This place with its gardens and privacy and easy access, beautiful location and beautiful place will come back just because of this and I’m not even a fan of the beach.

We loved our stay.. everything was great besides the fact that I initially asked the owner if I got a few decorations sent could she set them up because I was surprising my partner for his birthday .. she said yes. Then I check in with her about a week before to make sure that’s still okay before I order them and now she can’t. That was a little frustrating but overall we loved the place, the area, the parking..
just be aware the listing says you will have the whole place to yourself and that is not the case . You get the ground floor to yourself, but the owner lives above and there’s another housing type building right behind you in the backyard that people can stay in as well, it was a little deceiving for me as I thought we would be completely alone during our stay. BUT no issues with the people at all , everyone was really kind .. even got to meet the owner.
Hot tub was exceptional .
Again- 5 stars! She even let us check out later than the expected time AND offered an additional night at a lower cost - highly recommend.

A great location! Friendly and accommodating host. The place has everything you need for a short stay. Clean and cute decorations. The property is beautiful with all the roses.
I enjoyed the jacuzzi, which was very warm and clean.
Just down the street is the beach, if you can walk and run across a large highway, but basically, you can find parking on off times. I recommend using the bikes they have to get to the beach. Parking next to Awful Arthur’s is a clue. Get there early for sunrises.For sunsets, 3 blocks away is the Wright brothers path. It’s very pretty and very safe there as well.

Our stay was great! You do need to drive to the beach but there is parking available if you get there early. I only gave the location/neighborhood 4 stars just because it is sort of off a large busy road, but it was nice that we were able to walk to restaurants! The apartment was the perfect size, and the outdoor shower/area is great. I would just suggest bringing extra blankets and bath towels but besides that we had everything we could possibly need provided for us on the property. Check-in and check-out was as easy as could be and we got to hang out with her sweet kitty cat! As a crazy cat girl this was a special bonus. Overall, it was a great stay and nice get away- I would definitely recommend this property.

Stayed for 3 nights, the apartment is in a good location near the main road but far enough off that you don't get all the road noise. The place is super cute and perfect for a solo traveler or couple. The bed is really comfy and the bathroom has a spacious walk in shower. It was also super clean, no complaints at all. Very happy with my choice to stay here for my long weekend in the Outer Banks! Thanks Necla.

Much further to beach than advertised. Very dangerous trying to cross 5 lanes of traffic flying at highway speeds to get to beach.
3 huge trash cans in front of the "Mars Apt." It was dated, not enough towels. Owners unit above was noisy. Amazing that the Town of Kitty Hawk allowed a single family property on a tiny lot to be carved into 3 rentals. Very limited parking.

We loved our stay at the Mars apartment. Our host was so gracious when we had a change of plans and we were so glad we were able to find a few days that worked for us. The apartment was very comfortable and perfect for a couple. We spent our days exploring the area and enjoying the beaches and nearby restaurants. You have to try Trio for a drink and/or dinner. And, don't miss the sunsets!!

We spent two nights here. It was off the main road and had amazing access to the sound on the west side of the OBX, which made for some great sunsets! Aside from sleeping we didn't necessarily spend a lot of time in the apartment, but it worked out great for my wife and I. One perk, free coffee at the Outer Bean for guests :)

Check in was a little rocky at first but was corrected immediately and she apologized. Nothing major there. The property was absolutely beautiful and very secluded from others so plenty of privacy. Only thing we disliked was the comfort of the bed. Was very stiff and had trouble sleeping. Other than that still a 5 star rating and would stay again!

A true hidden gem, tucked right in the heart of kitty hawk, walking distance to the beach, bay, dining. The hot tub was super relaxing, bikes were fun and the air conditioning worked great.

My fiancé and I stayed at Necla's place for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The space is perfect for a couple and is well equipped (we enjoyed use of the beach chairs but there are also bikes, a hot tub, grill, a lovely back yard, and more available to you as well). The location was very convenient, near many great restaurants, supermarkets, and beach parking.
We really appreciated how Necla (who lives upstairs) checked in with us several times during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed and the free coffee at her nearby coffee shop. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again during our next trip to the Outer Banks!

Necla was an amazingly generous host. We had a long stay and got to know her over the course of two weeks. She was very responsive whenever we needed anything. The apartment was spacious and had nearly everything we needed for our extended stay. Everything was well-maintained. Very comfortable bed. Conveniently located. A short drive to the beach. We would definitely consider a return visit.

Tucked Away
This property is tucked away between the Sound and the Beach. Making our accommodations peaceful and relaxing. The apartment was clean, bed large & comfy, and we had control of air conditioning temperature to keep comfortable. The outside grounds were nicely manicured with flower gardens adding nicely to the relaxing ambiance… as we sat outside every evening.
We had easy access to bike paths for early morning bike rides and were also close enough to ride our bikes to the beach.
Our host was on premises to be sure we had all we needed, but yet gave us our privacy. Will definitely be a returning guest our next time in OBX.
