We overall enjoyed our stay, although when tried to wash our clothes, the washer would only draw water.When we texted the number to let them know we never heard from anyone and ended up having to go to the laundry mat.

Good location for a fishing trip. Only issue was the TV in livingroom did not work ( ones in bedrooms did). We texted about the problem and was told they would text when on the way to see about it. We never received a text so assume they didn't come. Since it was a fishing trip, we weren't there much so it wasn't a big deal. Overall a very nice, comfortable place with everything needed. Really liked the rustic atmosphere of the place.. Would definitely rent again.

We really enjoyed our stay and were very happy with the house overall and the location. It was a short walk to the beach and a short drive to some really great restaurants. The cart in the shed was very helpful in getting our items to the beach and back home. The outside shower was very nice but possibly adding a curtain around it might add a privacy aspect. This was our first time staying somewhere that did not have wifi but it was a nice way to unplug. We were very disappointed at the cleanliness of the property when we arrived though. The kitchen floor was not swept well and there were many pieces of food and trash underneath the long curtains hanging down. I made the owner aware of this and he offered to send someone out to reclean the floors but at this point I had already done that myself and would have been a waste of time. During our stay I also dropped something and went to look underneath the bed for it and found water bottles and empty chip bags that had not been cleaned up. There was also sand and grit already in the shower when we arrived. The house really was great for our families trip and we definitely would stay again just hope the house would be better cleaned for our stay.

Great house

In such a fast paced world, when we walked into this little cottage it was exactly what we needed. No internet, no cable, and lots of games, beach and family time! This was one of the best vacations we have had. This little cottage has absolutely everything you could possibly need. While it’s not a five star fancy beach house, it is a perfect beach cottage with all the step into grandma’s house as a child feels!

This beautiful little house is perfect! Short walk to the beach, short drive to Carolina Beach boardwalk, and honestly at a very reasonable rate to be so close to the ocean. The house was clean and had everything we needed for a great trip!

This home never disappoints. We love staying here year after year. This house has everything thing you need. Our family looks forward to staying here each year. I was a little nervous when I saw the property manger changed from our past years . I loved Katherine as well. Tyler didn t disappoint. She was very helpful and efficient. We appreciate Roy lending his house out for other families to enjoy as well as his own.

The house was nice. Stove and fridge could use replacing. No wifi wasn't great. Would have liked to know there wasn't wifi before we went. Mattresses were not good. Hard, lumpy and basically back breaking. Upstairs bed was good. I enjoyed the stay. Found a foam mattress topper and used that from day 3 to end of stay. That upstairs futon is in a bad place it's an ankle scraper. Hard to get thru there but after hitting 3 times we remembered to avoid it. All in all its a great little cottage. Was a really good price considering location. I really liked the house.

Great stay again this year! Loved the updates! This place is a great little beachhouse in excellent walking distance from the beach. No frills but all the extras you need to make great memories! Thanks for the great experience, again! See you next year!

The house is walking distance to the beach and had everything we needed for a short vacation getaway.

The cottage is as cute and comfortable as can be--wish we could've stayed longer! Sunrise with the beach and sunset over the canal! 5 minutes from the boardwalk and we had the beach mostly all to ourselves! The only awkward but manageable thing is the laundry is out and around in the attached shed... We also wished there was more of a paved path from the exterior shower to the backdoor. It was great!!

The pictures don't do it justice. Very nice property. It was perfect for us and plenty of room. Kitchen well stocked and we were able to do lots of cooking. Easy walk to beach and no steps. Wagon, cooler and chairs provided with beach towels. All you need is clothes and food! Would come back anytime!

My husband and I stayed at Katherine’s cottage with our 12 month daughter, and we loved it. It is an amazing location - 1 minute walk to the beach and short drive to everything you need in the town. Katherine was very helpful and great at communicating with us.

Cottage was a great location and had everything we needed. Only negative was the uncomfortable beds. We would stay again.

This place had so many amenities which made it very convenient for a stay with 3 small children. Very short and simple walk to the beach. Cute, old charm. The kids loved the loft. Really appreciated having the towels, washer/dryer, beach toys and wagon,etc!

