We stayed for the weekend of Merlefest and it was great! So nice to come back from a muddy day to a nice shower and a cozy hangout. Beautiful views.

This is a terrific home. We do hope that you will put screens on the windows as well as allow guests to better control air system. We could neither open windows (bugs) nor establish a stable temperature or find a way to have constant fan ventilation. So too warm and stuffy for folks from the desert West. Also, we hope you will provide additional towel sets. We don't use the same towels for 5d at home and we were gone 90% of our waking hours so doing a load of towels wasn't possible.
I do recommend this property for anyone wanting to enjoy the Blue Ridge. We post this as suggestions for improvement not as public complaining.

We loved our trip to Leatherwood Mountain. The cabin was great and it had everything we needed. The outside area needs a little TLC and the downstairs needs to have a dehumidifier; otherwise, it was a great place and we would definitely return.

The thermostat down stairs worked fine. The upstairs would state “ in 2 1/2 hours” It was very uncomfortable at night. I did not call and I did not try to change it anymore. We always enjoy our stay. July is just a hot month.

Leatherwood and the cabin were great. We had a fantastic trip. Only complaint I have is bug bites and centipedes. Someone had left the tops of several windows down, so there were quite a few bugs inside. We all ended up with several bug bites that welted up. The centipedes are everywhere including in the beds. I might suggest an exterminator. Other than those things though, it really was a great trip and experience. We enjoyed the hikes, horses and even music on our last night. Be aware that Blueberry Ridge is about 5 miles up a mountain road though. We didn't mind that.

For those seeking peace and serenity in a secluded natural setting, this is a wonderful location! Perched mountainside, the house offers expansive views and also wonderful interior design and amenities. You feel close to nature but at the same time pampered with all the luxuries that make a vacation special, like a gourmet kitchen and a generously sized jacuzzi in the master suite. The property description and photos were completely accurate; the home was spotlessly clean; all the appliances and furnishings were in great condition. As long as you are fine with a fairly long drive from the resort entrance to the property (we were fine with it because we liked being away from the bustle), this is a great choice for a family get-together.

Lovely getaway
We really enjoyed staying at this house. The hot tub was wonderful, the views were spectacular, and it was so quiet and remote. We enjoyed the fireplace and our boys loved the games downstairs and taking walks. Only complaint was the house was quite dusty, but seemed quite clean otherwise. Would recommend!

Mountain home with a view
We stayed at BR over 2020 Thanksgiving weekend. Best things about this rental: beautiful Mountain View, homey and cozy mountain house, the best stocked kitchen I’ve ever rented! Not Best Things: 45 min drive to grocery and longer to Boone, Blowing Rock (but we were warned of that), not enough towels for 7 of us so bring some of your own, had issue w hot tub not working but we didn’t discover that until our last night-I really believe Leatherwoiod staff would have attended to that if we had called but it was late and we were leaving the next day.

Blueberry Ridge is a lovely home with a beautiful view. The basement level has moisture issues, and we found mold on the furniture. The hot tub tripped a breaker and we were unable to use it bc the fuse box was in a locked closet. The house has a no pet policy, but the owner has a dog and the dampness in the basement brought out a urine smell. I love Leatherwood and the management tried to resolve these issues while we were there. I would come back to visit, but I’d probably stay at a different rental home.

Perfect Weekend
A lovely cozy mountain cabin. We’ve stayed in this area before and this is our favorite cabin. The house itself has everything you need and is well located for walks thru the woods and just sitting on the balcony looking at the view.

Just what we needed!
We had a perfect Covid vacation here! We went fishing, enjoyed the hot tub, and had movie nights! The view is amazing! The only downside is it takes 45mins-1 hour to get places, but because of covid we only left the resort twice so it didn’t really bother us. We brought all of our food with us since we knew the groceries were far away.

Awesome cagin
We've rented a number of cabins in the NC mountains over the years, including other cabins in Leatherwood, and this one may be our favorite. Nicely appointed kitchen, nice master bedroom and bathroom, great finished downstairs with game room and two bedrooms, and great views. It's a bit of a drive up the mountain from the entrance into the Leatherwood community, but well worth it.
