The booking process with Jane and Douglas was flawless and our questions about the house and the nearest town were quickly answered. The house is perfect for a larger family with children and there was nothing we missed in the kitchen (possibly a gas grill). Good set of large bowls, pots, etc. Annoying is the large furniture in the kitchen that partially blocks the exit to the back porch. But the best thing about the house is a heated pool which is worth a lot with children who want to swim all the time. The bedrooms are large with 3 fully equipped bathrooms. There is a 4th smaller bathroom behind the kitchen. We had the bedroom upstairs where the bed creaks and squeaks (needs some service). The beds are perceived as hard if you are used to soft mattresses. All in all, a very nice house that I can recommend for a larger family.

This property does not disappoint, everything promised was delivered from the pool, BBQ area and inside spaces it had everything a family needs for a really relaxing holiday. The kitchen was possible one of the best equipped we have ever had including up market plates (unbreakable) etc for pool side. We have all agreed we cannot find fault , but maybe a knife sharpener 🙂🙂🙂

We had such an amazing time in this villa, it was everything we could have asked for as a large family of all ages. The pool was perfect, we certainly made use of it & all the fab pool toys for the children. The surrounding gardens are amazing, bbq is a must for evening meals with it lovely big table. Actual villa is huge, pictures don’t do it justice at all. Each room is very spacious & comfortable with big windows & aircon. We hired just one car between us which we used for the supermarket & the odd run to town but taxis are ok to use. Just make sure you write the full address of the villa somewhere, rooting through emails & WhatsApp’s at 2am after a few super bocks wasn’t our best moment! The villa is away from everything but the facilities more than make up for it. Living space was important for us which is why we chose the villa. We enjoy cooking & eating together, then a few drinks once the children are in bed and it worked perfectly. Although we did venture out too, the towns are too nice to miss! Would also highly recommend and boat trip from Olhao, we went with Sabina tours. Worth every penny & a great way to see a bit more of beautiful Portugal. Back to the villa though…. Literally everything we needed and more. Don’t even hesitate, we are not creatures of habit but would seriously consider staying here again. Our only regret is not booking 2weeks :,( super clean & the property manager was always on hand & nothing was too much trouble. Communication with her and the owners was faultless. Thank you so much for having us :)!

The house was lagre, comfortable and with aircondition in every room. Nice outside area with a quite large heated pool and enough sunbeds (we were a total of 9). The only thing to be aware of is that the house is located a bit far from restaurants (except from 2 -we visited «Marias» twice - we enjoyed it) and supermarkets so I would recommend to rent a car. Very good follow-up from the owners and the local host Ines (we reported a problem with aircond in the evening and early next day it was fixed!).

An excellent choice for a villa in the Eastern Algarve away from some of the tourist excesses further west. One master suite upstairs and three bedrooms on the ground floor. Beautifully landscaped property and a very nice heated pool. Car essential as the villa is located in a grouping of villas a little distance in land. Owners suggestions for restaurants and places in the area to see were very good. Food at Maria’s was excellent. Ate there several times.

From straight forward booking process to checking out - everything was very smooth. Great communication from Doug and Jane, and with Ines whilst we were there. Villa was amazing. Very clean and spacious. Comfy sofa and bed. Kitchen very well stocked. TV package with sky was a bonus and meant that my husband could watch all the football. Pool was amazing. The pool cover meant that it was super warm and such a pleasure to swim in. Lots of different seating areas were great for sun and shade. Also great to have a washing line. Doug and Jane have thought of everything! The quiet location suited us, yet still not far from shops via car. We went to "Maria's" restaurant and had a really good steak for a good price. It's a small restaurant at the end of a dirt track - cash only but worth a visit. WiFi was also good. thank you again Doug and Jane -we hope to visit again.

Wij hebben een geweldige vakantie gehad in deze villa voor 10 dagen. Het huis was zeer schoon en keurig onderhouden. De hele familie heeft erg genoten van het verwarmde zwembad. De communicatie met Ines was erg prettig. Wij komen zeker terug!

Bostaden infriade våra förväntningar. Polen var suverän. Möjligen behöver träden över badmintonplanen tuktas så att bollarna inte fastnar i grenarna. Hela familjen trivdes jättebra.

