Famous Santorini Villa - Car Rental included- Private & Spacious

The villa had everything we were looking for and more . Everything was exactly as shown on the pictures and descriptions. Beautiful and spacious both inside and outside , also you can come up to the roof area and we were lucky enough to also spot some fireworks on our last night . The pool was perfect for the kids to cool off after exploring the Island.. The villa is located in a beautiful Megalochori, close to the bakery ,local restaurant, shops and you can even pick up some souvenirs . We fell in love with the town , local people were very friendly and you get a glimpse of Greek culture. I would definitely pick this location again for our next Santorini stay .Great communication with the host from beginning to end , our pick up from the airport was arranged as well . We were welcomed with a bottle of a local Santorini wine which was very very good .Konstantinos gave us great tips of all the amazing places to visit and answered any questions we had .Big plus was also a car rental which was included with the villa , that saved us a hassle of finding rental places . Everything was planned by the host so it made it easier on us and so it was less stressful . Overall we are extremely happy and I can honestly recommend this amazing villa located in beautiful Megalochori. Thank you once again for having us and making our stay so special .

Wow. Absolutely beautiful property. It’s even better than the pictures. The pool was pristine, the decor was perfection and the views were stunning. The host reached out to us immediately after we booked. He scheduled transportation for us from the ferry so we didn’t have to figure that out on our own. The concierge, Konstantinos, met us when we arrived and showed us around the house. (I noticed that when he was rolling my suitcase along the path to the house that he paused and lifted it up when we came across water on the path so the wheels of my luggage did not go through the water) He sat down with us and made notes on a map with suggestions for site seeing, shopping and dining. He recommended tours and offered to get reservations for us. He made sure we had his contact number and when we texted him later with a question about the air conditioning, he responded immediately. We’ll recommend this listing for anyone we know that plans to travel to Santorini for vacation. Ten stars!

I stayed here mid-April for a nice relaxing holiday with my husband and 2 teenage sons - and boy did it deliver! We loved the house, pool and the gorgeous outside areas and the weather was perfect (sunny and mid 20s degrees). Megalochori is a wonderful little traditional village and probably the best village to stay in out of the ones that we visited on the island. It is beautiful and nice and quiet in April although it might have been better a week or so later when the local restaurants open, but we were still happy with the fabulous family bakery and the 2 local eateries that were open and within walking distance, and not forgetting Mr Scoops for his coffee and ice cream, literally a minute’s walk away. We didn't expect a full maid service every day so that was a bonus and combined with the help and advice from Takis and Evgenia, it felt more like a 5 star hotel than a villa rental. We had a late flight and Evgenia met us in the village and took us to the villa and told us everything we wanted to know about the house and island. She was so lovely and we were able to WhatsApp her whenever we had a question about anything and she replied immediately, nothing was too much bother. Having a car was a welcome addition and the roads weren’t too bad. The local wineries had an open free wine tasting session in the Symposion Cultural Centre, which was next door to the villa, so that a was an unexpected highlight – thanks to Evgenia for telling us about it. Fabulous holiday!

The property is older, but very well maintained and equipped. Pool is private, courtyard is cheerful. Property manager is available and promptly responsive. Housekeeper attends daily. The property is within a very short walk of at least four nice indoor-outdoor restaurants and tavernas. The fact that a rental car was included in the package was very convenient and handy. Overall, a most enjoyable venue.

We spent a week in Santorini, with half our time at this villa. If we could go back and change anything, it’s that we would’ve stayed here the entire week! It’s private courtyard allowed for peaceful moments together, and was walking distance to several restaurants and shops. Takis was the best host, arranging reservations, excursions, drivers, massages and private dinners for us. He went above and beyond to help us when we had flight delays into the island. We hope to return soon and bring our family to share this special place! Thank you thank you!

Couldn’t have been more wonderful!
The concierge was excellent took care of all I need and was there every time we had any issues I needed help!
I would definitely recommend Mansion Sophia for a wonderful, romantic getaway interstate in a quaint little village in Greece!

My wife and I stayed in Mansion Sophia and absolutely fell in love with Santorini. Everything about that place is just as decribed on the listing. We made tons of memories on our week long stay. Everyone that we met there was super friendly, and always willing to answer any question that you may have. We would highly recommend staying at this property and should we go back to Santorini we will definitely be booking the same place again.

We had an amazing stay and we will be coming back and recommending this to friends and family and hope to come back ourself!

Perfect vacation villa
We loved staying in Mansion Sofia. The courtyard and pool offered us our own private slice of paradise. The house has an authentic old-world charm. It was fully equipped with everything we needed. Takis made the whole booking process very easy and was responsive when we had questions.
Mansion Sofia is a 2-minute walk from a variety of restaurants in the town square and a family-owned winery that is worth a visit. We enjoyed exploring the quiet, winding streets of Megalchori and preferred the atmosphere of a traditional village to the faster pace and hoards of tourists in Fira and Oia.

