Sobre este casaalquiler
Maine Oceanfront 5 bedroom house in Kennebunkport. Tennis, golf, biking

We love staying here year after year. The location right on the ocean cannot be beat. We love the sunrises and the changing tides. The porch is the perfect spot for reading and watching the lobster boats pass by.

Such a wonderful, beautiful, historic home. It was perfect for our family. One of our favorite parts was watching the tide come in and out from all the windows on the east side of the house. We loved walking out in the low tide and taking the kayaks, paddle board and row boat out during high tide. The house had everything we needed and the host was super helpful. What a spectacular place. We'd love to come back!

Wonderful family time
This property allowed for a wonderful family vacation with lots to do for the mix of ages. The hosts were friendly. The older home was super clean allowing its history to shine through. The kitchen had plenty of equipment to make meal prep and service easy. We loved our stay.

Absolutely beautiful!
We had such a wonderful vacation. The house was perfect and had everything we needed. The beds were all comfy and my Mom loved the "child's room" and wanted to bring it home!
We were so lucky to have beautiful weather the entire time. Being able to open all the windows and have the ocean breeze come through felt great!
At night seeing the moon reflect off the water was absolutely breathtaking. The sunrises just have to be seen!
Walking out during low tide was such a great experience for us all. We saw lots of crabs, jellyfish, and shrimp. The kids walked all the way to the lighthouse. During high tide we saw a seal which was really cool.
The meals we had from the local restaurants can only be described as absofreakinglutely amazing! The seafood was just delicious. The lobster bisque and lobster roll from Allison's was one of the best things I've ever eaten. The she-crab soup from the Maine Diner was so delicious. The food from the Chowder House and Clam Shack were amazing as well. I will miss that definitely!
My only complaint about this vacation is that we only booked 1 week. I definitely recommend renting this house if you want an absolutely relaxing and memorable vacation!

Spectacular location
Loved our stay in beautiful house Especially enjoyed the short walk to stores/restaurants and of course the opportunity to walk on the sand flats when the tide went out. Only suggestion would be to maybe update mattresses as a few were a bit hard. But we would definitely return.

Great spot on the water and great interior to lounge on a rainy day if needed.
No complaints at all. It was a beautiful spot on the ocean and a great porch/backyard to enjoy the view

Great stay at Wahwa!
This place is absolutely exceptional. We never felt the need to leave once in our four days at the house....the wraparound deck always has both sun and shade from dusk til dawn. The flats are walkable (and completely magical, an incomparable foot massage!) at low tide and swimmable/kayakable (off the dock) at high tide (and 2 hours before/after, give or take). The house is a 3 minute drive, 15 minute walk from the center of Cape Porpoise, and 7-8 minutes drive from Kennebunkport....so if you need things, everything is nearby. Candida and family were great hosts and were next door/reachable should you need them.

We had an amazing time staying here. The place was immaculate and the views were incredible. We enjoyed the changing tides and took advantage by kayaking and paddle boarding at high tide and explored the islands at low tide. Thanks for a wonderful vacation!

The Yellow house was really a special place! The location and views were amazing! We loved being in Cape Porpoise this time of year to see the foliage! The house was furnished very nicely and was well equipped! The upstairs baths were a bit snug but we understand the owners are updating this winter! The restaurants and shops in the Cape Porpoise area/ Kennebunkport are delightful! We truly enjoyed our long weekend get away!

Perfection
Wahwa is wonderful. The house itself is as clean as it is comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed. The views from the porch, lawn, and living room and bedrooms are stunning. The natural rhythm of weather and tides encourages everyone to relax and engage the day as it comes. There are plenty of activities for all levels of skill and energy. Lie on the porch with a good book, walk the sand flats, swim, kayak in the harbor or head into the ocean. Or do all of the above in a day, rinse and repeat. Not into water activities- bikes and a gentle on the knees clay tennis court are available. Hungry and don’t feel like cooking ? You can walk to several good restaurants and deli food. Willing to cook? Check out Langsford Rd Fishhouse for fresh seafood. Watch the sunset as you barbecue. Put your feet up and see the moon upon the water. Sleep well in comfortable beds. Enjoy perfection.

Such a special place!
Wahwa did not disappoint again! Such a special place to our family, as we vacationed here as children and now can enjoy with our children. We had such fun on the kayaks at high tide and exploring the flats and islands at low tide. The weather was perfect-only a quick thunderstorm Saturday afternoon, but then a beautiful rainbow appeared shortly thereafter. Louise, next door at Wahwa North, was fabulous! Friendly, helpful and so accommodating. We love our time at Wahwa!

A relaxing family vacation!
We had an amazing time at Wawah South Cottage! It was the perfect home away from home with an amazing view and unique experiences right outside the door including the tidal flats (a big hit with our 2 year old) and the kayaking. Communication was great and the hosts even coordinated with our baby rental equipment so that everything went super smoothly. Great location with many options for things to do, both walking distance and quick drives. Thank you for everything!