Espaço muito agradável. 3 quartos no piso inferior e 1 suite no piso superior com varanda. Piscina com temperatura agradável e altura máxima de 1,5m. Problemas de regulação do ar condicionado, que tiveram acompanhamento de técnico qualificado.

A good sized villa for a party of 6 adults and 1 infant. We particularly liked the landscaping of the garden and the outside eating areas. It's in a quiet location but close enough to surrounding areas to visit by car (Tavira, Baril Beach, Ayamonte etc). Having a great family run restaurant in walking distance was a real plus too. Would return without hesitation.

Beautiful Vacation in a beautiful house

Stayed with a family of four and had a wonderful time. A big and roomy house, well-equipped, nice garden with BBQ and super pool. The house and surroundings are very clean and well maintained. The house is conveniently located only 10 min by car from Olhao and 20 min from Faro. We would definitely stay there again.

The villa is superb, very well equipped with a wonderful pool. We had problems with noisy neighbours but the manager, Ines, sorted it out for us. You definitely need a car as it’s a bit of a drive to the supermarket. Portugal is still surprisingly cheap and the weather is gorgeous!

This is a truly fabulous villa for a family holiday. There is so much beautiful outside space that you won’t know where to sit! The added bonus is that all the areas were very private, you are not overlooked at all. Rooms were much bigger than the pictures show and the villa was extremely clean when we arrived. We also had a clean and change of towels and bedding after the first week. The pool was lovely and clean with a proper cover to put on overnight to keep out the bugs. Lots of great local restaurants nearby (car required) which were much cheaper than if you go further west. All in all a fabulous holiday and we hope to visit the villa again in the coming years.

En fantastisk feriebolig! Den er faktisk bedre enn bildene viser. Kjempeflotte uteområder, med både volleyballbane, flere spiseplasser, god grill, solsenger etc. Med 5 ungdommer, fire voksne og en 2-åring var det noe for alle! Boligen ligger litt avsidesliggende, så man må ha bil. Det er en restaurant i nabolaget, og den anbefales på det sterkeste! Vi fikk tre middager der, men kunne ønske vi hadde oppdaget den tidligere. Da hadde vi definitivt dratt flere ganger! (Steak on a stone MÅ prøves!) Det er flere fine byer i nærheten av boligen, mens selve området boligen ligger i er ganske dødt. Mye hus som ikke er helt ferdigbygget og lite folk å se. Derimot var det et veldig rolig område, null støy, og det var fint!

The villa was all we expected it to be from the description on the website. We found the location to be peaceful but not remote, though a car is necessary. The manager was readily available and helpful and the mid stay cleaner was very efficient. We had young children in our party and they enjoyed the space to play outside and the range of games and pool toys supplied. We would certainly recommend this property wholeheartedly.

When we first arrived at the villa we thought how great it looked, we weren't disappointed. The pool is an excellent size, plenty of room for nine of us, including the sunbeds around the pool. The different seating areas around the villa are also great. Nice BBQ. Plenty of room inside, well equipped kitchen with an added bonus of an extra fridge in the utility room, great for drinks. All the bedrooms had good sized beds which were very comfy all with air con. The recommendation to try the local bistro Casa De Pasto Do Carmo (known as Maria's) was fantastic we ate there three times, best steaks ever. Only a couple of problems we had was the TV didn't work, and also the air con in the bedroom downstairs with the double bed didn't work very well. But we spoke to the local manager and it was sorted within 24 hours. One other little criticism is the boules area - the cats seem to like using it and it was quite smelly. All in all the nine of us had a fantastic stay and would recommend it to anyone. Many thanks.

Spent a week with extended family in this fantastic villa. We had a great time, enjoying the beautiful large pool, wonderful landscaped gardens, With the added bonus of a badminton court & French boules area, which we had many a tournament on. The villa it's self was well equipped with large bedrooms, living and kitchen area.The photo's online do not show how lovely and spacious "Casa Vista Montanha" is. Well what can I say, Best Villa we have ever stayed in, wish we could of booked 2 weeks. We hope to revisit very soon. Thanks Jane, Douglas & Innes.

