, a marché and an ample number of cafés. There is an Intermarché supermarket in Samer but we preferred the Carrefour which was about 15 minutes away in Nesles. Without doing too much driving there are umpteen beaches within easy reach, our favourites being Le Touquet and Hardelot. In recent years Hardelot has seen a great deal of work on improving the whole town and promenade. We have been calling in there on our way to various places for about 12 years and the difference is remarkable. Some good restaurants, cafés and fast food establishments cater for just about anybody's taste. Also within easy reach are Boulogne (chateau worth visiting), Montreuil-sur-Mer (great ramparts and medieval town) and St. Omer where the nearby La Coupole is a must for anyone with even the remotest interest in the World Wars of the 20th Century. All-in-all we would recommend this gîte to anyone, particularly those who don't want to travel too far after reaching France yet are prepared to explore the area as there are wonderful places to be found that cater for all ages.

A modern, well presented property with everything you need. Attentive and friendly owners next door a distinct advantage. Loved the area with quick access to the coast and dog-friendly beaches. For those with dogs, please note that the garden is not secure, so bring a stake and tie-out cables. No local off-the-lead walks but recommend the beaches and a lake at Desvres where they can run free. Overall, highly recommended.

We have been coming as a family to this region of France for many years. It is a lovely area with pretty villages, excellent restaurants, wide clean beaches,,historic towns (eg Montreuil) and not too far from the Channel ports. This was our first stay at Les Tilleuls and we were not disappointed. The house is spotlessly clean and has everything you could need for a great holiday. The beds were all made up and clean towels in all the bathrooms. Perhaps the greatest plus however is the owner Michael for whom nothing is too much trouble. We had met Michael through other properties we had rented for which he was managing agent and we found him extremely helpful. So, when we booked his property Les Tilleuls we knew the house would be perfect. Its design means it is equally suitable for large groups or a small family. The wifi works fine and we even managed the satellite TV without asking for help from the grandchildren. To sum up Les Tilleuls lives up to all previous complimentary reports.

11 friends and I stayed here for a long weekend and don't have a bad word to say about it! House was beautifully clean when we arrived, with all beds made and toilet roll, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets provided. Plenty of crockery and kitchen utensils to cater for all of us. Wifi and TV supplied. Garden was a great size, with nearest neighbors far enough away to not worry bout noise complaints. Terrace and BBQ area were a lovely addition (particularly with the awning!) The only thing I can think of is that the nearest 'town' (very small) is a half hour walk away and everything else (including beach) is at least half hour drive away. But we quite liked the exclusivity of this.

We had a great weekend with our friends in this lovely holiday house. The description on internet was certainly accurate regarding the location, facilities, ... Everything was clean and we loved the big space and comfortable accomodation. When we arrived we had a nice talk with the owner. We could call him at any time when we had a question. We certainly would recommend this property to friends and family. We even think about returning in 2017 with our friends. If you want a peaceful holiday in the countryside yet be close enough to reach the attractive towns of Nord Pas de Calais and wonderful beaches then Les Tilleuls at Tingry is the place to stay. The house is spacious and airy, has everything included that you could possibly need and the grounds are large and well maintained with lots of room for ball games etc. My family - six of us - stayed here and were met by the owner Michael who showed us the ropes.He was kind enough to allow us to bring two dogs and also fixing up for them to visit a local vet to fulfil the requirements of the Pet Passport. Eating outside was a pleasure with plenty of chairs and space for all. The barbecue was well used and the local food first class. There is a Carrefoure supermarket a five minute drive away With two children and two dogs we spent a lot of time at Hardelot Plage where either side of the blue flags is a designated area for dogs and the beach is patrolled regularly by safety officers. The beach goes on for ever and is soft sand with dunes behind for exploring. Le Touquet was charming with lots of reasonably priced restaurants all with outdoor eating areas. If you hanker after a larger town Boulogne is an easy drive a little further north. Altogether an excellent choice of accommodation in a rural setting with easy access to other attractions for all the family.

Last january when we were looking for properties to rent for our summerholiday Les Tilleuls was on top of our shortlist. By coincidence we found out the gite is owned by Michael and Danielle. Last year we booked a house in Merlimont plage also rented out by their company Pied à Terre so there must be something with their properties which draws our attention :-)) We knew on forehand we booked the perfect place for our holiday. Everything mentioned in the description and in all of the reviews is true. We had a great stay last june/july in Les Tilleuls. We, a family of three, never felt the house was too big, espacially loved the garden and the peace and quiet of Tingry, the house was spotlessly clean, and the Wi-Fi was perfect. The lovely countryside offers great walking and the fabulous beaches are only a stonethrow away so all ingredients are present for an unforgettable holiday in the beautiful area of the cote d'opale. We enjoyed the hospitality of our great neighbours very much and happy to say.....See you all in september.

Les Tilleuls has everything you need for a fantastic break away. The accommodation itself is impeccably clean, well-appointed, spacious, comfortable and welcoming. This is our second visit to Les Tilleuls because we value everything that is has to offer. The gite is spacious and flexible to cater for larger parties, yet does not feel too big when holidaying as a smaller party. With two small boys the large, enclosed garden is a fantastic benefit. With swings on offer and many outdoor games available the children would be happy to spend all of their time there – a bonus when relaxing ‘at home’ amongst the beautiful countryside setting. The gite is beautifully kept and maintained. The hosts (Michael and Danielle) have made updates since our last visit a year ago, keeping it fresh and comfortable. We very much enjoyed the new wood burner. For a particularly chilly week at the end of March, this was a real luxury. The accommodation is well equipped for relaxing there – games & toys for the children, childrens tv channels for chilling out / escaping bad weather. Also games, books and dvds for the adults, in English & French. The kitchen is well kitted out, there are plenty of towels available & the beds are comfortable. The hosts are exceptional. Michael is very approachable and responsive to any needs you may have & in addition very knowledgeable about the local area & was happy to spend time when we asked him, advising of places of interest / suitable activities. Thank you Michael, we appreciate it, particularly when the gite also offers a substantial amount of literature to read about the area. Tingry itself is ideally situated for sampling a wide variety of adventures; fortified towns, beautiful beaches, vibrant, cultural towns, amusement parks, aquarium, land yachting, golf, tennis… You really can do it all… if you want to. We chose to split our time between exploring & relaxing at the gite. Some mornings spent leisurely 'at home', yet able to reach the many areas of interest for the afternoon, even driving to Belgium for lunch one day! A local supermarket in Samer is a few minutes’ drive away, though there are many restaurants within easy distance should you want to dine out. This part of the world is beautiful & so accessible. With two little boys who do not like being confined to the car , to be able to experience ‘real’ France is truly wonderful and Les Tilluels is absolutely the perfect place to do it. We’ll be back!
