Los Cocos provides fairly basic accommodations but what sets them apart is the quality of the staff. Marlon, his family and his staff are incredibly helpful and accommodating every step of the way. The food is typical Nicaraguan fare cooked beautifully with generous portions. We were always met with smiles. As we are practiced our Spanish, the Los Cocos team were patient and worked with us to ensure that expectations were well communicated. They spent time with us and got to know our children. The space is incredibly safe and the location is excellent, being directly across from playa Santa Cruz and the Saturday market. If you need a taxi, Marlon is more than willing to drive you wherever you need to go in a comfortable pick up truck. He can help you arrange horse tours, vehicle rental, kayak tour, hiking tour and whatever else you can imagine on the island. We have returned to Los Cocos twice, and we couldn't imagine staying at any other hotel on Isla de Ometepe!

We have nothing to complain about. I suppose that warm water in the shower would have been nice, but this is not a commonality in Nicaragua, and we had no expectations of a hot shower.

Soy una mujer que viaja sola y no sabe conducir, por lo tanto es muy importante la cercanía que el hostel tiene para las conexiones de autobus, de restaurantes y playas. Puedes comer en el restaurante que tiene precios convenientes y la comida es contundentes. El dueño y Eduardo en recepción son personas muy amables y atentos. Tuve un percance para subir el volcán y el dueño no tuvo inconveniente en entender y devolverme un día pagado, que no podría hospedarme. No cualquiera devuelve el 100% con buena disposición.

El personal es muy agradable, las habitaciones correctas, camas comodas y el baño correcto. Todo limpio. La playa de santa cruz esta cruzando la calle, y otros puntos de interes como ojo de agua a 10 min en coche o bus.

La ducha funcionaba un poco mal, los taquilleros no se podian usar porque no funciona el cierre. El wifi sule dejar de funcionar de tanto en tanto. NO HAY COCINA DE USO COMUN.

Great location, staff is super helpful and nice. Restaurant and reception area is also nice, comfortable and green. Rooms are basic but comfy with fans. It's windy and cool at night so you don't need any AC or even fan.

Los Cocos Hostal is directly across from Los Cocos beach. It was central to other restaurants and the kiteboarding school that I was taking classed from. The Los Cocos bar and restaurant had pretty good hours, really good food, and cold beer. It was mostly quiet enough to read and do work at. The staff was exceptionally friendly and made me feel welcome. I had a private room with private bathroom and shower. The room was small but very clean and had what I needed.

Realizing that this is a hostal I would point out that the room was really noisy both during the day and at night: screaming kits, loud neighbors, slamming doors, music across the street. A bit more that what you would expect but still a hostal. Also, the power and internet went out twice while I was there. I think this is systemic on the island and not just to Los Cocos. It didn't affect me too much but would have if this was a working vacation.
