This cabin has a magical feel to it with a spiral staircase and "walkway" out to a loft for viewing the forest/ocean view. There are books all around and it makes you want to stay and read for days. My 6 year old thought this was the best part of our entire vacation. Very reasonable pans to cook with. The Port Orford Headlands was BEAUTIFUL and the museum was well done - even our son liked it. Lastly - we didn't know about "Mr Ed's" until we got coffee there the next day. Cool place and apparently has live music frequently. We would be game to hit this part of the coast again!

The staircase is awesome - for people with smaller frames. My husband and to turn his shoulders sideways. The loft is magical but it is an older kids room - we didn't trust our son to navigate the stairs to use the bathroom at night and so ended up taking the bedding off of a twin and using it on the futon downstairs. If the owners did an annual professional window cleaning and soft powerwashing this cabin would've gotten all 10's from me. The spider webs outside and dirt on the windows and outside were harder to look past for my husband, and truthfully were a little distracting for me.

Inability to communicate with vacasa and booking.com about canceling the reservation.. and continued messages about getting key, etc. (after telling vacasa that we were not going to use the reservation) and still continuing messages asking us how our stay was! WE DID NOT STAY AT "WHIMSY BY THE SEA". Now I am receiving a message saying that I should cancel the reservation, but the date for the reservation has already past. The lack of good communication between vacasa and booking.com is perhaps the issue?

Amazing views of the ocean! Kitchen had everything we needed, and there were plenty of towels for the 4 of us. No crazy rules which was nice. Loved the location could stay here longer and just relax for days!

Not good for younger kids! My 2 year old could have fallen through the railings of the staircase.
