The Retreat
Bonjour et merci de considérer notre retraite paisible dans les arbres. Tessie Mae et moi adorons accueillir des invités et nous ferons de notre mieux pour vous assurer, à vous et à vos invités, un séjour agréable tout en visitant Austin.
Nous ne sommes qu'à vingt minutes de la vie nocturne animée de la ville d’Austin à Austin Lake Estates (les habitants de notre pays nous référons à notre quartier sous le nom de Cuernavaca) niché dans le pittoresque Hill Country. Si vous êtes d'humeur à faire du shopping, à voir un morceau ou à dîner, la Hill Country Galleria n'est qu'à dix minutes. Que diriez-vous d'une randonnée? Commons Ford Park est dans le quartier sur le magnifique lac Austin.
La maison principale comprend trois chambres confortables (trois lits queen-size), deux salons confortables, deux salles de bain et une cuisine complète. Netflix, Amazon Prime, You tube TV avec Internet haute vitesse.
Détendez-vous dans le bain à remous tout à l’arrière, détendez-vous dans le hamac sous les grands chênes ou lisez un livre sur la balançoire. Tout est là pour votre plaisir. Une laveuse et une sécheuse sur les lieux si vous aviez besoin.
Le propriétaire habite dans un logement séparé situé à l'arrière de la maison principale. Il y a une clôture recouverte de jasmin asiatique dense entre les habitations pour assurer votre confidentialité.
Les chiens et les chats bien élevés sont les bienvenus. Un supplément de 100 USD par animal doit être ajouté lors de la réservation.

The Retreat was an absolutely amazing property. The house was secured with a gate, impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, incredibly comfortable, and very spacious. It was located in a peaceful and pleasant neighborhood.
During our stay, we resided in the main house with our two small dogs, and they thoroughly enjoyed the expansive backyard. The property also features two additional bedrooms and another bathroom upstairs, making it an ideal option for families with children or larger groups.
We were there for golf, and the house is inside 20 minutes from UT Golf Club, Falconhead GC in Lakeway and Omni Barton Creek.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away to Austin.

This is a great property. Clean and well equipped. Close to some really neat restaurants and many other conveniences. Steve is a fabulous host who thinks of everything and makes sure we have everything required to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Booked the last 2 years and already booked again for next year. Great spot!

This property has beautiful landscaping, great artwork and a really accommodating host (Steve). He provided breakfast food for us, sent excellent directions for check in and made contact to ensure our comfort.
We had Our small dog, and the fencing provided great security and privacy. Really enjoyed the stay!

We had a wonderful weekend getaway. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. The yard is beautiful and spacious. It was perfect for our dogs. We were a short drive from great restaurants, hiking, kayaking, and the city.
Steve is an amazing host. He left a few things for us in the fridge and even brought us donuts one morning! He gave us great recommendations on places to eat and hike. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back again.

Every detail from start to finish was fantastic! Steve ( host ) was super easy to reach and prompt to answer any questions or concerns. The place is immaculate, charming and cozy - and just the right spot for me (and my dog Buddy!) to recover and refuel. Loved every minute! Thank you Steve! I will most definitely return:)

Very nice and well maintained property, exceeded my expectations. The neighborhood is very quiet and I love that I that I saw deer on every walk I took. It was very easy to get Lyft services in the neighborhood and every activity we wanted to do was within 30 minutes of the house, no matter which part of Austin we wanted to visit. Steve is a phenomenal host checking to see that we had everything we needed and provided additional information to assure we had a great time in Austin.

Our stay was exactly what we were hoping for...relaxing...reading in the outdoor hammocks or sipping morning coffee outside listening to the morning chorus of song birds .
Upon our arrival, the house was clean and very welcoming, with fresh flowers, snacks and ingredients for an Austin, Texas breakfast. The house was set up perfectly for our human family and our pet dog. The fenced in yard meant our Grand Babies and our pet were able to explore and have plenty of outdoor time!
We would not hesitate to stay there again thanks to the hospitality of the owner, and our overall satisfaction with the property!

We are two couples who travel extensively following Formula 1. We usually stay downtown for the USGP but decided to try something different this year. Sure glad we did. Steve was a wonderful host and the accommodations were just as advertised.. Steve had suggestions for lots of nearby restaurants, which panned out and it was a short ride downtown if we preferred. Great property, great host, 5 stars.

Wonderful setting for a vacation rental! The house was very clean and had everything you could possibly need for your vacation. Very close to downtown.

Steve is not only a gracious host but offers a beautiful property and accommodation for his guests close to downtown Austin with a feel you are out in the country.

