We really enjoyed our stay. The property and Mauro delivered on everything promised.

The property was well positioned at the end of a rural road but nearby to local amenities. The garden was tiered and had an excellent outdoor eating space and pool. The interior was old style decor and there was 2 shower rooms and an additional two rooms with a bath. The owner was very responsive to our needs but also did not crowd us. He even bough cakes on the middle sunday!

We had a great time for our family reunion. Lots of space to sit in large or small groups and the gardens and outdoor spaces are beautiful. The view into the valley is postcard worthy.
The house feels like a typical Tuscan villa and stays cool even on hot days. The pool is well maintained and also has wonderful views.
Mauro was very welcoming and responsive to any questions and issues we had. We really appreciated his help getting from the train station up to the house. The homemade cake and wine was also a welcome and delicious surprise. The house is beautiful but it is older, so we're thankful for Mauro and Nevio's responsiveness. At one point we lost hot water in one half of the house and they were very quick about fixing it. They really were wonderful hosts.
We would definitely come back.

We stayed at the villa with 4 other couples to celebrate our birthdays. It was the best vacation we ever had. The villa was perfect, exactly as described. Marco was a great communicator, always responding to my many requests very quickly. Due to unfortunate circumstances he was not available when we were there, but he ensured his brother and/or nephew was available to us throughout our entire stay. I would highly recommend this place to everyone! You will love it!

Fiftieth Anniversary
The property was lovely with many flowers in bloom. The house is a beautiful, very old house in the hills above Terontola. One of the kitchens is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, and miscellaneous cooking needs. There were nine of us, so there was plenty of sleeping room. We ate all of our meals at a table right outside of the kitchen. The pool was very clean and great in the unseasonable heat. Mauro was a great host, was very responsive to all of our needs and even brought us vegetables from his garden. A trick is to keep all of the shutters closed during the day and then open them at night to let the cool air in. Then the house stays nice and cool during the day. We would go back again!

Spacious and airy family getaway with breathtaking views
Mauro was a great host, easy to communicate with and happy to help with anything we needed. The place is so lovely, a real Tuscan villa, traditionally finished and furnished, with 2 identical side by side 3 bedroom/ 2 bathroom apartments with nice decor, comfortable beds and very clean.. Lots of outdoor eating and relaxing spaces, a great pool area, covered porches, ping pong table, trampoline ,( kids loved that) and remote enough to really enjoy time away from hustle and bustle. Terontola only 2 kms away, Lake Trasimeno and Cortona, a medieval gem of a hilltop town, both only 10 min away by car. Last 300 metres of road up to the property a bit rough and pot- holy but we got used to it, you just have to drive slowly for that farm road section! Clean air, olive groves and as a surprise a fantastic secret garden with an abundance of produce to pick that Mauro let us use. So great. Our family did a few close by day trips ( Perugia, Siena, Montalcino) but mostly we loved hanging out together at Celle del Farinaio. A great place to book your holiday.

The house was perfect. It is located in a beautiful spot. The location was very good for a star trip. The hostess was nice and generous. He kept surprising us with perfect pastry and more. We recommend this place very much.

The best villa we’ve rented so far!!!
We very enjoyed our week in Cortona. Everything that you can read in the other comments are true. What we have liked the most was the loclation (no one around) the swimmingpool the pizza owen and the argentinian grill!
It’s the perfect place to spend some time with your family or with some friends! We hope to come back next year! Thanks for your kindness Mauro and for making sure we had everything we needed!

Lovely Villa
We were given a very warm welcome by the owner Mauro on arrival. The villa is in a very quiet and tranquil area with a lovely pool and view. We made good use of the bbq and pizza oven making our own pizzas one evening. Mauro left us a basket of his tomatoes and peppers and was an excellent owner leaving us to ourselves but giving lots of advice when we needed it. Thank you!

Our family holiday in Tuscany
We had a wonderful holiday with uour family. our two sons and theri wives, four grandchildren and some friends who stayed for 5 days. Upon arrival we were greeted by Mauro who explained the necessary details and gave us a run down of the area and the options for visits etc.
The house was very homely, we had lots of space, seperate bedrooms for the children, lots of space outside to sit and have our meals.
The area was very nice. we visited a number of interesting places, Lake Trasimeno, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Siena. All very interesting. We visited some lovely restaurants to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and my 70th birthday. It was a real family get together, which is getting more and more difficult as eveybody is always so busy. But we managed to have 2 weeks of quality time together. And thanks to Mauro, who was always at hand with information, fruit from his garden and lovely wine, our stay stay at Villa Le Celle del Farinaio was a great succes. We will cherish this for a long time!
Grazie mille Mauro!

