Beautiful rooms, lovely quiet setting

The hotel and grounds were beautiful and very peaceful. Every morning the breakfast was served in a wonderful winter garden with fresh fruit, bread and condiments that made for a great start. The hosts are incredibly helpful and gracious.

The only downside is that there is no restaurant at the premises and you need to get a taxi to town. If they'd had a simple lunch service it would have been perfect to stay there all day to relax.

The hosts welcomed us to their beautifully renovated home. We stayed in the Family Suite and the adjacent Roseraie, with the three rooms very comfortably accommodating our family of 5 adults. The breakfast was elegantly presented and delicious - there was a different home-made treat each day. The pool was lovely - it was a pity that we weren’t able to use the pool more but there was so much to do in the local area and further afield.

a very pretty small chateau in a quiet location. The heated swimming pool was lovely although closed when we wanted a swim on our first evening. Everything beautifully and tastefully designed with respect for the history of the house. Our room and bathroom was very large with views to the garden. comfortable bed and delicious, healthy breakfast.

We would have liked a bit more flexibility with breakfast times - the current window for breakfast is 8.30 - 9.30 am and checkout by 11am. There is a beautiful, narrow spiral staircase which could be a bit of a challenge for the less mobile!

Very friendly host with great recommendations for 'what to do' and especially 'where to eat' in Saumur. Beautiful villa, old building with newly renovated and modern amenities. Great breakfast in the conservatory, with view into the garden.

henri was a friendly and helpful host with endless recommendations. rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. good location as a base to explore the loire valley.

The hotel was great. Pictures on the website did not show the beauty and scale of the hotel. We often travel through this part of France as we have a holiday home near Bordeaux. This is by far the best place we have used as a stop over. So well done and a very relaxing time had. The Owners were so Friendly

La Seignère is the most amazing bed and breakfast we have been to. The room was so big and spacious. The bathroom was gigantic with a claw foot tub and large shower with a rain fall showerhead. There is breakfast provided. They hosts went out of their way to provide decaffeinated coffee for us, and it was Nespresso! Amazing. It is located just outside the town of Saumur and very convenient to the down town and surrounding areas. I would highly recommend La Seignère to anyone looking for the best experience in the Loire!

Amazing! We loved everything about this place! The owners are so friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was delicious! We had to leave early in the morning and they made breakfast for us early so we wouldn't miss the opportunity to share their wonderful hospitality. Thank you so much for a memorable stay!!

Great location. Very high standard property, welcoming and informative hosts. Set in a wonderful little village, relaxing gardens, great views, top breakfast.

The only thing to be aware of is the spiral staircase if you are elderly, not an issue for us spritely 50 somethings though.

The house is marvelous. The room is spacious and clean. The breakfast was good, great pastries.

Value for money, I think it was a bit overpriced compared with other places we’ve stayed in.

The guest house is a stunning building, with pool and beautiful garden surrounding it. We stayed in the family room, which is very spacious and comfortable. Great large bed in the master bedroom and a wonderful shower. Location-wise, the guest house is just outside Saumur and close to the Loire and many excellent restaurants. We ate at ‘Le pot de lapin’ which was delicious! Everything is done with a lot of care and style. No plastic was used for breakfast with everything served in glass jars. The room/house is also superclean. I would feel comfortable eating from the floor. ;-)

Just a small note, that I would add some cheese, ham or eggs to the breakfast. With only marmelade, butter and chocolate spread as options, there was little to put on my bread. The owners are very professional, which is of course a big plus, but we had the impression there was a lack of ‘human interest’. The warmer touch let’s say. We had a very short stay, so it could have also just been us. :-) We would definitely recommend others to stay here!

Just everything! The location is just exceptional, a side path of a small road to Saumur (5 min). The Petite Château is stunning ( Just 4 rooms), white stone from the caverns. The reception by the owners, such a lovely couple... The interior, so tastefully and perfectly renovated, from powersockets to the crowning to the floors and old wooden stairwell, wauw. The pool, lovely fresh water and clean, big enough with perfect lounge beds and umbrellas. The exceptional high-class breakfast and all (be surprised). Just the overall calm of the property, you feel at home and everything is close by. (Also wineries to visit just up the hill) Just don’t book for 1 night, stay atleast 3 nights to enjoy the elegant Château and the surroundings. Worth every euro!

If we really try to think of anything... we would say a minifridge in the room. On the other hand, we understand it’s better and more joyfull to have a glass of wine from the owner in the garden, conservatory, beside the pool or in the beautiful garden... (and you can probably use the fridge downstairs if you ask nicely) FYI, no food at the property, book a restaurant in advance! Our modern HQ French food tip; VerVert - 9min east)
