Historic Charleston Home | STEPS from King Street! Great for Groups!

A fantastic historic home situated in an ideal downtown location!
Thank you for having us!

Our family really enjoyed our visit to Charleston. The beds were really cozy. We were able to walk or drive to any sights. I would stay here again!

Cousins/sisters/ sister in laws descended in downtown Charleston for the food +drink festival and to discover the city of Charleston! The house was quaint, historic and 2 blocks from all the excitement of downtown historic Charleston. Amazing restaurants, bars, theater were easy to reach. We used the pedal cabs to get to Market Street and explore there if we wanted to get their faster but was also walkable. Amazing fast response and communication by the host. If you drive an SUV I recommend parking at an open parking lot around the corner if street parking not available. The fire station crew down the road, bagel place, neighborhood coffee shop and liquor store were so friendly _as if we had lived there forever! I can’t wait to go back again!

So much fun. Loved the character of this old home. Just a few blocks from King Street. Great response from host. Great memories!

Really enjoyed our night here! Def had that Charleston feel. Minutes walk to great coffee and breakfast (Holey City Bagels) and minutes drive to great dinner (Rodney Scott BBQ). Beds incredible. Would book again.

When we arrived we did notice the outside was outdated which wasn’t that big of a deal. Once we entered the home my first impression was a party house. There was so many patched holes, open holes, the entire house leaned one way. House did not feel safe at all. I cannot even believe this place passes inspections. Very tight driveway. There’s several loose floorboards throughout the house and the porch.

Location is great to get to everything, BUT be aware that you can hear every single occurrence that walks by. The driveway is REALLY tight, so driving an SUV, pick a side to get out on, because both sides are not an option. Needs some love in the house overall, but Charleston charm wins.

Very old property. House had some issues but mainly the interior was not what I expected from the photos. For the price I paid I was disappointed.

We had 10 girls comfortably in this home for a bachelorette party. The location is unbeatable, perfect walking distance to King Street. The communication with the team was easy and quick always. I would recommend it!

Cute home conveniently located just off King Street. Short hop to the Battery or I 26 to go to N Charleston. Would definately stay again. The only thing I didn't care for were the narrow Charleston streets with on street parking which the property owner has no control over.

We loved the house! We visited in august and the humidity was oppressive. The AC struggles in the high heat & humidity, but there are fans in every room. Once the AC and fans are on, the house stays nice and cool. The upstairs porch was the perfect spot to enjoy the late afternoon downpours and the break in the humidity. Bathrooms are tiny, but clean, bright and have everything you need. We quickly learned that when pulling the car in, whoever was driving would let everybody out at the beginning of the driveway and we’d all use the front door onto the porch and then the porch door to enter the house. There is no room for anybody but the driver to exit if you have a bigger vehicle like we did. Our kids loved using that quirky porch door! So many great restaurants within a short walk. The unexpected food hits of our trip were Home Team Mac & cheese (had to go 2 nights in a row) and Le Macaron (coconut macaron & grand marnier were our faves). Hope you get to enjoy this historic gem with all the modern comforts!

Description was good. We were even able to get our GMC 4 door long bed truck in/out of the driveway.

Nicely taken care of place if you're looking to enjoy charleston
I am from charelston, but was renting a place for a number of out of town family/friends to stay. this was a great option

Decent listing
It was certainly an experience. First the negative. There were many things that didn’t work with the property. The shower handle was broken when we got there and was replaced by a needle nosed plier, the laundry machine was broken, there was not much hot water (I didn’t get any but some in the party did) and the air conditioner was asked to be left on 75. Additionally, a maintenance crew showed up unannounced to put some potted plants on the front porch which they then had to attach with plastic cords because the porch was sloped. The pictures online really don’t do justice to how small this place is. If you’re looking for a fancy place to stay, this isn’t for you.
Now the positive. The property manager could not have been more prompt and respectful. She responded to all my questions/ needs in a professional and respectful manner. The location of this house is absolutely unbeatable. Right next to great bars and restaurants. It was also very affordable and had a great living room area with a new tv that has built in Netflix, prime video, and easy hookups for a Nintendo switch.
Overall, we had a great time in Charleston. The property was fine, perfectly ok for a long weekend with friends who weren’t in the house that much, however if you’re looking to really hang out at the listing - there are certain things that weren’t working that just should have been.
Overall i would give this house an 82/100

wonderful home away from home
This wasn't our first choice, but because of unforeseen circumstances with our first choice this house fell in our lap. It was beautiful inside and able to accommodate all 6 of us comfortably. The kitchen was fully stocked and having a bbq grill opened our cooking options. The location was great too! Two doors down was a pizzeria, a block and a half walk one way was a bakery and the other way a produce stand. I would definitely stay in this house again if I was in the Charleston area.

Great central location!
We really loved this house! Everyone was super responsive to my messages and was incredibly accommodating. Everything was super clean, and the beds were so comfortable!
My only complaint was that the downstairs bedroom is directly next to a street lamp, and it is very bright at night. It also was a bit loud from sidewalk traffic. Blackout curtains and noise machines would solve this issue really easily!

House didn’t compare to pictures
The house didn’t compare to the pictures, understand that the house is old, but upkeep is important. The house was extremely hard to cool, the tile in the kitchen was busted up, and the washer did not work, said the part was ordered would have been nice to know beforehand.

Me and 10 other friends had a great time at this house! The location was unbeatable and the beds were so comfortable.

Old and quirky house in a great neighborhood!
The whole home leans a little (you just have to experience it for yourself) but it was a great house for us. It was very easy to walk right out the door and take our dogs for a walk. There were bars and restaurants within walking distance and most are pet friendly.

