Outstanding breakfast and special (very special) dishes offered daily. The location was fine and convenient for all we wanted to do. Spotlessly clean premises. The hosts, Ali and Bill, were genuine and welcoming, eager to help at all times and as for the catering, Ali certainly excels in all aspects. The only drawback is that we can only score 10/10 - it deserves more. A Special Place and run by Special People

The View on the terrace was delightful. Perfect location on the seafront and beautiful, recently decorated, room with a bay window overlooking the sea. Although we didn't use it there was a coffee maker in the room along with fresh milk, tea and home made delicious brownies. Breakfast was fabulous and very generous. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend.

Love, love love the decor, the view, sumptuous super king bed and a breakfast to die for. Stayed in Rhino. Ali & Bill exceptional hosts and the homemade treats, delicious. Well deserved 10/10 in my opinion.

What’s not to like!

This place is excellent. From arrival and during the whole 3 night stay, Bill and Allie were exceptional hosts. We had the queen bed room (Stag room) which was first floor with bay window and excellent views over Weymouth bay. Breakfast every day was exceptional with unusual but tasty specials served by a friendly Bill. Bill and Allie have got this completely right - making you feel at home and providing the little touches that mean so much. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will be back.

We felt very looked after - really personal service and lovely food. All the little touches that Ali and Bill provide make for a really special stay, and the location is fantastic.

Tiny little niggle - would have preferred softer lighting - lamps or a lighter bulb in the ceiling in the bedroom, for nighttime but otherwise everything was lovely.

A real gem Booking The View, you will have a holiday on its best. We had a very warm welcome from Ali and Bill. We stayed 6 nights in the Stag Room with the gorgeous bay window. What an amazing room with a view to die for! Coming back from our daily walks, we relaxed in the armchairs and enjoyed the breath-taking view and of course, Ali’s daily treat, the delicious homemade cakes. Every day started with Fine Dining in the lovely breakfast room. As a starter we had a variety of fresh fruit and homemade granola. Then- what a surprise! – It was followed by a small, tasty sorbet. (Every day another flavour!) After a warm croissant, we could choose one of the cooked breakfasts. We always took The Daily Special. Ali creates every day a culinary highlight. During the breakfast we appreciated the conversation with Bill who gave us helpful recommendations for our daily trips. Weymouth is a perfect place for walking and for exploring the Jurassic Coast. We totally enjoyed our stay in The View, and we say a huge thank you to our perfect hosts Ali and Bill.

Ali and Bill were absolutely brilliant. The best B&B we have stayed in. The small treats go a long way! The Flamingo themed room was really nice, service was brilliant, breakfast prepared by Ali was always 5 star. Great location, we will definitely be staying again!

Myself & partner have just had a very enjoyable 3 night stay at The View On The Terrace. The rooms & entire premises are to a very highly standard of decor & cleanliness. You also couldn't wish for more attentive personable hosts as Alison & Bill. Their attention to detail in meeting guests needs is oustanding. Not only is breakfast always top quality ingredients, but Ali is also a very talented chef and always provides a very tasty 'special of the day' as an alternative to the typical full english (although the quality, appearane & tast of all are outstanding). However, Ali's passion for baking and providing an extra special touch extends to the delightful home baked treats she leaves in your room everyday, to go with quality beverages and fresh refrigerated milk also provided. Needless to say, we highly recommend a stay with Ali & Bill, and we ourselves hope to return later in the year

Ali and Bill are the perfect hosts. Ali is a qualified chef and her breakfast specials are delicious as are her home-baked treats to take with you on your day. Even before we arrived they sent us a list of recommended local restaurants which helped us to choose and book in advance our evening meals. They also recommended an excellent local pub, The Red Lion, which was homely, friendly and had great beers. Our room, which looked out onto the beach and sea, was warm, clean and comfortable with all the facilities you'd expect from a classy establishment. The sunrise over the distant headland, viewed from our room was spectacular! The B&B is right on the Jurassic Coast Path which is incredibly beautiful, especially between Lulworth Cove and Weymouth. We will definitely return.

The location was good, 10 mins from station, right on the sea front and a quiet road, so not too much traffic noise. Breakfast was fine.

Received a message from the property the morning of our first nights stay to confirm our arrival time, which was 8pm, and they informed us we would not be able to check in outside of their check-in hours as they had a party to attend that evening. No safebox to collect keys from, and they refused to leave the key with a neighbour for us to collect from. They offered no other option but to cancel our booking for the first night and suggested we book elswhere. I have never stayed in accommodation that have been so inflexible with checkin, and considering the cost of the room per night, we found the staff rude and very unaccomodating in general. Room on the top floor was incredibly hot, only one very small fan provided and the windows would not open more than 2cm so we had an awful nights sleep. The bathroom is extremely small with little ventillation, not comfortable. Generally we felt like we were an inconvenience to the owners, every request (there were not many!) was met with no help or at best a begrudged yes. Having to book a last minute hotel in a different town was very dissapointing and impacted our whole weekend. I would not personally stay here again, and did not enjoy the stay. I think it is also wildly overpriced for what is essentially a very standard B&B.

We stayed here for 3 days and from the first moment we felt warmly welcomed. Ali and Bill are doing their utmost to make your stay unforgettable. The breakfast is always a new interpretation of the “English breakfast” and delicious. We can only recommend this B&B, the special decorated rooms and the whole atmosphere. Katja and André

It was lovely having the addition of a bath in the room. The location of the property was perfect. A short walk from the station and so close to the beach. The hosts Ali & Bill were very helpful and friendly. The cooked breakfast was cooked to perfection and having the choice of a 'special' from the breakfast menu each day was a nice touch, even if we did just stick to the full English.

What a fabulous B&B! We booked for five nights and had the most wonderful time in Weymouth... Our room was beautifully decorated with some quirky touches. The hosts were great company, providing suggestions on local day trips along with some great restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was sensational - if you are a foodie then this place is a must! It was the personal touches that made our stay so special. Thanks Bill & Ali, we'll definitely be back.

Made to feel very welcome. Run by lovely folk who genuinely want their guests to have a fantastic stay. Room large, clean, comfortable. Gorgeous sea view and we could hear the waves from our huge bed. The breakfasts were exceptional, we are vegetarian and the vegetarian breakfast was the best we’ve ever had. Throughly recommend

Everything about The View on The Terrace is fabulous! The breakfast is exceptional!! I could not fault a single thing!

The location is perfect overlooking the beach within easy walking distance of the town and quay. The Flamingo room at top of the house gave a spectacular view of the bay and the lapping of the sea aided a lovely nights sleep. The breakfast is a leisurely affair with food cooked to order and delivered with a smile. Back to the food for a moment, this is quality fare that Delia or Mary would be proud to present. Little touches like a freshly baked croissant and a sorbet to clean the pallet were very much appreciated and not forgetting the cookies on arrival and during the stay.

Apart from the weather absolutely nothing!
