I've stayed in the same building before so I expected some age, but this unit looks like it hadn't been upgraded in 40 years. All the furniture was old and worn, several lights didn't work, there were only one or two 3 wire outlets in the unit, and other 2 wire outlets had old-style wood covers that didn't allow plugging in a phone charger. The AC was set to 70 and couldn't be turned lower and the bedroom was always about 5 degrees warmer. It took almost 12 hours before the living room got to 70 (it was a hot day) and I ended up sleeping on the couch because it was too hot in the bedroom. The private balcony is built on the rooftop of the other building, the deck is rotting and the railings are flimsy. I go on these trips to relax and telework during the day and enjoy the evenings. This unit was so old and uncomfortable, I couldn't work. I left 3 days early. If you're looking for a crash pad for college kids, this might work... It reminds me of places I'd stay with fraternity brothers in the 80s.

Do not rent this place. It is a 3rd floor walk up and there has not been any maintenance on the unit ever. There was a very strong mold smell and the place is filthy. VRBO was great at helping us communicate with the host and, we did not stay at this property after seeing the condition. Public beach access is right there and parking was great.

The couch was filthy and felt like years of sunscreen and who knows what else was sticky. Didn’t want my kids sitting directly on it. The carpet must have never been washed as it made our feet black. There was a lack of the normal (to us) cleaning tools. They expect your dishes washed before you leave but leave you no dish soap and a used sponge. There’s a broom but no dust pan? Mice traps under the sink. The rails on the deck were totally unsafe and there were multiple broken chairs on the patio which made us spend 0 time out there. On top of this, they prewarn you that there is no security- meaning pretty much anyone who wanted to was welcome into the “private pool”. Would never revisit and we felt lied to by the representation of the place online.

The condo was just as shown online. It was quaint clean and in an excellent location. Roger was the rental manager I worked with and he was very accessible and easy to work with. I highly recommend this place. Again, the condo is as advertised. Very dated. But it’s clean and there is a lot of room inside which worked great for myself, my 21 yr old daughter and my best friend. Very pleased with our stay. The pool area is very nice also! (No bathroom at pool area And no elevators in the buildings here FYI) second time for me at this condo complex and yes I would stay again.

The location was great, right by the beach with restaurants nearby. Communication with the host was good, and check-in was easy. The apartment itself is very dated, and while it had everything we needed there was one annoyance: most of the electrical plugs only have the two prongs with no ground socket. That meant that we had to hunt around the apartment to find the few outlets with a ground pin in order to plug in a number of our electronics, such as laptop chargers.

This unit definitely needs upgrades, but that is how it's advertised. It's for sure over priced, but it depends on how much you value the location. I didn't expect to have to clean the unit to stay comfortably for the price we paid, and the deck with the view was not worth the $$ when the beach was only a 5 min walk. We barely used the deck. The pool is saltwater, that was awesome, but we talked to alot of people by the pool, and there are many other much nicer units in the building for same or less rent. Do your research.

We have been to Friendly Native many times. We understand that each condo has different owners and updated based on owners. I was somewhat surprised by the dated decor and furniture but the condo was clean overall (some stains on carpet and furniture) but overall it "did the trick" for us and we had a nice stay. When talking to Property Manager, he did say there was a "disclaimer" when reserving (which I did not see) and that the price was reduced due to need for updating. I would rent again as long as it was priced accordingly.

My cousin and I stayed with our 16 and 17 yr old boys. It was awesome. So much in walking distance for all of us to enjoy-food, beach, pool, stores and even scooters to rent. Being on a budget we did bring a few travel size essentials in our checked bag to avoid the grocery store (and not knowing what was there) and we are glad we did! Dish soap, trash bags, TP, coffee, filters, Kleenex, wipes, baggies. There is a convenience store a little over a block away and grocery store 1.5 mile away. We did pack our own beach towel as they are not provided and may not have been available to rent from ACT when we were there. The bbq is charcoal not gas so you would need to buy lighter and charcoal. Everything was clean and as described - yes it needs updating as stated in the description but we loved it as is!

This property needs some minor repairs and a few upgrades; lighting is not good; toilet needs attention; dishes should be replaced; bathroom sink is bad and electrical outlets need updating. Very good location-lots of food options snd very nice beach area.

I would highly recommend this property! The first condo that we rented from this owner was unfortunately damaged. He emailed me right away and upgraded us to this one. The place is very clean and very cute and comfy. He was very responsive (even when I called at 11 pm for assistance). We will definitely rent from this owner again!!

We truly had the best stay at the friendly native! The room is right across the street from the beach and was the perfect distance for little ones. Our daughter still takes naps and the large deck was perfect for the adults to hang out on while she napped. There was also a closet full of a beach things for us to use. The beach chairs, beach umbrella, roller beach bag, and more! The property was exactly as listed. I truly did feel like I was at my grandmas beach cottage, but we felt like we couldn’t have asked for a better place. We definitely will use this location for future vacation stays.

The Friendly Native room 205 may have been outdated but the balcony view was wonderful . Upon arrival cleanliness was great. They could have provided more towels upon arrival especially for 4 adults and 2 children . The pullout couch bed was terrible to sleep on . The place was so convenient to pool, beach, and restaurants. Too bad laundry facilities were not closer. We will be coming back next year and renting same place.

Good for a short stay
The manager was easily accessible and I appreciate that. The location is amazing, the area is amazing, the complex is amazing! However- I will say the cleanliness of this property needs to be addressed specifically in the kitchen. There we lots of dead roaches in the cabinets of the kitchen as well as some very dirty and old dishes. The inside drawers of the kitchen were absolutely horrendous- clumps of hair and dirt. We didn’t step foot in the kitchen except for getting beverages out of the fridge.
The living room furniture really needs to be updated as it feels old and musty. I am also worried about the air quality as the vents are completely caked with dust.
We didn’t spend much time in the unit so I looked past a lot of this but if you’re planning to stay for awhile I’d suggest double checking some of these areas.
If you are just planning to sleep here- you’ll be fine. But I would never recommend eating or preparing food there.

We came for a mom getaway, but this place would have also been perfect for a family! Great location, a 2 min walk to an amazing beach, all you need for relaxation after an active day.

Our experience was good, just felt like we were at grandmas house as it is dated from that time period. My wife and I, are not young , so it fit our needs.

Just FYI there are a lot of things included in this property that where not listed . There is a closet that has beach chairs ,a soft rolling cooler and many other beach needs . There is also items like wine openers, and basic kitchen items . There was a lot of basic bathroom items as well .
This place is a very nice quiet family stay ( I didn’t stay during a holiday ). The whole building was very respectful ie no loud party’s or blasting music . This is the best unit in The facility. It has the largest deck overlooking the pool .

This condo is dated as the very accurate post says. But it's excellently located, had everything we needed, and an awesome view. The beach is just steps away. The private balcony is great for relaxing.

Relaxing getaway
There may be some minor maintenance to be performed but the property was described appropriately in the listing. We enjoyed waking up and watching the gulf while drinking coffee on the private deck. The deck and view of the water was important to us.

Great location, but place needs work.
The place is in a great location and the pool area is just as good.
But, condo we stayed in is very dated and needs work. The shower had no water pressure and the carpet was stained. The outdoor deck is very worn and needs work. Overall - we enjoyed are stay, but would never stay in this unit again.

Loved it!
Condo was laid out great, had everything we needed for the week. Loved that it was right across from the beach, and the roof porch with a great view of the beach. The heated pool was really nice and clean. Enjoyed sitting in the pool area.