Enjoyed our short stay! House is really close to the beach as stated, loved that! Not crowed at all. Even got to wait and see if the sea turtles hatched, not yet. Needed a full moon for that! The house was clean and had everything you might need other than a beach umbrella for shade and that was easily rented and delivered for $16..... awesome! No complaints on the house at all. Now, the driveway could use some attention, like gravel as it was somewhat muddy but still usable. And the only other thing to make it better would be a privacy fence to the right as you pull in. The neighbors house there is very close and their cutie pie dogs were annoyed with us and began barking loudly when we arrived. Love dogs so that wasnt a big deal but it probably annoyed the owners. Anyways, we really enjoyed our stay! And the property owner was very prompt with messages and additional info. Very pleased and We will be back!

This house is amazing. Perfect bungalow for a family vacation. More than enough room for everyone to spread out and do their thing. The beach is so amazingly close. We would go twice a day just because it’s so easy. Literally anything you could think of using on a daily basis they have. Between lounging on the couch with throw blankets, to cooking, or even playing a good game of poker. This house has it all. Certainly the one of the best beach trips I’ve ever taken. The history of the area is also interesting as well. If you have enough to lime to explore or sight see I would take it. Such a great trip. My family is so thankful and feeling blessed after this trip. Thank you!

The only thing you need to bring is you and your things. Every other accessory was there, wagon, chairs, umbrellas, beach blankets, I could go on. This is very convenient and appreciated, will defininitely stay again.

Anyone staying here should know the house has cockroaches. We told the owner about it. And her response was that, while they have an exterminator, “it’s an old beach house, and you can’t get them all.” Aslo, despite charging a hefty cleaning fee. the toilet had hairs all over it, and there was a desiccated spider on the wall. On the positive side, the location is amazing.

This is a cute house, I really like it and so did the children. Short walk to the beach very quiet place, and very clean. Thanks I will stay again.

This was our 2nd year renting this home. We love the old style feel of the house, the location, the ease of renting. We love it all!

This house was perfect. It wasn’t as big as the one I have stayed in previous times but considering we spent most of our time at the beach the house was perfect for sleeping! It fit everyone perfectly and was so cute!! we loved it and would definitely consider staying there again!!

Proximity to the beach was great. The shed was well equipped with stuff for the beach (including boogie boards and sand toys). This is an older home that had been updated. There is some retrofitting, but they did well with the space. The kitchen is small, but sufficient. Great place for a few low key days at the beach.

Small, cute house, very clean, fully stocked, like no other place I've ever stayed at. I would recommend this place to parents with small children. It's in a good safe neighborhood. Short walk to the beach. The property manager is attentive to things you may need or have questions about. The home even comes with specific rules to do/not do and a list of the amazing things that you can do around here w/ or w/o money.

Place has so much stuff to borrow - beach chairs, a cooler, beach wagon, grills, pop-up tents - much more. I could have packed so much less! Great communication, check-in etc. Just don’t book the same week as me bc I willl be back!

The house suited our needs very well. We went out on a fishing charter needed a place to stay for a few days. The house was conveniently located near our charter and other local amenities. We would definitely stay here again.

This house is small, and a bit old. The floors aren't even, BUT it was a perfect place for our family. We went with our 6 kids (ages from 19 to 6) and had a blast. Without the frills, it made the beach and family fun the highlight. We definitely hope to come back, and soon. Also, it is worth noting the the amenities were great - good quality beach towels aplenty, beach chairs, a grill, a wagon, a canopy to take to the beach, boogie boards for the kids. So many things provided to make our beach trip great. Really well done!

This is a great place! I am never sure about size from photos since so many people stretch the photos but it was more spacious than expected. We will definitely be back! The beach just across the access is REALLY nice and clean! Not crowded at all. The house had plenty of towels and the kitchen had all the needed supplies to prep and cook food. It is a little older house but in fabulous condition and had a really charming character to it.

No cable, no internet...it was a joy!