In the Hills of Cortona
The villa was a great place for our family of 10, consisting of grandparents, parents, and grandchildren (teenagers). The structure of the house was perfect for us - one building with 2 almost identical apartments, which connected. We were able to cook and eat together, outside most of the time, but also get away to have time alone. The property is on levels - house on one, gardens terraced and lower than the house, swimming pool above, and far enough away from the house so happy yells of the pool occupants were not heard. We ALL enjoyed the place and would have liked to remain longer. Cortona is a great location - in Tuscany, but so close to Umbria.

Family Vacation Tuscany
The owner, Mauro is fantastic! He greeted us with a hug making us feel welcomed. He and his family baked pizza and salad on the day of our arrival. It was wonderful. For my grandson’s 18th birthday his wife baked a delicious tiramisu.
The villa was great. The kids loved the pool, trampoline as well as the football table.
All in all our entire family enjoyed our week’s stay.

Familievakantie in Farinaio

Enchanting Villa!!
This is villa is well located close to Montepulciano, Assisi, Siena, Lake Trasimeno.
The villa itself is very spacious with comfortable well decorated rooms.
The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we could think of.
The deco is true Tuscany style.
The gardens outside are beautifully landscaped with hide away corners.
We used the fire places in the evenings which created an intimate atmosphere.
We had a wonderful Tuscany meal prepared by Mauro and his family. Not to be missed.!! Don't have too much of the starter as the 5 course meal was very filling.
Mauro is a very attentive and humble host. Nothing was too much to ask and he made our stay very comfortable.
We took away memories that will last a lifetime.
Thank you Mauro and your family. You are such nice people.

Charming house in lovely area
We had a fabulous fortnight at Le Celle del Farinaio. Mauro was a very helpful and generous host, with information on and suggestions about what to do in the area. He welcomed us with home grown tomatoes and pastries from the local bakery and delivered home grown figs no less than 3 times over our stay. When one member of our group asked if he could lend the a needle and thread he took their item away with him and returned with it fully repaired within the day. Any concerns/questions we had were answered or attended to immediately. He couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful.
The villa is actually 2 semi detached houses, each with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. However we used it as one and it didnt cause any problems as you could go from one to another both at the front and back of the property. We were 3 families with young children and there was plenty of space for us all. The open plan layout downstairs was perfect when preparing food. Each house also had a laundry room, one of which we used as a baby’s bedroom as there was plenty of room for a cot and it was nice and dark. The gardens were lovely with lots of different places to sit and enjoy the wonderful view. We all loved the pool, table tennis, table football, trampoline and pop up badminton. There were also a few pool inflatables and skittles so lots to keep us entertained. The children loved blackberry picking in the garden.
The area felt a bit more off the beaten track than more central Tuscany and we enjoyed visiting the lake towns of Passignano sul Trasimeno and Castiglione del Lago. Cortona was lovely and Siena was roughly an hour away and an easy half day trip. The children loved the Waterpark near Monte san Savino half an hour away.
We also enjoyed a pizza night at the house - Mauro and his family made lots of different pizza which we hadn’t tried before and they were really delicious. We would recommend confirming price etc before though as although we loved it it was more expensive than going to a restaurant.
Overall we had a great time and would thoroughly recommend the villa.

Italian Villa
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the villa. From the moment we arrived, Mauro and his family welcomed us and made us feel very comfortable.
We walked to the local shops, took day trips to the thermal springs, to Arezzo, Cortona and Orvieto, nowhere was really far away.
Mauro's wife made us a lovely strawberry tart for our arrival and Mauro gifted us with some local pastries on our first morning. Fredrico ( Mauro's son ) cooked us pizza on our first night, as we were arriving quite late in the day. The pizzas were lovely and Fredrico is extremely talented but we were did feel the cost of this was quite high.... We should have confirmed a price beforehand.
All in all, the Villa was perfect for our needs and Mauro and his family were very accommodating to our needs. We would certainly not hesitate to recommend this place to others.