The villa was without doubt the best we’ve ever stayed in. It exceeded our expectations in almost every respect. There was so much space inside and out with lots of sunny or shady corners to use.

The pictures do not do the Villa justice, its more of a palace! we were granted early access due to an enforced flight change and the owners were happy to oblige. The Whole villa is very modern and the swimming pool is fantastic. we had a wonderful time at the villa and the Manager 'Ines' is fantastic and very responsive to any needs, I cannot recommend the Villa enough! If you want to visit Portugal, book this Villa, you will not regret it.

We had the most relaxing holiday in superb surroundings. The villa was very spacious, well equipped and has a lovely garden with various seating areas.We really enjoyed the very large swimming pool especially as the weather was very hot. We have visited the Eastern Algarve before, but still found plenty of new places to visit and restaurants, especially Maria's. We are looking forward to returning soon. Thank you Jane & Doug.

A great location central to lots of great places. Once you are in the villa and its lovely gardens it unlikely you will want to go anywhere else. Local shops are reasonable prices, lots of great local places to eat and not so far away from some of the more tourist laden areas. We enjoyed walking, fishing, sun bathing, and a little dancing too... don't look any further than this spot... you will not regret it... and all at a very reasonable price too.. I hope to go again

The Villa was beautiful , the photos online do not do it justice as it was far more spacious than expected . We were a large party of mixed ages and found a spot to suit everyone , be it a quiet shaded area to relax or the pool area that came complete with a great corner sofa enabling the family to relax while chatting to those enjoying the pool . The Villa has everything you could ask for , WFI and Sky for those who can't live without . Plenty of bathrooms so everyone felt like they had their own private space . The kitchen area was a great space for the whole family to socialise later in the day The children played badminton and there was an array of board games should they want some quiet time . The location itself is quiet so you do need to hire a car but you are only a short distance from numerous locations all offering something very different , the roads are quiet anytime of the day or night so exploring the area is not stressful at all . Tavira was a wonderful little town with lots of side streets offering a great choice of goods and some great buskers who encourage you to sing along giving a fantastic holiday vibe. Some of us drove to Olhao which is a fishing port on market day , offering fruit & veg and fresh fish , you can stroll along the front or take a boat trip at great prices . Olhao by night was out best evening , we found a great pizza resturant called Pizza Na Pedro with rooftop seating , ultra modern with views over the beach , fantastic service and value for money , we then moved on to Bar 62 where we sat up on the rooftop drinking cocktails and taking in the view , the barman was great fun , dancing & singing along with our group , they even supply blankets for when it gets chilly . Quarteira is a must , great shopping and cafes with a wonderful beach , a really lovely day out Overall we were a large group ranging from 12 yrs to 78 and there really was something for everyone . Totally recommend this Villa as you really couldn't ask for more from your accommodation , fantastic holiday , can't wait to visit again

Fabulous villa, beautifully furnished and very spacious with everything you need. The gardens are kept immaculate and the pool is one of the largest we have experienced for a private pool. Whilst there were only 2 of us, there is plenty of room even if all rooms are used. You do need a car to get around as there are no supermarkets within walking distance but they are only a ten minute drive. The local restaurant is just a 15 minute walk away and serves great food with a friendly service. If you're looking for a quiet holiday to get away from it all, then this certainly ticks the boxes.

There was plenty of room for two families. We really enjoyed all the different seating options for outside dining; beside the pool, in the BBQ area and on the swinging chair. This enabled us to have room for us all to spread ourselves out! The gardens were beautiful and gave lots of privacy. The villa itself was well equipped and stylishly decorated. The villa is even better than the photos on the owners direct website! The air conditioning was excellent and helped on the high August temperatures! We really enjoyed the local beaches and restaurants, which felt authentically Portuguese. Thanks Jan and Doug for letting us use your lovely villa.

As a family of 5 we like our space and you definitely get this at Casa Vista Montanha. A lovely villa and well appointed. Varied seating areas so you can escape or follow the sun. Peaceful location, which might not suit everyone, but if privacy and relaxation is what you are looking for then this is where to stay. A car is a must and you are only 5 to 15 mins drive from town and beaches. A great holiday thank you Jane and Doug for letting us borrow your villa!