Wonderful Family Vacation at Wahwa Cottage
My family spent a memorable week at Wahwa Cottage in early June. The cottage is spacious, very clean, and fully stocked with the essentials, like towels, linens, kitchenware, soaps, toilet paper, etc., which was much appreciated. The home feels modern yet maintains charming elements of its storied past, like sinks in each of the bedrooms and antique furniture throughout the home. Our favorite part was definitely the breathtaking views, which can be seen from very window, and the porch, which was a lovely spot to relax and enjoy the beauty of the islands and lighthouse of Cape Porpoise. We enjoyed exploring the sand flats at low tide and searching for seashells, and several of us enjoyed taking out the two kayaks that are available for use. The location of the home is ideal, as it's only about a 5 to 10 minute drive to downtown Kennebunkport and within walking distance to many great restaurants, including the Chowder House at the pier. It was a wonderful family vacation and we hope to return one day!

60th Birthday at Cape Porpoise
This home is absolutely beautiful! There are gorgeous views. The house maintains the unique charm from when it was originally built, but is updated to make every day living very comfortable. The house is clean, there are plenty of towels, blankets, and linens. It was easy to check-in and check out. The instructions for staying in the house were very helpful. The owners were very responsive, kind, and helpful. This was the perfect place to go to celebrate my husband's 60th Birthday. I flew our grown children to Maine as a surprise. We were all able to stay at the house, which made my husband (and me) very happy! Everyone loved the house and the location. We will definitely go back. I could not have asked for a more perfect experience!!!! Thank you.

Beautiful home and great location!
We spent Labor Day weekend at Cape Porpoise, and it was the perfect way to end the summer. This house was spacious enough for our three families, very clean and fully stocked with everything we needed. The kids spent hours searching for sea creatures on the sand flats at low tide and swimming and kayaking when the tide was in. Restaurants within walking distance and a short 5 minute drive to downtown Kennebunkport. Great family vacation!

Amazing
Special beyond words is this vacation home. This is my 3rd year renting. The location is perfect - beautiful view, excellent high and low tide activities, food choices within walking distance. The house itself is charming, clean and functions well. Go! I recommend considering the times off the peak season. September is glorious with lower crowds and warmer water.

Such a special spot!! Eight feet of water during high tide then walking to the islands at low tide!
Our parents rented this property back in the 80s and to return with our children was so special. We were welcomed by Amy and Louise upon our arrival and they were able to share stories of the property with us throughout the week-so very interesting to learn more about this special place! It was very nostalgic being there, as my brother, sister, parents and I walked through the house so much had remained the same-all in a good way!!
We lucked out weather-wise-rarely left the property other than a quick trip to Bradbury's Market, or an easy path walk to the pier for lunch or a fantastic dinner at Pier 77! There is just so much you can do at Wahwa-crabbing, hunting for sea glass, kayaking and paddle boarding (rented for a few days), tennis across the driveway (note- if you lose a ball over the fence-let it be-the swamp that saved the houses from a fire decades ago can keep all the balls it gets!) or as many of us did- just read or relax on the deck and enjoy the beautiful scenery! We did have about a 2 hour window of a thunderstorm which my sister-in-law and I took as an opportunity to enjoy the lightning show from the wonderful reading nook in one of bedrooms!
Kudos to Cape Porpoise for putting on a fireworks show just off Goat Island. No one felt like driving to Kennebunkport to see the show there, and luckily we didn't have to go anywhere but the deck to get our July 4th show in!
We all thoroughly enjoyed being back at this very special place!! One suggestion... offer those great Wahwa glasses to the renters-many of us were tempted to take one as a momento! ;)

Paradise
Our extended family of 9, 4 adults and 5 kids, spent a week in this special place. It's large and comfortable with plenty of space so no one feels cramped. Right on the water and the kids swam and used kayaks and paddle boards every day. Easy kayak trip to Goose Island lighthouse. Easy walk to cafe and smaller grocery store for essentials. Cafe has wonderful deli with fresh foods. Would recommend to anyone looking for some peaceful times.

Wahwa
We rented this wonderful property years ago when our children were younger. This year we rented with our children and grandchildren. This is the perfect location for families because of the gentle water for tiny tots, significant tide changes for kayaking, and plenty of room for walking on the flats. The turn-of-the-20th century house is immaculate, absolutely charming, and has everything a vacationing family would want - its within close driving to crashing waves of pristine beaches, walking distance from the charming village of Cape Porpoise and its good, down-home family restaurants, close to the tourist haven of Kennebunkport, and self-contained luxury. Don't you dare rent here -- we want it for ourselves forever!!!

Perfect cottage, perfect location
I rented Wahwa Cottage for a family get-a-way with my adult children and adult grandchildren.. It was like going back in time. The house is beautiful with the charm of years ago. The cottage is well maintained and very clean. The view is spectacular and relaxing on the wrap around porch was wonderful. We never went out to eat because we wanted to stay right there. When the tide was out, we played bocce ball and walked to the island. When the tide was in, we swam and kyacked. What fun! We had a tennis tournament on the tennis court and played games such as ladder ball and bean bag toss which we brought with us. It's a short walk to the little down town and we went to Bradbury's Market for freshly made muffins and donuts.
It's a short walk to the Chowder House on the pier if you feel like some good seafood and you eat at the picnic tables on the pier. We couldn't have found a more perfect place for the family to all get together and hope to return again.

Excellent New England Experience
We hosted a 50th birthday party for family and friends. This was the second of two houses we rented for the weekend and by far the favorite. We couldn't stop talking about how peaceful it was and how beautiful the views were from the house. It worked perfectly for the Sunday afternoon Lobster Bake on the lawn.
