The apartment is very nice and located in a lovely area in Santa Luzia. It is centrally located - only a few minutes to reach the riverside with restaurants and a bit longer to reach the beach (Praia do Barril). The apartment is in a quiet area and nothing disturbs you during the sleep. We didn't use the shared balcony which is on the top of the building, but it also seemed very nice. The apartment is spacy and clean.

We had two little issues which shouldn't be played up, but I still mention them here: 1. Until the very end, we didn't really figure out how the hot water system is working. There were moments when we had to wait 10 minutes to go to the shower because we couldn't get hot water 'out'. It was kind of a tricky (I personally never succeeded and gave up, but my husband finally did). 2. The kitchen utensils (pots and pans) are coming from the previous era and seem to be 50+ years old which nobody uses anymore. It feels weird to make a morning porridge or anything else with something so old (made of aluminium, which nowadays is considered unhealthy) - if I was the owner, I would replace them with something newer.

Lovely location in Santa Luzia - an authentic pretty fishing village. Within walking (25 mins) / cycling (10 mins) distance of Tavira. Beach at Barril is about 30 mins walk (or 5 min drive and 15 mins board walk) Quiet location. Lovely views across the river especially from the roof terrace.

Apartment generally good, but could use sprucing up especially the kitchen and kitchen equipment.

Huge communal roof terrace with 180 degree view of the river and island. Great for afternoon/early evening drinks. Two large bedrooms. Excellent shower. Air con in three rooms. Owner João lives nearby and responds to requests in minutes. Will return next year!

All the furniture a little dark a little bit of a make over would transform the apartment to a light contemporary space but appreciate that the owner has kept it traditional
