We have been coming to this charming cottage (both this side and Mess Hall) for our annual girls trip for four years. We adore it! Every time we see something we hadn’t noticed before. Lots of thought has gone into the furnishings. Tammy has always been amazing! She always makes us feel special. She quickly answers our questions and helps us out. The cottage is within a short walk five minute to North Beach. It’s always spotless. We love sitting on the front porch and relaxing before and after a day at the beach. Truly a magical home away from home! We have our reservations for next year and can’t wait to return.

We love Tybee because it has NOT been commercialized and is clean. The beaches are very pretty and having a golf cart to puddle around was super. The mermaid Cottage team was there if we had questions or any needs. This is our third or fourth trip to Tybee and working with the Mermaids and will not change.

First time to Tybee! Variable March weather offered surprises daily, from warm and sunny to chilly wild windy waves! Screened In was the perfect quiet retreat for the 2 of us-close enough for a quick walk to welcome sunrises every day and drive to sunsets each evening. My husband and I enjoyed out winter escape to Tybee Island's. Mermaid Cottage Screened Inn. An excellent location on the north side near the lighthouse. This historic cottage (and former Mess Hall) has a delightful "secret passage" to the beach. The "Mermaids" provided all our needs and wants in this charming sand sparkling clean cottage. I am a repeat customer will definitely continue to rent from Mermaid Cottages.

Over the years, we have stayed many times at the Screened Inn. This year we decided to check an item off our Bucket list, and stay for a month. The things we always enjoy about this cottage: quiet family oriented North End location, large screened porch, and walking distance to the beach. We are an older couple, and enjoy the cottage furnishings & atmosphere that remind us of decades ago. The Mermaid Staff are always friendly and accommodating. We will be back.

We loved walking through the “secret passage “ to the beach each day. We loved watching the summer storms from the front porch. Screened Inn didn’t disappoint! It’s so charming, filled with everything you need. We loved spending time on the beautiful screened porch in the evenings. I was one of four high school classmates from the Class of 1976!!! We absolutely loved our time at the Screened Inn. It is such cozy cottage and the outdoor shower was a bonus! Lots of stories were shared on the Screened Porch. It was simply perfect for us. Would highly recommend this property!!! PS. I loved the music upon arrival. Very nice touch!!! The only suggestion I would make is to provide beach chairs. Packing beach chairs takes up a lot of space when traveling.

The house has plenty of room, is clean and well furnished, and the porch is a big plus....and our little puppy loves it. The Mermaids are a pleasure to work with, very friendly and responsive. The house was well appointed and in an amazing location both on the island and to get to Savannah and surrounding attractions. The private beach access was amazing. The house was comfortable and we appreciated the historical significance of the property. I could not believe that we had neighbors, it was so quiet. A king size bed in the master would have made for a better night sleep, but the property is pretty much perfect. We would love to visit again! Thank you!

Nostalgic gem in Tybee
This was a precious property that reminded me of going to my grandmothers home. It was beautifully restored and full of character. Close to park, beach, bingo 😂 and could walk to the Post Theatre. We will be back!

My friends and I really enjoyed staying at the Screened Inn; the cottage was comfortable, spacious and the North Beach location is fantastic. We walked to the beach (only about 5-8 minutes), the neighborhood is quiet, you are about a 5 minute drive from the Lighthouse (nicer to walk there), and the Pavilion and Pier isn't that far away. The cottage exceeded our expectations in terms of decor; it was very clean; it was nice to have the washer and dryer and we weren't expecting the beach chairs. The decor is my style, so I felt like I was in my second home and all the appliances and TVs worked just fine. I will definitely rent another Mermaid Cottage and really enjoyed the relaxed, easy going atmosphere of Tybee Island in the post Labor Day season.

We totally enjoyed staying in this historic house. The layout was great in there is a place for the little kids to watch tv and play and sleep, and a place for watching football on Thanksgiving Day with no interuptions. The house was very close to the beach and you did not have to cross any major roadways to get there. If i had one complaint it would be the Wifi did not work well. You would have to be sitting next to the router in order to get a signal.