Home was excellent, Property Manager (Steve) was very helpful and left welcome gifts, orange juice, milk, bagels, cream cheese, cookies bananas...house was safe, quiet and they weekend was awesome...highly recommend

Peaceful Retreat
My daughter and I enjoyed our visit so much. Steve and Tessie May were so welcoming and made our stay so enjoyable. We live different directions and met up to unwind and catch up. Steve and Tessie May’s place is like staying at a mini resort. The large trees and beautiful landscaping make for a peaceful quite stay. Even in the hot weather it was nice under the trees. Well equipped Vrbo. Has everything you need.

Great Place to Stay
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The location was great, the large fenced in area worked great with our kids and dog, the house has the old Austin charm (not the commercialized stuff that much of Austin has become), and Steve and his pup Tessie May were outstanding hosts. It’s just a great place to stay.

Great hill country retreat
My family and I were visiting Austin for the holiday weekend and UT football game. The Retreat was the perfect place for our stay. Steve and Tessie Mae were excellent hosts! He even had snacks waiting for my family since we arrived so late. So very thoughtful. 😊
I would highly recommend this location for anyone visiting the Austin area. We would certainly love to stay here again.

Hurricane Ida Evacucation
We stumbled across Steve's property while franticly looking for a pet friendly place to evacuate to for Hurricane Ida. We were so thankful to have found not only a peaceful retreat, but also a wonderful and accommodating host. Due to the destruction of the storm to our hometown, we were not being allowed to head home. Steve graciously let us extend our stay. We cannot say enough how blessed we felt to have found this little home away from home in Austin! The yard is gated and beautiful with lots to room for our pups to run and play. The property is about 20 minutes from downtown, just perfect for exploring! Steve also brought us breakfast bagels, cream cheese, muffins, and a delicious watermelon!
You won't regret booking this property!

Lovely property - friendly host
My family and I stayed at Steve's house for almost a week and really enjoyed it. Everything was very clean and tidy, and the outdoor space is very well maintained. Our kids loved the hammocks and "swimming" in the hot tub. Steve is a very friendly and helpful host - we arrived to find juice and bagels in the fridge, and he also brought us a chilled watermelon during our stay. Tessie Mae frequently came over to visit, much to the delight of our kids. We had a very relaxing time, and would definitely stay again.

Relaxing 4th of July
First of all, Steve was an outstanding host. As he was headed out of town, he called to touch base and give some information on where to find things around the home. And he was always quick to reply to any questions we had. The pictures of the property do not do it justice. It is beautiful and has everything you could ask for to stay inside and relax. But the yard is just as lovely if you decide to sit out and take in the fresh air or go for a dip in the hot tub. Our family needed to unwind and this was the perfect setting for that. Absolutely loved it and Steve's hospitality is second to none.

Excellent stay!!!
This was the best experience! Three moms and our three adult daughters for our annual mother/daughter trip….our host was amazing and kind! The house itself was perfect for us. And…we got to hang out with Tessie Mae! ❤️ Highly recommend to anyone in the Austin area!!

Perfect In-Town Getaway
This property feels like you’re in the country while being tucked into a close-knit community close to whatever you might need. The property owner is the most attentive and helpful we’ve found, and the place is immaculate. Doesn’t hurt that we love his style in art - many really cool touches and a great indoor-outdoor property.

Best away from home stay ever!
The property is fenced and very well groomed and perfect for our dog. The kitchen is well equipped. Home very comfortable too. Quiet and safe neighborhood. I walked daily at Commons Ford, so beautiful! Steve is the perfect host!!

Great Austin area house
My family immensely enjoyed our stay at this property. We use VRBO a lot and this property is one of the best. We were in town for a wedding and needed space for our family of 4 and our dog. This house and host were perfect! The house is like a home away from home and the property is beautiful and spacious. Getting to know Steve and his sweet dog, Tessie Mae, were a bonus to our stay. Steve even took care of our dog while we were at the wedding!

Wonderful Stay
We had a wonderful stay at this property. We often travel with our dog and it is hard to find a nice yard with good fencing. This property had everything we needed. The home was in great condition and very nicely decorated. The check-in and check-out process was the easiest we have had with a short term rental. This is definitely a place we will tell our friends and family about. Steve was a great host!

Nice Austin getaway
This was a delightful place to stay for a couple of days. It is tucked into the details and we glazed over it, but you are on the property with the owner which we weren't entirely prepared for. However, he's delightful, helpful, and accommodating. He even gave my pup treats and gifted us a watermelon.

Escapade
This place was exactly the amount of relaxing we were needing in the middle of this pandemic. We enjoyed the oaks, the hot tub, the hammocks .... we only left the property one day and the rest enjoyed the space inside and outside. The house was clean and comfortable and perfect location. Steve and Tessie Mae (little 4 legged friend) are terrific hosts. We even had water and breakfast food and fruits for when we got there :) Thank you for letting my family recharge at your great place!
