The apartment was exactly as described with everything as advertised and that anyone could ask for. Our original rental wasn't so nice and we were so happy that we found Verdant Paradise. The overlook was magnificent with a bright sunrise every morning and shade all afternoon. The view is across a hundred acres of tropical trees and herds of fine bleating sheep and cattle grazing underneath. There was always a breeze but if you like cooler the air conditioning is available. The hosts treated us well going beyond requirements and doing some special favors. If you are on STX this is the place to stay.

My husband and I enjoyed our week at Roy and Bonnie's beautifully appointed apartment. It has everything one could want or need for a comfortable stay. The location is so peaceful and pretty and they were so hospitable! This is a truly lovely place to stay on St Croix, especially if you want to be tucked away.

Roy and Bonnie’s property may be the cleanest rental from VRBO we have ever stayed in and was greatly appreciated. It had everything we needed and more!
Roy was super helpful from the time of our reservation through our entire stay.
We enjoyed the herds of goats and sheep that passed by every morning.
The highlight and most favorite was exploring the many wonderful beaches on the island, and snorkeling daily.

For those of you like me who prefer the tranquility of the rain forest, this is the place for you. This is the only place for me simply because the amenities are above and beyond and Roy’s as good as a host can be.👍

The property is beautiful, quiet, and charming. There is a long dirt road driveway up to the top of the hill to the property, which is fun and unique. It is located in a good central location and you will need a rental with 4-wheel drive. There are goats, cows, and other animals surrounding the property. The apartment is super clean, well maintained, and has all of the necessities to make your stay feel like home. Roy is also very personable. We highly recommend!

The property is much more equipped than even the pictures let on, and Roy is such a helpful host.
If you are looking to stay a little bit off the beaten path in St. Croix, this is your best bet. Wonderful mountain views. Amazing comfortable stay and a great host. It doesn't get much better than that.

This was our second stay with Roy and Bonnie and we are looking forward to our third. This property is immaculate and contains everything you may need from the well stocked kitchen,wonderful bedding and all of your needs for the beach. My husband Tom and I enjoyed staying in the smaller of Roy's two apartments, situated in the midst of the magical tropical rainforest. This was Tom's second time at Roy's and my first. The kitchen is well stocked with dinnerware, pots, and pans -- we had no problems preparing and serving a tasty dinner of strawberry grouper fish (bought at a roadside stand and expertly filleted/deboned on-site), with veggies from two of the Saturday farmers' markets and farro from the nearby grocery store. The bed is very comfortable, so we slept well. And the gallery/front porch is a pleasant place to hang out -- the neighbors (goats and cows) sometimes dropped by for visits (visible on the road or across the road -- not on Roy's property). Roy and his wife Bonnie are very friendly and accommodating -- we couldn't ask for nicer hosts!

Absolutely amazing 🤩 . So grateful to find this gem in the rainforest. The host was incredibly accommodating and even saved me late at night when I got lost with my gps. Kindness abounds. The home was beautiful, private, and clean! Had everything I needed. Was so comfortable and loved the local art all around. Right down the street from the drinking pigs and amazing restaurant too! Loved the quiet location that feels out there but in the middle of everywhere I wanted to go. It was a beautiful stay and adventure ❤️

We recently stayed here and were totally blown away how beautiful this unit was. The owners were great and the setting was perfect. We've been to lots of rentals in the past but this was by far the most perfect place to stay. The accommodations were outstanding, everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. When we return to St. Croix, we never have to look for another place to stay. This is it!!!!!!

Everything was perfect for our stay. Roy and Bonnie really pay attention to detail. Everything was thought of with this rental. From full kitchen with stove and microwave to washer and dryer for your clothes and towels. Even a small cooler and beach chairs were available for use if needed. There was nothing that we needed that wasn't there.

Fantastic location, clean, safe and quiet. You can easily drive to all parts of St Croix from here. You must rent a car. Well equipped kitchen and gated secured parking. Host is a very smart and friendly retired man...he built the place himself. It is up on a mountain in the wetter forested area of St Croix, but cows and goat are across the street! You cant go wrong here, unless you crave overpriced cookie cutter resort type stays and noise. We were very happy with this place for a week.

This was the perfect place to stay. It was very clean and lots of space. The kitchen was was very impressive with all the dishes accommodations one would want.
Roy and Bonnie were amazing host. Very friendly and was always available when needed.

We were impressed at how clean and well taken care of the property was. Roy was so friendly and helpful--couldn't have asked for a better person to work with. He gave us tips and even dropped by once with some fresh local fruit! His recommendations for an SUV were spot on.

Mr. Roy and Mrs. Bonnie are the perfect hosts and their apartment is ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS. This has to be THE BEST value on the island. It's very easily worth double the price. We have stayed at countless rentals but the genuine warmness and hospitality is hands down the BEST we've ever experienced. I'm from Georgia and as a Southerner I know a thing or two about hospitality. There was absolutely nothing we needed that wasn't provided down to a garlic mincer. They knew what we needed before we even knew we were going to need it. The warmth and passion for what they do is felt from the moment they great you at the airport. If you are craving a clean, serene home away from home look no further.

This is by far the best place we ever stayed in VRBO. We enjoyed every minute from the arrival at airport Roy welcoming us until the morning we were leaving he surprised us with fresh carrot cake baked by him. Lovely, comfortable and immaculate condo , with everything you possibly need to enjoy your stay. The owners are lovely people and happy to help us with everything we asked. We truly had a wonderful time and we are planning to go back. We highly recommend this beautiful place!

When we first stumbled upon this apartment on Vrbo it seemed almost too good to be true. A secluded get away in the rainforest that’s more affordable than any of the hotels on the island. Roy is the most thoughtful, gracious host.He picked us up from the airport and went out of his way by helping us out of a car rental hiccup. He provided us with all the information we needed and treated us like family. The apartment is immaculate, just perfect! Kitchen is complete and contains everything one needs. Equipped with a washer and dryer. The bed is big and comfortable, bathroom and terrace are excellent. Location is incredible.Roy went above and beyond to make our vacation comfortable and memorable.Will definitely be staying here again in the future.

This property was fantastic for us to stay on while visiting St. Croix. Roy was extremely accommodating and the property was extremely clean, comfortable, and as advertised. Roy even brought us some local treats on the 1/1/21 to say happy new year. I would strongly recommend this property.

Excellent place to stay! The host, Roy, has the place in perfect condition. Modern kitchen and laundry room. Kitchen, bathroom, and floors beautifully tiled. The room was stocked with all the little things like laundry detergent, soap, cooking and eating utensils. The house has a long dirt driveway and a gate. We felt very safe on the island and especially at this rental property.
The apartment is on Mahogany Road in the rain forest about 15 minutes from Frederiksted and 20 minutes from Cane Bay. Great location for the walk-in dives on the island. We rented a Jeep and explored the island and dove every day that we could. I would recommend renting a Jeep to explore off-road.
Overall, we felt like we had the best room on the island and would highly recommend staying at this property.
