The house is large and comfortable enough to accommodate our whole family. The kids "dormitory" downstairs adds to the camping experience for the little ones. We fished, canoed, went to the beach near by and had a great time.
We plan to be back next year.

Weekend fishing with friends and family. House was great, nice, clean and spacious. Location is absolutely wonderful. Fishing was so-so, but overall -- great experience with this rental. Would definitely stay here again. Son-in-law made note of the address to book a stay with his fishing buddies.

After a short issue with the lock on the property the rest of the weekend went without incident. As the pictures show the view of the water and adjacent state preserve are spectacular. Kitchen is nicely outfitted and plenty of seating space for our family of 8 including the girlfriends. Downstairs sleeping arrangements are also nicely done. We didn’t use the grill this trip but it is there for your use and the kayaks make a great morning and evening fishing opportunity. All around we will certainly return in the spring!

For some of us, the stay was great, but for others, not so great. The up stairs contains a living area with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathroom, kitchen and living area. It was great! The downstairs had 2 bedrooms and a bathroom along with a small kitchen counter, washer and dryer and fridge. The downstairs had a window unit and a portable air conditioner, which leaked huge amounts of water on the floor the entire time. The fridge reaked of shrimp wich permeated the whole room. There were also 2 dehumidifiers that had to be emptied about 4 times a day. But what was really wrong with this room was that it had a very, very strong Raid smell. So much that if you spent any amount of time down there, your lips would burn from the chemicals. They must have set off a bomb right before we got there. Even the comforters smelt of Raid. If you used the washer, it made such a loud sound that you honestly couldn't have a conversation with it running. The bottom foor was a miserable mess. This house should not be listed as a 5 bedroom home. More like a three bedroom home with a basement to store fishing equipment. We were told that the bottom floor would have a musky smell and that we needed to open the door and let the air conditioner run for about 20 minutes. Never smelt a musky smell, just Raid. So if you were fortunate to get the upstairs, you were comfortable! However, not so comfy for those downstairs.

Our daughter was getting her white coat from UTMB and we were able to come together for the ceremony and stay for a vacation. We had 12 adults and a 5 year old. Everyone had a bed! The upstairs is truly luxurious and comfortable. Downstairs is functional. We sent the youngest daughter and her friends down there. They could stay up a little later so that was nice. The location is perfect. Some of us easily went to the beach and some stayed at the house with kayaks and a float and some fished and set crab traps. There are games, beach toys, and life jackets. The kitchen is very well stocked. There is a lot of room for family games inside and out. We had a very nice stay!

Great place to stay! We had family and friends on a "take it easy" vacation and were highly satisfied with our stay. Multiple downstairs beds made it the younger adults territory while the upstairs was taken by the "slightly " older adults. Days at the beach were followed by nights on the dock catching sand/speckled trout. 3 full meals were cooked during our stay and the kitchen had all of the essentials needed. House was nice and clean and neighborhood was quiet. Overall great stay!

The property is so beautiful just like the pictures . Being on the water was so much fun and we caught several fish. The neighborhood is beautiful and the neighbors are friendly. The beach is just a few minutes away which is very convenient. In about a 20 minute drive we were able to get to all of the energy that was in town. Overall this is an amazing property!

There were 10 adult and 3 children. With 4 designated bedrooms it was easy to assign areas and made it possible for privacy and time together! The house is clean. The view great and the response from the property manager was prompt and positive. Thank you for helping to make our family vacation a success!

Location, house and neighborhood were top notch. The house was decorated so nice. The 1st thing I look at when booking are the bedrooms. No one wants to rent a house with uncomfortable beds. The beds had very pretty and neat linen's and were super comfortable, good pillows and big. Kitchen had everything we needed. The living room was very comfortable and spacious. The bottom level was perfect when you have kids who love their own room/space away from parents. It had small kitchen and fridge which was a plus and a small restroom/shower also perfect. Driveway nice and roomy. Fishing and boatlift great and awesome greenlight for night fishing. Will stay again.

Location of property was perfect. House was on the located right on bay as stated. Able to fish right off the dock. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of space and seating for everyone. Beach about a mile / 2 miles away. Able to park car on beach. We had a great time. Would stay at house again.

