To be honest totally nothing I was very happy

It's a good place for relaxation....very cool and welcoming.Would like to thank the owner's son,Keane for helping us when we had a slow puncture.

I didn't like the fact that it's located far away from shops.

I like the area as well as the activities that we could do at the same place

It was like we were not expected first given a unit with beds that were not made, then we were given better units that seemed as though they had never been checked at all full of dust no gas in the other one and lots of cob webs. Really wasn't worth the 10k we had spent. But we were qith both our parents and children with my husband we decided to make best with what we had

Gross Misrepresentation, False Advertising, Total Dump Our family arrived Friday , early evening, at about 18:00. On arrival the manager showed us to our unit and said he will bring our Microwave and Television. We found it odd as the unit we saw on the pictures had a mounted wall unit. Upon inspection we realized this was not what was advertised on the booking site. The rooms were hardly decorated, the furniture filthy and stained. The shower could not be used as it was full of grime. The kitchen was ill equipped with the bare minimum, you would not be able to cook a proper meal with what was available. There was no key to open the patio door. The DSTV did not work. The Wi-Fi was also not working. We tried to make the best of it, and thought to start a fire outside to sit on the ‘as advertised’ outside patio furniture. Again not a reflection of what was advertised. The exterior walls were littered with thousands of cracks in various states of repair with a rusted table and plastic chairs. Not at all the idyllic picture painted on the site. My husband phoned the owner and spoke about the DSTV and Wi-Fi not working. The owner blamed it on Telkom. A lackluster response especially with over a hundred other providers available to choose from. There are also about 3 blocks of abandoned structures, (not an active construction site ) and it would appear that the developer ran out of money and just left it as such. This would explain the state of The Anchorage overall with huge visible cracks throughout all the exterior walls again not the images shared on the site. Needless to say we checked out after one night. I travel extensively for work, to the most remote places in South Africa and I've never experienced a place that charges the rate The Anchorage does and offers you something close to a backpackers in return. The advertising is shockingly misleading. Huge disappointment. Avoid at all costs!

The view was amazing and the people really kind

Wifi and signal was a problem and the parking we were allocated was constantly occupied

Broken Fridge - Owner took 24hours to replace after arguing with us that there was nothing wrong with the fridge - It was completely smashed ... We had a 2 and 6 year old with us who would have easily cut there fingers No fans or dishwasher AS ADVERTISED - The owners daughter promised to arrange fans for us when she heard how unhappy we were - Never materialised either Pictures of unit NOTHING of what it is - The unit on the web is the owners daughters unit, she has made it beautiful and homely. The rest of the houses are all old with broken and damaged furniture ... Chairs are stained, TV broken, Fridge broken, TV cabinet looks like its from the old age home ... Full of personal old stuff RUDE OWNER - Not helpful. After his daughter apologised and offered us a FREE night for all the bad service we received, he came and told us "No Free stay, we are booked you must leave by tomorrow" ... He was complaining to the manager Katy while we were having lunch "He is the owner and he makes decisions, no free nights will be given to the difficult clients we are" No cleaning of the units - We had to pay additional R250.00 for cleaning, we asked the ladies to clean. At 16:30 the unit was still clean, they claim to not have keys to the units .. SO you must leave it unlocked all day .. HOW SAFE? OVERPRICED FOR WHAT YOU GET .. We paid R18 000 for 4 nights, this place was not even close to the value. R10 000 is max I would have paid Owner lets his dog swim in the pool, and washes the dogs eyes in it - Didnt CLEAN the pool once in 4 days we were there A dog poohed by the pool area amongst guests - NO one even cleaned it up Dog pooh all around the resort - It states NO PETS To save yourself the disappointment and frustration I wouldn't go here at all ... They keep going with the fact that "Its a new development only been 5 years" - Then DONT FALSE advertise, DONT rip people off, DONT be rude and have NO Hospitality ....
