Best host and location in town, Marta way super helpful/gentile and made our stay in Lecce special

Martha is a perfect host! Very helpful, always ready to assist if there is a problem or if we need something extra- like advice about good shop for chocolates or lift to the train station.

We had just two days in Lecce. Il Refigio was ideally situated only metres from the old part of the city. So we were able to easily walk to all the important and interesting places – and believe me the baroque architecture is breath-taking; nothing can prepare you for it. Marta welcomed us and provided a map and useful information. We were concerned about parking, but Marta provided a good solution of paid parking at only 5 euros per day, about 500 metres away. This suited us. The room was quite large; the bathroom very good (nice towels etc.). Security wise good with a locked external door. We were not troubled by noise from the road although Marta said it might be a problem, and offered earplugs as a solution. Thoughtful. It was fun to have breakfast at a nearby bar, as arranged. The proprietor was friendly and obliging; and we felt a bit like one of the locals. All in all we had a very satisfactry stay here and can recommend it for a short stay like ours; or for even longer, given that at this time of the year at least, parking is cheap and abundant – you could use Lecce as a base and take day trips to other towns nearby.