Pretty Traditional village stay
Villa Sophia is in the heart of pretty village Megalochori ! 2 minutes walk from bars, restaurants and shops. It is a very quaint traditional villa with dark wood and traditional fittings! The bed was so comfortable and the pool was perfect to cool down in - it was very hot during our stay but inside the villa was cool and the bedroom had air con so comfortable temperature was maintained throughout! The car hire that came with the villa was very easy too ! We turned up at desk inside terminal, gave name and 10 mins later drove away in car ! Parking is in a car park roughly 4min walk from villa ! Everything you need is in the villa for a stay there! And both Takis and Konstantinos were only a call away should you require anything or any assistance! We loved our stay here and totally recommend a stay at this beautiful quaint villa set in a pretty traditional village. Everyone we met was so friendly and helpful. Thank you so much for making our stay so special and wonderful! 😊😍

Awesome Family Vacation
Everything about our stay was fantastic. Both Takis and Konstantinos communicated often and ensured we had a great stay. The village is so charming and quiet. All of the recommendations for places to eat were delicious. We would definitely stay here again. THANK YOU.

Perfect stay!
Family of 4, could not have picked a better and more relaxing place to stay. The concierge service was amazing and made the stay even better. We would definitely return.

Excellent accommodation in beautiful village
We would definitely recommend Mansion Sophia highly. Very well appointed and equipped accommodation.
Megalochori is a beautifully restored village and virtually pedestrianised apart from the occasional local in a small car or moped, with little or no traffic past the villa. It's a short walk to the square with around 8 restaurants within 10 minutes walk and a wonderful bakery (good for lunchtime sandwiches) around 10 minutes walk - this also sells milk water etc and is open long hours. The caldera is in fact only a short walk from the villa so instead of the crowded streets of Oia, far better to take in the sunset here where there were very people and probably a better view.
The transfers and hire car were very well organised. Jackie the concierge greeted us in the village on arrival from the airport, booked our outbound taxi and met us on departure. There is a mobile phone to contact Jackie with any issues which was reassuring.
We would recommend a visit to Symposion a music and art centre which is just a few steps away from the villa - we attended a really interesting evening concert of original Greek music using traditional instruments.
Overall a very enjoyable stay - Santorini is well worth a visit as it is visually stunning and extremely interesting. There must be few places in the world where one can experience a volcano so closely.

Small slice of paradise
I will start with the fact that we have rented places in the states, Europe, and Mexico and if you do your homework, never has VRBO let me down. This place is exactly as the photos show. It has 2 bedrooms and one bath and AC is provided in both bedrooms. The bathroom is good size and the hot water worked great.
If you really want to avoid the hussle of the over crowded other cities in Santorini, then this is the place you want to be at. In addition you get a rental car so you can drive anywhere on the island you want. The villa is very private with a lockable front gate to the courtyard and it is located just a very short walk from the main square. The swimming pool and courtyard area made the afternoons perfect for a nap and swimming after touring around. There are several restaurants, a mini store, coffee/ice cream shop, and a bakery all very close by too.
The only caution I have is that the single bathroom is accessed through the master bedroom. For a family this is fine but for two adult couples this could be an issue.
Nearly everything we needed for cooking a simple home cooked meal was in the villa. A TV is provided but we really never watched it. The WI-FI worked great and the Sonos music system was a nice touch. There is also a cell phone provided for local calls and to contact Jackie if needed. She was always very fast to respond. Takis also helped us make any tour arrangements or dinner reservation ahead of time.
Several times we would come back to the villa and people were taking their photos at the front entry gate. It has lovely landscaping both inside and around the villa entrance. All around a very nice place that we would rent again when in Santorini.

Beautiful villa in stunning, private setting
After spending two days in lovely but very busy Oia, this home was a beautiful change of pace. The pool and flower strewn patio were lovely and the village of Megalochori was charming and quiet. Jackie provided us with everything we needed and offered recommendations for activities to enjoy. The rental car allowed us to explore island highlights such as beaches (Red Beach) and Pyrgos (the view from Franco’s cafe after 6 pm is breathtaking and allows a birds eye view
of the island). Our favorite restaurant of our stay on Santorini was Metaxi Mas—be sure to make a reservation and ask to be seated on the lower outdoor patio for a beautiful sunset view of the interior part of the the island that some may miss!