Great weekend spot
Great house with easy access to everything. The layout is a little different than expected given one bathroom is off the kitchen and the upstairs bathroom can only be accessed by walking through a bedroom, but it worked for us. A bit noisy if sleeping in the downstairs bedroom and the street light is very bright but it’s all part of the charm of the area. Would definitely rent again.

Old house in great location
We rented this house for a girls weekend with 7 people. The house was a good size for our group and we spent most of the weekend exploring Charleston, which the house was in the perfect location for. What the house lacked in it being older, it made up for in location and it’s very comfortable beds. We did have an issue when we arrived that the host and management company took care of immediately, which was much appreciated. In addition, we were woken by animal(s) in the ceiling above the 2nd floor each morning. We did not inform the host about this issue, but it should be looked at as it was quite noisy. Overall, the house was suitable for our plans, the host was very communicative before and while renting, and the issues we had didn’t take away from a good stay.

Perfect place for a girls trip!!!
This was the best possible house for what we had planned!!!! The location was so close to everything!!! Nothing was further than 1 mile! Amazing!! The house is super cute and the beds were super comfy!!! Couldn't have asked for a better weekend!! The hosts were AMAZING and when we had questions they responded ASAP!!! Love it! 10/10

Great house, even better location!
The house was great for my bachelorette party of 11 ladies! It was an excellant location, within walking distance of King St, which is a huge plus b/c uber's get very expensive during peak hours. The house was clean when we got there, and enough towels for everyone. The house was built in the late 1800s, so it does have its quirks - the upstairs bathroom is hit or miss on the hot water (downstairs never had a problem) and the floor on the 2nd floor isn't even (but seemed to be on par for the others houses we saw as well). I also wouldn't recommend this house for more than 10 adults, as it isn't huge, but we made it work and slept 3 girls in a king size bed. Communication prior, during and after our stay was excellent! We were able to get in early and all of our questions were answered quickly! All in all, I would for sure stay here again!

1890s Stay
Neat historic home. Would have been nice to have extra towels and sheets. One room needed to be changed upon arrival.
Bathrooms are tiny and hot water abs pressure wasn't great upstairs. Again know it's a historical home.
Beds were very comfortable and fans in every room!

This house is super close to all the shops and restaurants in King Street and easy walk to all of Historic Charleston. Very clean and plenty of beds.

Location Location Location
Great location! Just a note to future guests - they shower hot and cold are reversed. This is clearly labeled downstairs, but not upstairs... Once you figure that out there is plenty of hot water to go around😉

Central location, Smaller than looks in Pics
Communication with owners was great. The house itself doesn’t really fit 12 people and there’s very little space to sit. There also weren’t enough towels for 12 people and kitchen utensils were pretty limited. House is in a good location, very close to everything.

Christmas in Charleston
Cute house within easy walking distance of lots of restaurants, and reasonable walking distance to the tourist areas of the peninsula. It is 130 year old house, and in some ways it does show it but it was charming and we were comfortable there. The property manager was amazingly responsive before, during and afer our stay. I would recommend it

Good location with parking for 2 large SUVs. Super clean and comfy beds. Bathroom floors need some attention. Great value and size

The Perfect Graduation Weekend!
We had an amazing time at this property. A bunch of my friends and I were celebrating our graduation. The house was perfect. Great location, close to EVERYTHING! Beautiful inside and outside, plenty of room for 10 of us and a great space to hangout. David was super helpful and always making sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend staying here. I will be booking this again, for sure!

Much needed Vacation
Great experience with owners. Home was in a nice quite location that was still close to everything we had planned.

Great mattresses and linens!
Convenient to why I was there for work. Needed quick access to The Riverdogs stadium and Stoney Field. Comfortable beds after a long day of work. A large SUV in the driveway can be challenging. Felt safe in the neighborhood.

Charleston Girls Getaway
This property was in an ideal location and was walkable to everywhere. There were 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms so plenty of room for 8 ladies.
I read the reviews about the kitchen seating and they added a counter height table and stools, which was perfect for gathering when we cooked dinner. Great Job David!!

Dissappointed
The listing indicates the home sleeps 12, but there is no way. Our party was 8 and sufficient comfortable seating was lacking, the bathrooms were very confining and inconveniently located for the stated occupancy, and self-catering is impractical due to limited kitchenware and seating. We cannot recommend this home for more than 4 adults. The location is fine and the off street parking is a huge plus for Charleston. Street noise is noticeable like most of peninsula Charleston, and street lighting may interfere with a good night’s sleep. If you are eating meals out and spending the bulk of your time seeing the sights, this location may work well for you.

Great location. Average stay
This house provided my family with a great location to be walking distance to all of the sights and restaurants. Just be advised the house does have a fun house feel and is not level. The photos are deceiving in that house is not nearly as open as appeared. House was very clean.

Great location
Right in the heart of Charleston. Perfectly situated. We had a great stay. Thx David.

Great beds
This is an old historic home. Charming but quirky. Upstairs porch is really slanted away from the home. We could walk to a ton of places to eat but the down side of this was - so could everyone else and since the house is right on the street, they could be very loud. The house is also down the street from a fire house and the trucks go by at all hours. It was very comfortable for 6 of us (adults) but no place to sit to eat except the porch or the living room (no tables). All the beds were super comfy.

charleston cutie
Very cute older home in a great location. We had a few problems with the home but David could not have been better at solving them. He was so accessible and really cared that we were happy!
