We had two superior double rooms which were spacious, light and nicely decorated. The beds were super comfortable with high-quality sheets and good pillows. The staff are very kind and helpful and we found the breakfast buffet to be one of the best we have ever had in a hotel.
The pool was overcrowded with not enough sun loungers.

Nice room - very good breakfast - lots of variety; one of the few that does an extra effort. Enjoyable outdoor seating possible.
the hotel is so huge, difficult to find your way / if you wanted to eat diner and you did not want to eat at the main one which had buffet only, you had to make a reservation online / I found the whole experience of online booking rather unpersonal and prefer flexibility.

Beautiful location. Very quiet. Beautiful garden. Space for everyone inside, outside and around te swimming pools. Kindness of the staff
A long way to reach the rooms, with stairs, which gives a lot of problem to people with a kind of handicap. Confused maps of the holiday village. Lack of cleanliness in the internal roads of the village. Decidedly mediocre cuisine

The room was very comfortable with a beautiful sea view. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was spacious with good lighting and plenty of hot water. The breakfast buffet was amazing and delicious with a huge choice. The hotel staff are helpful, friendly and professional and the hotel runs smoothly and efficiently. There is lots to do at this hotel- including a daily schedule of classes such as yoga and gym classes. The gym itself is very well equipped with plenty of up-to-date equipment. There is often evening entertainment in the bar area.
The only negative is the food at the pool bar consists of sandwiches only. The ones we had were not great. It would be good to have a few salad options.

Without a doubt the entertainment team and the fitness coach were what made the trip so special. They went above and beyond to make our holiday the most fun week - memories we will remember forever. Not only are they such wonderful people to be around but the activities are genuinely so valuable - from table tennis, workouts, dance classes, personal training, to evening shows and team sports. THANK YOU Enzo, Alejandro, Daniella, Elena, Jesus, Juanma and team! I wish we could spend every day with you guys!

The staff and location were fabulous. We only booked breakfast which was excellent. Good quality products, very fresh, well displayed and always topped up.A short walk took you to the Golf clubhouse with its helpful and friendly staff, beautiful ocean views and tasty snacks and delicious drinks.Pool areas were well maintained and towels were free. The lift down from the cliff top hotel to beach and Laurel Restaurant area worked very well but be aware there are some steep steps. The Trattoria seved good food and features a Lobster tank. The lift allowed for a half hour stroll into Playa Santiago, but again, many restaurants were closed (end of season maybe, worth checking out ).Pick up the small ferry to San Sebastian 17.50 € each way and more relaxing than taxi ride!)
We were disappointed that only 2 of the advertised5 on site restaurants were open.We also had appalling wi fi reception in the cottage.Check in was always queued and the check in app didn't help much with that. App wasn't working for room service.

My daughter and I came with an open mind as we hadn't had time to think ! We loved the place and managed to eat our meals on the balcony of the main restaurant by arriving at 7pm or waiting to after 8.30. The breakfast was wonderful as was the evening meal in the main restaurant.
Everything was perfect

The hotel is in a beautiful spot overlooking the sea and the architecture is pleasant.
The room's ambience is stuck in the '90s and our room was not clean. We found bushes of dust and hair in the bathroom.

Beautiful green territory, ocean view from the room, quick check-in to rooms located nearby, as requested, availability of a baby cot, good cleaning, kettle (coffee, tea) in the room, minibar, safe.
Superior room very comfortable and clean, great pools, lovely area downstairs with paid restaurant
Very noisy in the morning, you can not sleep. They drive past the rooms with coffee and tea, talking loudly. The main dining room is dirty, the table is set for a long time, the food for dinner does not match the cost, there are a lot of cockroaches under the table.

I loved the pools that they have and all the fun activities the staff do through out the day and at night when they perform the shows.
There isn’t a lot of food option when it comes to breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would add more space to the buffet and make sure the drinks are cold.

would have preferred a balcony rather than ground floor

Very large, resort style hotel sitting on a high cliff above the beach and adjacent village, with wonder views of the bay and ocean. Possibly the main employer in La Gomera. Getting there is quite a ride, so not recommended for short stays, minimum one week. Most impressive feature is the elevator from the cliff down to the beach.
Housekeeping walked into my room several times during my stay without checking my attendance first, which produced some awkward moments. When checking-out my bill contained items I had not booked, for example a visit to the day spa for two people although I was travelling solo and had been out on a bike tour for the entire day, so check your bill carefully before you pay. The food was mainly served buffet style and was rather tasteless, it was ok, but not up to the overall standard the hotel likes to achieve.
Unless you are a golfer or a passionate resort holidayer the place has not much to offer and it is definitely not a beach hotel! The beach at the bottom of the cliff where the hotel‘s „beach“ club is located, consists of huge rocks and you can’t swim there, at least not in the sea. You find a black sandy public beach around 7 mins walk from the elevator entrance at the village‘s beach front, it’s ok but nothing special.
The village has not much to offer, a nice little place, relaxed & quiet. La Gomera is rather for hikers and bikers than for ocean lovers.

Good premises, excellent buffet restaurant and breakfast, the hotel is made of many small buildings looking like a small canarian village. Although not indicated, this hotel looks like an adults only. Room with new interiors and very clean. The hotel offers a 50% discount on the very expensive ferry from Tenerife to Gomera, but only if you book directly with them and not on Booking.com .
I booked a Superior room with sea view, upper floor and terrace as per the photos and description on Booking.com . The hotel however has a batch of Superior rooms and you may get, like in my case, a ground floor room, with no terrace and only partial sea view. I felt ripped off and I complained but the hotel did not care to provide a compensation for the high price I paid. They show in the photos on Booking.com only the best Superior room they have and not also the ground floor ones I got. The reception staff is not kind and upon check-in I was not offered the porter service and I had to carry all my baggage across the hotel compound which is large and made of many ramps and steps. The car parking was full and the reception staff did not tell me that they have an outside parking available. They gave me a map to find my room which is so badly printed that it is impossible to read. The follow-up of my complaint was even met with full denial by the hotel which is simply shocking for an hotel of this standing. Booking.com customer service has been very supportive and I appreciated it.

