Die Lage der Unterkunft war für uns genial. Die Bungalows befinden sich in mitten des grünen Dschungel und doch hat man einen schönen Ausblick auf den Lion Rock. Wir waren umgeben von den tollen Geräuschen der vielen Tiere. Falls man ausserhalb Essen möchte, organisiert dir Amila ein Tuk Tuk. Das Frühstück war sehr köstlich und reichhaltig.

Amila was really great host! He arranged us everything we needed. Room was nice and clean and had a beautiful view to Lion's Rock . Breakfast was tasty and portion size was big, which we liked. If you like animals and wildlife, this is the place for you!

The stilted buildings are really cool and give you a great view. We saw a whole range of amazing birds and some lizards from the balcony, and our room (at the end) had a good view of Sigiriya rock. Amila is a wonderful host and really helped us before our stay with booking things.

The room is quite basic but to be expected for the price and is just what we needed.

I had an absolutely incredible stay at this accommodation in Sigiriya! The location was simply breathtaking, nestled right in the heart of Sri Lanka's stunning natural beauty. The eco-friendly wooden house was a real treat, and it was clear that the hosts had gone to great lengths to make sure it was as sustainable and comfortable as possible. The host was also an absolute delight to meet. They were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. Their knowledge of the local area and recommendations for things to see and do were invaluable, and really added to the overall experience. I can't recommend this accommodation highly enough - it's the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and truly unwind in nature. Thank you for a truly unforgettable stay!

I loved the hut, I loved being in nature, I loved the nature sounds! The full window view was great. The balcony was very nice (just pack some anti mosquito spray for the afternoons). The host is very accommodating, knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay and for all the travelling tips!

Authentic wooden huts, you can’t be more in nature than this. Beautiful area, view on Sigiriya rock, peaceful and quiet. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable, there was a mosquito net on it. Super friendly and helpful owner, also provided accommodation for our driver.

I found it fantastic to be in the wild, but can imagine it’s not for everyone. You’ll need a car or tuk tuk to go for dinner, and you hear all the nature sounds from early in the morning.

Unique & situated in a beautiful & quiet location.

Nothing! it was the perfect place to start our trip around Sri Lanka.

We went from Kandy straight to Chena huts and we’re happy to find ourselves back surrounded by nature. The property is beautiful and peaceful. You can see many birds, monkeys and if your lucky even elephants. The owner, Amila, is so kind and helps you out with whatever you need. No request is to much. It is also a perfect stop for when you plan to hike Lions rock or Pirudangala rock.

We had a lot of rain the first night which was a bit noisy on the roof.

Me and my friends had the best week at the Chena Huts. After this place all the other places we stayed seemed like a downgrade. Amila is literally the perfect host, jis family is very sweet, mom is the best cook. Amila is very attentive to all of our requests, he organised dinners, allowed us to be included in the cooking process, helped us with our laundry, even took us on trips around his village, rice fields, showed the local temple... The huts itself were very spacious, had mosquito nets, hot shower. Well looked after, comfortable beds. We could see Lion's rock just from our balcony. There were huge amount of birds and other animals surrounding us, so animal lovers will really like this. 110% recommend this place! We will never forget this experience <3

This is a very special lodging option that stands out from the crowd. You are really in nature. When checking in, the owner showed us an elephant footprint just next to our hut. One morning we saw a hornbill on the adjacent balcony. View from the balcony to Sigiriya Rock is amazing. Room is quite spacious for us to open three suitcases at the same time. There are mosquito nets on some of the windows to keep them open during the night. We were welcomed in style with tea and palm sugar based sweet. Chena Huts was the only place where we received such welcome. Breakfast was freshly prepared and plentiful. Each room has stairs to go up to, the owner helped to bring our luggages to the room. They can also book elephant safaris, however they are conscious about conflict of interests with driver companies organizing a full tour. Make sure to clarify what is agreed and not agreed as part of your driver contract.

I personally liked everything, but I can see this won't be suitable for everyone. Here are a couple of aspects to consider. You are really in nature. This means throughout the night you will hear noises from various creatures. Sometimes you'll find smaller critters in the room. As elephants roam around the area, it's not advised to walk outside during the night. Open windows with mosquito nets. This means you will hear the neighboring huts and vice versa. The weather was rainy while we were there, so the content of our luggage was a bit damp after two days. Location. It is a bit out of town, you will need a car or rent a tuktuk to get around, especially for dinner as there is no dining option onsite. Each room has stairs to go up to ... if that's a concern for some travellers.

Chena Huts is a quiet and beautiful place - you can see the Lion Rock from the balcony, sitting with amazing birds all around. Very convenient to visit the Lion Rock and Dambulla. The tree house is super fun for kids too. Definitely recommend!

The owner was a wonderful host. Very caring. The tree houses have a nice view. We saw Sigiriya Rock right from our bed after waking up. Beautiful sounds of nature because of the wooden walls. Hot Shower. Breakfast great. Thank you so much for letting us spend time here.

Amazing staff, great experience. The breakfast was nice too. Go for a night in a tree house when staying in Sigiriya. It is definitely worth it

Super great spot to stay! Awesome tree houses and am amazing view of sigiriya rock right from your balcony! Clean, comfortable beds and nice breakfast in the morning, highly recommend staying here!

The owners were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the room definitely adequate. The view of Sigiriya Rock was perfect from the cabin we stayed in. It was lovely to sit outside on the deck and look at the rock as the day drew to a close. We had a lovely last evening meal with the owner (and our chauffeur) as he prepared a Sri Lankan curry for my sister and I to enjoy.

The guests in the chalets next to us were very noisy. Not the establishments fault, and at one point the owner did go and ask them to be quiet as other guests were trying to sleep. Basically, you can hear everything in the chalets next to you! Ablutions very basic, but we didn't expect anything more, so all OK!