Exceptional
Mansion Sophia is a beautiful and quiet oasis close enough to Oia and Fira but in the nice quiet little town of Megalachori close to the best wineries and beaches and within walking distance of wonderful wineries and restaurants. The accommodation itself is wonderful with a lot of character, a great rooftop for taking in sunrise and sunsets and a wonderful pool and lounging area. Mansion Sophia was immaculately clean and the staff was very helpful with arranging a catamaran tour (highly recommend) and all other matters. We hope to visit again one day!

Authentic hideaway
A beautiful authentic villa in a traditional village with all the home comforts you need - in aficionados to the excellent correspondence with the management we were greeted by Nicholas and taken from the airport and met by a friendly Jackie to guide us around the home and be given great tips for our stay - would highly recommend and had an amazing stay !

Beautiful villa in picturesque little village
We had a wonderful family holiday here. The villa was lovely, especially the pool, where we spent most of our time. Everything ran really smoothly and all the people we met were really helpful (transfer driver, housekeepers, check-in rep). The villa is situated on a quiet side street, but within a moment you're in a quaint village square, with wonderful restaurants and a beautiful old church. My husband visited the local bakery every morning for fresh bread and croissants. There was a supermarket within 5-10min drive too. The only negative was that our sons couldn't stand up in the pool (aged 4&6), which parents of young children may want to consider. Lovely, relaxing holiday.
Just a final word for families with young kids - there's not a whole lot for kids to do in Megalochori - Santorini is more geared to adults. That said, our boys were really happy playing in the pool, reading books and playing with a few toys we brought with us. However if your family are more into active days out, this might not be the place for you.

Mansion Sophia June 2018
We stayed for three lovely nights at your beautiful property. The accommodations were first class, tasteful, and clean. Perfect for our family of four. We had an amazing trip to the island with perfect weather, beautiful skylight, and we settled in quite nicely to the relaxed vibe of Megalochori. Would definitely recommend this Mansion Sophia to anyone visiting Santorini looking for an easy, elegant get away. Thank you!

Fantastic villa with a pool in a lovely village
“Mansion Sophia was a wonderful place to stay. The villa was spotlessly clean. We loved having our own pool and spacious courtyard. We loved the seperate outdoor eating area where we sat to have breakfast every morning. The pick up and transfer to and from the airport was easy. We even got help when our bags got lost!!! Staying in the village of Megalachori was a highlight. Lots of choice of restaurants. Simple to a bit more high end. The food was great wherever we went. Few shops to tempt. What we loved about the village is that we got to know so many locals and by the end of our 11 days we felt like ‘locals’ The car is a bonus, meaning we could get to anywhere in the island We were 2 couples and we would stay here again ”

Amazing Villa in a stunning setting!
We had the pleasure of staying at Mansion Sophia for a couple nights during our vacation in Greece and it was a truly delightful stay. Its located in the beautiful village of Megalochori which is everything you could ever dream of an actual Greek experience. Small winding pathways for only walking, quiet shops away from the business of Fira, and two amazing restaurants just steps away from the private entrance. The Mansion is wonderful, renovated to modern amenities but retains the history and culture from when the home was built. One of the amazing treats is your own private pool that was absolutely wonderful and refreshing during the heat. Then you would walk up to the roof and enjoy the sunset views without leaving the grounds. The location is wonderful, thought it may not have ocean side views, its away from the tourist/hectic parts of the island. It truly make you feel like you are finally in Greece. Its hard to know that Megalochori is even there, but its central location on the island is perfect for Oia, Fira, and Perissa. After a month across Europe and visiting multiple countries and islands, our stay in Mansion Sophia was the most pleasant and wonderful portion of our trip, definitely the highlight and something we will always talk about to our family and friends.

I don't think words can describe how beautiful romantic and absolutely gorgeous "Mansion Sophia" is.
The small walk from town center along the thin roads to Sophia was so exciting but when you turn the keys and walk up the stairs to Sophia the words WOW Stunning and OMG come to mind. The lush gardens are undescribable. Gorgeous plants flowers and foliage everywhere surrounding a beautiful pool. This was my favorite place in Sophia and because it is set high in the village and has large beautiful while walls and lush foliage everywhere the privacy was outstanding, like a small piece of Heaven. The house was unreal, a full traditional Greek village mountain home. The doorway into the kitchen you had to actually duck to get into, just added to its quaintness . The bedrooms were beautiful and the beds great.
This was the most romantic place my wife and I have ever been.
The town of Megalochori is so traditional, quaint and so full of character and charm. The people of the village were so charming and friendly full of character. Sophia was only 200 yards away from 4 great restaurants shops and the church is gorgeous.
To top all of this off they provided us a car for our stay there and we were so central on Santorini that we could be anywhere on the Island in 20-30 minutes drive.
If you are thinking of staying at Sophia, grab it quickly as it is the most beautiful place my wife and I have ever stayed at in the world
Thank you Mansion Sophia for an unforgettable experience!!!

