O quarto e restantes acomodações eram boas.
a localização, por muito que conveniente estava demasiado perto da vida nocturna e vistas janelas não terem um bom isolamento acústico, houve demasiado barulho a noite toda.

Very friendly host and comfortable room.
Being in the center of Leiria social (night)life, there was quite some noise from the street at night. It comes with the great location :-)

While looking up accommodations in Leiria that would work for my stay, I stumbled upon 3 equally good choices, one of which was Guest House Eça. The other two had breakfast buffet options, but due to its proximity to my places of interest and better amenities, I opted for Guest House Eça instead. Upon entering the building where it’s located you would notice immediately it’s old, a bit musty, but the guest house was different altogether – the decor was modern and functional at the same time. Usually with this type of accommodations the photos are an exaggeration of the actual facilities, except I was pleasantly surprised to experience the opposite. You get exactly what you see online, no corners cut. The host was super friendly and helpful, and the other guests with which I shared the common spaces and bathrooms were also kind & welcoming. I only stayed for a night, went for a walk after arriving close to 6 PM, and by then the city was starting to light up and come alive. It was, all in all, a wonderful experience.
I would also like to mention that the host was exceptionally understanding. The morning after my stay I had to leave early to attend to my appointments, which extended until the late afternoon. Although I had already cleared the room of my belongings, I had to leave one duffel bag behind that I was planning on picking up around noon, and informed the host well past the check-out time. He said it wasn’t a problem if I collected it later as my afternoon schedule was slightly unpredictable, so I ended up being able to get my bag from the guest house around 4:30 PM. Almost 5 hrs after the supposed check-out time. I must have been a headache but the host held on to it and reassured me it wasn’t a problem. For this alone it’s not hard to see you would be in good hands, if ever you decide on staying in the guest house.
Due to it being situated right in the city center, at night there were tourists and passersby whose chatter are audible from the bedroom even with the windows shut. The next door guest, during my stay, was also up until well into the night and was conversing with his companion, and I could also hear that. It didn’t really bother me as I can sleep even with background noise, but it may be a dealbreaker to other guests who prefer the quiet.

We had appointments at SEF to ask for permanent residence cards, and the Eça Alojamento was within easy walking distance. Our host, Pedro, was born in London to Portuguese parents, so fully bi-lingual and bi-cultural; we had a good chat, and he was kind enough to meet us at the Sé car park and help us with our bags. Really good guy. The bed was actually two beds together, so ample to allow both of us to stretch out comfortably. The kitchen had almost everything one could want, and thanks to Covid-19, we had our own, lockable bathroom. Everything was clean and new-looking. Water throughout was abundant and HOT. Decent shower and a base with textured material to prevent slipping.
The room overlooked a narrow lane in the Old Town that had bars and cafes. Customers were noisy all night and well up to 02:00h ; they even roared a motorbike up and down the lane in the early hours of the morning. Add to that a crinkly, squeaky mattress cover (plastic protector) and noisy pillows, and we had to endure sounds like cheeps and stifled farts (the mattress, honest!) every time we moved a muscle. The bathroom mirror was two big panels of glass, with the horizontal join exactly in the middle of our faces! The person who fitted it didn't consider the user; they decided they'd make each mirror panel the exact depth of the wall covering panels. WHY? Only the central part of the big mirror is ever usable, so why not have a smaller, better-lit mirror with no 'seam' across the viewer's face instead of this ridiculous, huge divided one? Mirror lighting needs to be between the viewer and the mirror. It's difficult with a light elsewhere to put in contact lenses or do makeup, as the light forces one to work in your own shadow. There should have been a shelf inside the shower for shampoo, soap etc. I wonder why so many accommodations overlook this?

Very convenient location. Host called in advance and arranged to meet us in a a convenient place and told us a lot about the town
Ok if you dont' want to go to bed early (we didn't) as the bars/restaurants in the street downstairs were a bit noisy