We chose this house because it had 5-bedrooms and could accommodate our extended family which included grandparents and kids. The main level of the home is beautiful and updated with an amazing deck with views of the water. The lower level felt like a completely different home, housing two of the five bedrooms, one small stand-up shower, and separated toilet and sink. The lower level is more like a large college dorm with basic amenities. It is fine for sleeping, albeit warm and humid, guests will not want to spend extended time in the lower level. There are window units and dehumidifiers, but they struggle to keep up.

Love the house, plenty of room for everyone, the house was very clean and had everything we needed, the views from the deck are amazing. Loved having coffee there. Everything was nice and comfortable. Communication with owner was great.

We loved our stay, the location is great. We left a note for the cleaning crew, we realize that doesn’t all fall on the homeowner don’t get us wrong, we LOVED the stay, but they could have been a little more thorough. We would highly recommend this location, if you’re bringing a bigger party the rooms are split between the levels with access via outdoor stairs (that’s in the description and we didn’t read through that well enough to catch that before booking but it wasn’t a problem, just something to keep in mind for larger parties!). We caught some fish and enjoyed every sunrise and sunset, the patio is spacious and this is truly an amazing location!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the Thanksgiving break close to Galveston Bay. The house suited well the needs of our group of eight adults and six children. The two fridges were a big help when it came to storing all the food for such a large group for a week.
The owner was very responsive to our needs.
Lastly, a dolphin was sighted for about 30mns in the canal by the house. Young and old were delighted to observe its frolicking.
We certainly will consider renting the property again.

Nice house at a great location. Outstanding view of the bay and you’re right on the water. Well stocked home with plenty of supplies. Upstairs area was perfect for our group. Beds were comfortable and plenty of pillows.
Only complaint was the smell of the downstairs area. The musty smell was very strong and never went away. AC units were running and De-Humidifiers we’re emptied twice per day and it didn’t help.

The weather could not of been any better for our stay. Great location, beautiful moon nights, fishing was fun, kayaking, bike riding. The beach is close. The house has everything.

The neighborhood was very quiet as advertised, even for a holiday weekend. The property was well maintained inside and out...clean. Our family of 10 did not feel cramped with the 4 kids staying downstairs and the 3 couples upstairs. Fabulous time spent just far enough away from them main strip to feel secluded but close enough for a short drive.
PSA...as advertised on the listing, MOSQUITOS are no joke! Come prepared.

This is the 4th time we have visited this property and it never fails to amaze. the owner has continued to make small subtle upgrade over time but the charm and overall attractiveness of the property remains. It has a great location on the canal with very easy access to Galveston State park for those who enjoy kayaking, and the sunrise is spectacular for those included to get up tht early.

Well-kept house, AC cool amidst hot days. It was nice fishing in the back. We caught crabs every day. The kids really enjoyed kayaking. The 2nd Floor Main area was a great gathering place. The basement level was detergent-smell heavy, so no one wanted to stay there, even though four of the five beds were there. We just crowded into the upstairs rooms and main area. We daily used the supplied Keurig coffee maker and cooked much in the kitchen. We really appreciated the quick reply to our calls/questions from the manager. We all had a really good annual family vacation. Praise God for this place!

The house was great for our family. At first I wasn’t sure about the 1st floor being separate from the main floor. But it worked out great for our 6 grandsons. It was like a dormitory!
The kitchen was extremely functional….has a huge island. We love being on the canal….keeps our grandsons busy fishing until everyone is ready to go to the beach. I’m booking this house again for next year!

This place is in a quiet nice and peaceful neighborhood. We were able to fish off the canal. We got up and started fishing! I would recommend this place to 4 couples only since the downstairs bedrooms are together and one of the bedroom has no ac. You have to keep the door open in order to use the ac that is in the other bedrooom, which is ok if it's kids staying there. Other than that, it is a great place! I definately would stay here again!

This was a very relaxing weekend with daughters, daughter-in-laws, friends and Granddaughters. The house was big enough for all of us to enjoy. The deck upstairs was perfect to eat most of our meals. We fished a lot, ate a lot, and talked a lot. We added to our lifetime of memories! Thank you!