Wonderful property, tranquil and accessible
Just home from a wonderful stay at the beautiful Villa le Celle del Farinaio with 3 generations of our family. The villa is perfect, situated in the tranquil Tuscan countryside but in close reach of civilisation, enabling us to visit the local towns and to easily reach the more famous cities. The accommodation worked well for us as a group of grandparents and 2 families. Excellent facilities and made full use of the pool. Lovely woodland surroundings and beautiful gardens. The owner and his family are wonderful and go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay. Thank you so much Mauro, Nevio and Gabriella xx

Bellissio and peaceful views everywhere you look both at the Villa and the surrounding Tuscan Vistas
Dear Mauro and Family,
Mille Graci!!!! Staying at your villa was a highlight of our Italy vacation! We miss being there already! The Villa was decorated so beautiful and we had all the comforts of home. Thank you for making your villa seem like our home away from home. The amenities were plenty and we enjoyed the hammock, relaxing chairs, beautiful flowers and landscape, bocce, swimming pool and trampoline. Great area to hike and amazing views of Lake Trasimeno. The villa location was perfect to visit many wonderful hill towns such as Cortona, Montepulciano and Castiglione Del Lago. The train station is very close and made visiting Florence easy.
Graci to our amazing chef, Federico, who made our arrival dinner of brick oven pizza(the best pizza we have ever eaten) and our departure dinner of roasted chicken/potatoes, homemade spinach ravioli, la torta della nonna and my beautiful surprise of Tiramisu cake!! The cake was delizioso and a memory I will always treasure!!!! We hope to stay in your beautiful villa again sometime on future travels to peaceful Tuscany!
Molto fortuna to all of you and God Bless!

Absolutely the Most Perfect Place to Call Home
We couldn't have picked a more perfect place to spend our week in Italy. The house was perfect for our group of 8 women with ages ranging from 56 to 84! It worked wonderfully for a home base to retreat from after a day of touring local towns. We got lost on the way there from Venice...but Mauro and his son, Fedrico saved the day by meeting us and showing us the way. They had a welcome home dinner waiting for us and it was so amazing and a blessing for us 8 very tired travelers. Marcos even started a wonderful fire for us to snuggle next to as we drank the bottle of wine they left. Then the next morning, Marcos brought fresh pastries for breakfast! OMG! The accomidations were better than expected. Great beds, great baths and an awesome view! We hired Fedrico - to be our Chef for 4 evening meals. Fedrico worked with our budget and created wonderful italian dishes. Those truly were the most appreciated and enjoyed evenings there. We had a couple days at the villa where we just stayed home and enjoyed the views & hiked up the mountain behind the villa to an awesome old church and met the neighbors. It is my plan to repeat this trip with couples next October... the weather is wonderful and not hot but just chilly enough to have a fire at night. Thank you Mauro and family. You will always be a part of our family....See you next October.

Perfect vacation!
We had two wonderful weeks with our friends, our kids and our Dogs in the house of Mauro and his family. The house is clean, very nice arranged and the view is fantastic. The pool area is at the top of the property, what creates a perfect view over Tuscany. The house is sorrounded with olive fields and wood. It`s very quiet and private there.
Owner Mauro is very hospitable and a very kind person like the whole family.
Also a highlight is the homemade Pizza dinner prepared by son Federico. Delicious!
The place is close to beautiful villages and towns like Siena, Florence, Cortona and Arezzo. Also a trip to Rome is possible.
Thank you Mauro and family for a wonderful time and we hope to come back one time!
Grazie and greetings from Munich

Fantastischer Urlaub!
We hope to see you again!

Perfect family holiday spot
Our family of 13 took over Mauro's villa for a wonderful week long reunion in June. The villa was perfect for our four families with great facilities to gather and to separate. The pool was always pristine and well attended. The pizza oven was a favorite feature. Do not miss the opportunity for a splendid meal featuring local dishes prepared by Mauro's very talented son with the support of Mauro and his wife. A true highlight! Once we found the villa and got the hang of remotely opening the gate and gunning our van up the driveway we found the villa conveniently located to enjoy day trips to Lake Trasimeno, Cortona, Sienna and Firenze.

This is a unbelievable nice, beautiful and cultivated property !
The owner Mauro is the friendliest and attentive person you can desire...We had a great time there and were everyday amazed about the love the owner created his house, the terraces and the gardens.
The location is perfect to check the surroundings and the famous Tuscany citys. But it´s hard to detach the comfort of this house for a moment...
Thank you Mauro for everything, it was a great stay !!!