Wonderful villa in a perfect village
A lovely villa well maintained. Private and convenient to explore the island. Excellent daily cleaning. Great restaurants and bakery within a 5 minute walk. Excellent service from owner and concierge. Loved the Pyrgos restaurant and sunset view from local winery. I would highly recommend this villa and location. Can't wait to return!

Gorgeous home in perfect location
We had an amazing time at Mansion Sophia and cannot wait to come back and stay again. The little village of Megalochori was picture perfect and exactly what we were looking for in an off-the-beaten-path, authentic experience. There were several great restaurants just a stone's throw from the house and there was a great bakery just a short and scenic walk through the old village. Every person we met was incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome immediately. The house itself was fantastic, it had the charm and history to lend to its authenticity, but was very comfortable with all the conveniences of modern amenities like a washing machine, microwave and espresso maker. Thank you!!

Peaceful, Private, Perfect
One enters the villa under a fragrant arch of tangled jasmine and bougainvillea.... The private courtyard and well restored home transport you to another time. The village is beautiful, low key and uncluttered. We enjoyed the simplicity of it all, but were grateful for the included rental car that enabled us to explore beaches, the famous sunset views and archaelogical sites. The Villa is managed with five star amenities such as a wonderful concierge named Jackie who arranges daily housekeeping, airport transfers, excursions and troubleshoots questions. Tips to consider before booking: most cars are manual so if you only drive automatic you may want to request in advance. Also, understand that the smaller bedroom does not have its own bathroom and guests staying in it must cross thru either the master bedroom or outdoor courtyard to access it and hot water is adequate but not unlimited. This is the trade off for living in the village of Megalachori! 5 star experience overall!!

Magical
We could not have been happier with our stay at Mansion Sophia. From the greeter at the airport to the luggage handler, to the concierge and the maid, everyone was friendly and helpful. The property is absolutely beautiful. The large living room is bright and inviting and the bedrooms on either side are roomy and elegantly furnished. The beds are comfortable and a cozy comforter was just the ticket for the cool nights. Even plush robes and slippers are provided.
With the rental car that was included as part of our stay, we explored many of the villages of Santorini and enjoyed them all but were more convinced than ever that none could top Megalohori. It is a traditional village with narrow streets (cars can travel on only a few), which adds to the charm. The villagers are friendly and we happened to be there the days leading up to Palm Sunday so we were able to participate in the ceremony that included decorating an enormous cross and watching with the whole village as the men used ropes and pulleys to raise it in the town square. Afterward everyone lined up for dinner provided by our favorite restaurant, located on the square. We also attended a service in the church and weren't allowed to leave without taking home bread and chocolate.
At day's end, after exploring other villages, we had drinks by the pool and walked to one of the many good restaurants. One night we made dinner in the nicely equipped kitchen and ate outside in one of the two lovely courtyards. The owner, Takis, even provides a complimentary bottle of wine for guests.
Staying at Mansion Sophia is everything you dream of when imagining visiting the iconic island of Santorini. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Lovely Mansion + Pool + Garden Dining Room
If you are looking for a great, big, stone mansion for a group of friends/family in a quaint little town, look no further. There is tremendous indoor and outdoor space, the master bedroom and the rooftop view are simply gorgeous. The town is so cute, very easy to walk and it has 5 very yummy restaurants within a minute's walk. Stock up on wine and snacks at the local market, enjoy the skyline views and don't forget to meet Takis the owner...he's the man!

Beautiful villa in gorgeous surroundings!
My three friends and I booked our October mini break in March and received lovely updates and comms from Takis, the general manager right up until we flew. He was also very accommodating when we wanted to add a fifth guest.
We were happy to see the airport transfers were included, and when we arrived we were met by the hire car company, however we were slightly taken aback to be greeted by two cars and one driver! Bear in mind you may have to drive immediately when you land and will need your driver's licence. (You will also definitely need the car - Santorini is not really walkable!)
Once we arrived in Megalochori (which is gorgeous) we were met by Jackie, who showed us around the village and villa and was absolutely fantastic.
The villa itself is as gorgeous as the pictures make it look. The pool area is particularly fabulous and there's access to the roof for late afternoon sunbathing and incredible views of the village.
The only negative points in the villa are the hot water (which we couldn't get working despite Jackie's instructions) and the kitchen was a little under equipped. However these pale in comparison to the rest of the experience.
Megalochori itself is beautiful, charming and quiet - everything you expect a village to be. It has some great restaurants and lovely shops.
Would heartily recommend!
