Refurbished Flat in Central Reykjavik in a Quiet Residential Area
Un piso completamente restaurado en una de las casas de "estilo funkis" de Reykjavik (una de las primeras casas residenciales diseñadas por arquitectos en un vecindario planificado), ubicado en una zona residencial tranquila, a menos de 5 minutos a pie de la principal calle comercial en el centro de Reykjavik con numerosos restaurantes, bares y tiendas en la zona. La casa es típica de la zona y está revestida con lo que mejor se puede describir como lava como revestimiento de concreto para protección contra los elementos.
Los principales museos, galerías y puerto de Reykavik (en caso de que quiera ir a ver ballenas) se encuentran a 5-20 minutos a pie.
Nuestro restaurante de mariscos favorito, Humarhusid (el restaurante de langosta) está a solo unos 15 minutos caminando por la calle comercial principal.

We had a lovely stay at this apartment, July 11-20, 2024. It is centrally located and we had very easy parking for our rental car, Close to shopping, resteraunts and sight seeing. We really liked the apartment. Bus stop 11 for tour buses is just around the corner and a few blocks down, about a 10 minute walk. I highly recommend the apartment. Ulli was very good at communicating with me and made our stay very easy. Thank you, Lorie

We enjoyed our stay. Comfortable and fairly well stocked, ample street parking. No real issues. You do hear a bit of street noise and occasionally the guest in the flat above. I had a little difficulty checking in as I couldn't find the attachment showing where the lock box was, luckily the clean crew was there for the above flat and showed me.

WOW! Was I fortunate to find this spot. With more than half of my two week holiday in Iceland focused on downtown, I could walk everywhere from this place. Out to "Fly Over Iceland" at one end and then up to Sigurjón Ólafsson Museum and the Kringlan mall. The modern simple spot suit me perfectly.

We stopped in Reykjavik for our honeymoon. This location was perfect. Close to downtown but far enough to be able easily drive to other locations. Driving in the actual downtown would be very difficult. This place had everything we needed! Great shower pressure, living room space, easy check in/out.

This basement apartment was close to everything we wanted to do in the city and is also not far from Þingvellir. We did not get the chance to see the Northern lights while staying here, but know that it is possible. We went to Sky Lagoon, which was about 12 minutes away.
The apartment itself is nicely set up with a private bedroom, spacious shower (compared to our other stays in Iceland) and a kitchen with an oven (also a rare find from our other stays).
We really enjoyed the location and the surrounding area. The only downside is the noise that trickles down from the occupants of the first floor apartment, but it wasn't a deal breaker. We would certainly stay here again.

Great spot for me and my girlfriend to stay for the start of our trip in Reykjavik. The flat had everything we needed. It was a great location for walking into downtown Reykjavik and exploring the city. We would stay there again when we come back to Iceland! 🇮🇸

Was only there 2 nights after a cruise, but it would have been very comfortable for longer stay. If I return to RVK, would definitely stay there again!

The place was clean, quiet and spacious. We loved the walking proximity to Hallgrimskirkja and downtown but still being in a free parking zone. We could hear the soft ringing of the church bells from our place. It was a great place to sleep off our jet lag.

Good, though fairly small flat. Tough stairs to front door.
We enjoyed the location of this flat - central Reykjavík (everything 2-10 min away). The owner was very helpful throughout. The unit is fairly small (maybe similar to many Reykjavík flats, though we stayed later in one much larger). Nicely furnished. My one concern is the stairwell to get to the front door - the stairs are narrow, often slick, and there is no handrail.

Of course the Reykjavík guide books will point out all the attractions; but, consider one of the Hop On- Hop Off busses to allow for a nice overview of the city and then pick your favorite spots to revisit.
Overall rating is a 5; but the location did have a fair amount of traffic noise which could be heard even w/ the windows closed. We’d still come again though 😄