Location, location, location!
Stunning sunrises and sunsets.
Breakfast buffet was fantastic. I was always able to get an outdoor table with a fabulous view.
Tried the evening buffet the first night. Food was fine but it was held in a brightly lit canteen type room.
Luckily I was only bed and breakfast so ate out in the village.

This is a beautiful property in a stunning location. Nice rooms and excellent pools and beautiful gardens very well looked after. Excellent breakfast buffet and good evening buffet.
The hotel has invested in a n App which has taken over and sucked the personal service out of the property. it does not work well and is a real pain. The big screens everywhere give it a corporate feel. Having to get a ticket for service is horrible apparently done yo stop German customers pushing in but they do it anyway! Do not want to feel like I am queuing in a council office in a resort. Get rid of the damn thing !!’

Excellent value - half board. The choice of buffet dishes was exceptionally high standard. Staff are excellent - management, dealing with enquiries at reception, house-keeping staff, and those serving at the restaurants. The mini tractor transporting luggage is an excellent system - after all it's a big campus. The walks from the Tecina compound are wonderful. Access to Santiago excellent with the elevator. I moved rooms to get a better view of the ocean - my every request was met.
There was no standby massage service as the main masseuse was unwell. For a "spa hotel" that was a disappointment. Also, I had no idea of the "entertainment" programme offered for all guests. This includes an art's class, which I would have relished. The check in could have been more welcoming - with nothing assumed. It isn't explained there is a large portal in the lobby to access hotel services. This would have opened up many extra bonuses I missed.

I think this is the one good hotel on the island. The territory is amazing.
All restaurants were fully booked.

Nothing
unfriendly welcome from front of house staff. Ridiculous number system for reception. The food was terrible - all buffet style and there seemed to be no form of social distancing control around the buffet with people milling about walking in all different directions. The kitchen staff were out in the dining area with huge trolleys clearing away dishes and glasses and there was a loud incessant noise of clanging dishes all throughout dinner. It would have been quieter to eat in the kitchen! Long walk to room with poor signage and almost impossible to find your room - I asked a member of staff who was transporting suitcases and even he didn't know where my room was. I complained to the management about the terrible food and the lack of social distancing control around the buffet but they were not interested to take my complaints on board. I felt very unsafe here in the dining area due to no enforces social distancing measures taken the Covid situation. I'd never stay here again.

Location, room, excellent staff. Laurel restaurant excellent.
Swimming pools not heated as expected, buffet selection and quality not as good as it used to be.

beautiful location on a hillside overlooking the see, the rooms on many levels and you need to be fit to get to the lower rooms otherwise superb place to stay.
some balconies and patios areas are very small and not private, you can hear what your neighbours are saying so little privacy.

Fabulous location (make sure you book a sea view not just a 'partial sea view'. It is worth the extra cost. Very private rooms - you're not on top of other people's accomodation. It's cleverly laid out.
Lovely pools. Free live football matches on large screen in video room. Tennis courts if you want them. Nice bars. Good buffet breakfast and dinner If you book half-board. There are other on-site restaurants if you want to pay extra. Lift down through the cliff to the small seaside village and beach.

Anything
I was extremely unhappy with the size, design and quality of the room:
• no shelfs in wardrobe,
• only one plug in room and not close to the bed,
• cheapest and slowest hairdryer you can get,
• when you take a shower, the water is everywhere in the bathroom and even in the hallway, even if you are very careful
• no shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom, just one universal shower gel, with an awful smell
The quality of food in buffet was poor, we were two days sick from the food (we did not eat elsewhere before we got sick). Service was poor, slow and mostly unfriendly. Hard to believe you charge EUR 400 per night for such quality...

Fantastic beautiful garden. Stunning views. Big area. The elevator down to the village. Nice promenad path. It was great to have our own bungalow with the terrace. Really relaxing place! Good food. We got help with the car rental and good tips about hiking trails from the receptionist.
Phenomenally hopeless catastrophy check in. We wanted to change our Booking from one person to two at the same dubble room but it was impossible (Sorry, but how difficuilt it should be?) So, we had to book en extra room just not to make my husband sleep in the street.
One room smelled so unfresh that we had to change it. In the other room's bathroom nothing was working properly: the tap was broken, the sink was clogged, to open the shower was a challenge. The sink and the bathtub were never cleaned. Much dust on some surfaces. There was not even hair shampoo available. The sound isolation between the ropms was really bad. So , it was like a cheap guest house room for five stars price. The most overpriced place ever.

The planting all around the hotel grounds is exceptional - the staff were top class and the place runs with great efficiency and professionalism. The rooms show their age just a little but bed was comfortable and the water pressure immense. Great variety and choice in activities and restaurants and ambience - like a great giant cruise ship only … of course … on land.
the air con was not great in our room

Not much really see comments below
As requested was given a room with walk in shower. The room was dark and the wardrobes were not sufficiently long enough to hang normal length clothes. Indeed for someone like me who suffers arthritis in shoulders arms and hands the arrangement in one wardrobe, ie pulley, was too stiff. As a consequence I did not unpack. For a fully disabled person the room would not be serviceable particularly if 2 were sharing. Not enough room or comfort.
