The room was spacious and very well set out and very clean ,the staff were friendly and helpful We stayed in to eat at night and was beautiful, hot and a good service not waiting long either everything was cooked to our liking

Location for my purpose was perfect as I was riding Pedal the Peaks. Building looked good with nice parks around it and it had a friendly bar used by locals.

The extension lead handing under the desk was a bit unattractive but I did like the room

The public toilet location, unfortunately, unfortunately allows some odour to go into the lower hall, it doesn't disturb you where the rooms are though.

bar area was a little cramped. carpets where dirty and needed a good clean, only thing letting it down

The room (#2) was big, had a nice 4 poster bed and was quiet and comfortable and quite clean. The price of the room was very good value in these terms. The documented check in was 4pm, but i arrived around 1pm and they let me in which was good.

The shower (its a converted bath) had a slip mat, but it was ineffective. I slipped and smashed my head incredibly hard against the wall and as there were no handle rails or any way to break my fail I also went over and broke my toe. There was no management to be found to communicate this to. I raised the incident to a cleaner who said she would pass this on to management. She seemed sympathetic and I believe she would have done. A week on I haven't heard anything back from the hotel to see if I am ok. I would say the room is good value but if you are not steady on your feet I would be very careful in the shower. I am an athletic middle-aged male and somehow managed to go flying.

The room was a good size, quiet and comfortable. The staff were very helpful when we arrived late in the evening and even though the restaurant was shut they set us up with plates and cutlery in the bar to eat the Chinese we'd found in Matlock. Location was perfect for visiting Chatsworth and the local area. Matlock is not far and had a great allergy friendly restaurant on the main street.

Lovely room with a four poster bed and all the facilities you need for a comfortable stay. The staff are friendly. The restaurant serves lovely food at reasonable prices. The place is very clean we will definitely stay again.
