We had such a great time at the Sister's Lakes! Property was as advertised. Owner was prompt with an queries.

We recently stayed at Turtle Cove with friends. The common space is nice and open and I liked the French doors that opened to the large deck. It was nice being on the canal and there is a pier available if you bring or rent a boat. The living room furniture was comfortable and the tv had access to streaming apps like Netflix. The internet connection was good. Bringing our own sheets was annoying, but we were told ahead of time. Don’t forget to bring blankets. Our families enjoyed our stay, but there are some things to note about the property. There is no dishwasher so we ended up using paper plates and plastic utensils for convenience. Some foil and ziplock baggies would have been convenient for food storage. The bedrooms were small and as pictured, but there was an odor that persisted in all of them. I am not sure if it came from the air conditioner units or the carpet, but the smell was musty and creeped onto some of our clothes. Another thing to note is the water damage to the kitchen floor. As soon as you walk in there is a rug over a large soft spot In the kitchen. It didn’t really effect us too much, but it is definitely significant enough to be annoying and a bit alarming. I wonder if there is other water damage that is causing the odor in the bedrooms. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Magician lake and would rent again because it’s conveniently down the street from our friends. Hilda was quick to answer if we had any questions.

We had a wonderful stay at Turtle Cove and on Magician lake! The house was perfect for our two families. Hilda was lovely and accommodating as always! The property is beautiful and we have so much fun hanging out in the yard and on the lake. We always enjoy our stay here! We will be back next year!

Good location on the channel with boat dock. I liked having the pontoon delivered there for us. Hostess knew we were getting in late and turned the lights on for us which was very welcoming. I woukd stay here again!

Always enjoy spending time on Magician Lake. It's beautiful and never over crowded. We always rent the pontoon boat to go on sandbar or fishing. Love to sit by the bonfire at night.

Great location on the channel which the kids enjoyed playing in. Docks were a bit in need of repair. A/C units worked great to cool the house- but very loud at night. Owner very responsive and friendly. Overall a great weekend getaway for the price.

Great location and cozy backyard
We had a lot of fun visiting Magician lake at Turtle Cove house. The house and property were good overall. Being on the channel protected us from the wind and the backyard felt cozy and relaxing. Camp fire pit was nice and there was a good amount of adirondack chairs to sit on. We kept a boat and a jetski in the channel, but it looked pretty shallow in spots. The house was fairly clean, but there were some active spider webs in the kitchen and one of the air conditioners had a funny smell coming out of it. The owner was very responsive and answered questions quickly.

Peaceful Location
The property is in a nice location. It’s away from the business of the lake and sits in a nice quiet part of the channel. Our only complaint was the musty smell in the cabin. We diffused oils and used candles to cover it up!

Check in time delayed
The property was as portrayed in photos. Owner informed us the day before we were to arrive that the cabin would not be cleaned and ready for us until 3 hours after our reservation check in time. This was quite an inconvenience. The cabin was also very musty smelling. We had to wash everything when we arrived back to our own home. A part of the floor was so soft due to moisture that we feared it might collapse.

We stayed at the cabin while we visited family. Due to a recent storm many trees had fallen, and we had a few technical issues with the property. The management immediately responded to our concerns.

Great stay for getting out of the city
Sister Lake is only 2 hours from Chicago, so it made for a nice, easy long weekend get away. The property was nice and clean. The back yard butted up against an offshoot of the lake, which provided gorgeous views for my morning coffee and reading. The swimming dock was just across the street from the house, making it easy to run back and forth when we wanted food/drinks/bathroom. Really the only complaint my group had was having to bring our own sheets, towels, and paper goods (like toilet paper and paper towels). This may be a holdover from covid, but if not, I’d change this policy. I’ve never been to a house rental that required that and it took so much extra room in the car having to pack those extra items.

Cool location
The location was really awesome. We loved the wildlife in the canal and setup in the back of the house. There are all sorts of turtles, birds and other awesome wildlife right in the back of the house. For fisherman, we caught tons of fish right from the pier on the canal and on the lake(biggest fish caught on the canal. 2 3-4 lb. Bass and an eighteen inch or so northern). I assume we were the 1st guests in awhile, because the house was a bit musty smelling. Besides that, it was an enjoyable stay.
