The location was great
Not very guest-ready.
It wasn’t very clean when we arrived - loads of food debris under the microwave, very dusty.
There’s quite a lot of mould in the shower.
The Wi-Fi is less than average - no router in the apartment so assuming it’s either the shop downstairs Wi-Fi or next door’s?
There’s a plug socket completely pulled off the wall that has stuff plugged into it and switched on - not safe! The heater in the living area doesn’t work, probably because the batteries inside the remote have leaked and solidified.
The bed is basically 2 beds badly joined together but one is higher than the other.
The washing machine was listed as a washer and dryer but is not a dryer.
There’s only 1 bowl so if there’s 2 of you, one needs to have cereal from a Pyrex dish.
Outside table and chairs were covered in dirt and cobwebs, had to completely clean them to use, the chairs however, have no backs so highly uncomfortable to sit in.
Springs have gone in the sofa so not comfortable either.

Perfect location, everything what you may need is in the apartment, very comfy bed, nice and tidy.
It was a bit confusing how to get to the appointment and the Sykes stuff is more like a bot you can't ask for much help. But except that everything was perfect.

Having booked this deal before reading any of the reviews, I worried for some time about what was going to greet me.
Previous occupants seemed unhappy at most issues including cleanliness and noise.
Didn't get off to the best of starts when I was unable to locate the key lock, I could only find old, disused ones and at this point I thought I'd be sleeping rough and I'd been ripped off.
The shop underneath the flat was unused and from the outside the flat looked like it might not have been used in quite some time.
The shop across the road advised me where the key lock was and I entered the flat simply enough once I had keys
Up the stairs, which really needs decorating and into the flat and all my worries disappeared instantly as a very nice, spacious flat came into view.
OK, if you go around with a microscope, there could be improvement but hey, it's a bed and bathroom for your holiday. The carpet is a little stained in places, the bathroom shower and paintwork could do with refreshing but if you're fussy, pay more.
The split bed was huge but the join was awkward at times.

It's a small, pleasant, modern apartment with an outside terrace. Very comfortable and in a fabulous position for accessing train/bus station shops and restaurants and within a stones throw of the sea.
I'm getting on a bit and found the stairs up to the flat a challenge. The lock to the flat door is difficult to operate. Due to the convenient location of being near to restaurants and pubs, the flat was very noisy on the Saturday night making sleeping almost impossible. As the weather was warm, noise outside means I could not have a window open.so had to buy a fan as there is no air conditioning in the flat.

The flat was located central to all amenities, it was spacious, clean and comfortable. Wreally didn't want to leave .
As the flat was central it was on the main road for all outbound traffic and passers by and with the bedroom being in the front if the property it was a little noisy at night.

EXCELLENT location to train station, groceries, pubs, laundry, bus depot/hub and central location for day trips.
The front entrance is shocking and rundow but secure. The key lock box relies on the code so essential to have it ready.

The location. With regard to accessibility to train station shops, beach front etc, it was perfect.
I liked that the flat has an outside terrace space.
The location .The noise level overnight was unbearable. The convenient location means the property is on a very busy one way system that is busy with traffic during the day and large delivery lorries at night. With several local restaurants, the nighttime revellers were also very loud. The nights were warm and I wanted to open windows but was unable to because of the noise. I had to buy earplugs just to get any sleep! The property needs triple glazing and air conditioning, or a least, a fan.
The terrace needs cleaning of moss. A good jet wash would help. Also, a few plants - not just the weeds that grow up through the decking.
Although superficially clean, the whole flat needs a deep clean. The window frames were filthy, the area behind the bed is a centimetre thick with dirt. The shower has mould around the base of the screen. The mattress, although comfortable, is very stained and I had to quickly replace the cushion on the sofa as I did not want to look at thd dirt hiding there and chose not to sit on that sofa.
Finally, a proper entry system would be helpful. A supermarket was unable to deliver as it could not find the flat as there are no numbers and even if he had found me, the driver had no way to alert me of his presence as there is no door bell. I ended up having an argument with the supermarket for not delivering.

Flat was spacious, acceptably clean and well equipped. Central location to town and harbour which of course makes it noisy.
The flat DOES NOT HAVE PARKING. This is important to note even though it suggests parking is available. The confirmation email, received a few days before travel regarding picking up the keys states that parking is on a first come basis in the roads behind the property. There was a constant damp mildewy smell that only improved slightly by leaving the windows open all day. Had to shut at night as it is situated on a very busy road. Everything we brought back with us retained the smell but you do start to get a bit nose blind by the end of the week. Take spare towels if you are booking for a week as you only get one each.

Loved the area, Penzance. The flat was in a very convenient place to walk round the town, but also to travel about and see other tourist spots.
Nothing to dislike. Apartment was central and ideal for our needs.

The location was fantastic. It was right in the middle of Penzance and very close to my auntie who we were visiting. It was just what we wanted. The bathroom and kitchen were nice and clean and there were loads of facilities. I didn’t find the WiFi code until the last day so I can’t comment on that. The key was easy to get and put back too. The garden was fine for the short amount of time we spent in there.
The bedroom and all cupboards smelled musty which had transferred onto some of my belongings when we got back (even though I didn’t use the cupboards because of the smell). When I stripped the bed on the last day, I found a blood stain (or what looked like one) on the pillow but thankfully we had taken our own. It would have been better if there was a booklet of information on how to use things like the heating and wifi and also what to do on the last day regarding bins. I wasn’t sure where to put the rubbish. It was quite cold with it not having central heating.

The flat itself is very comfortable and the bed lovely. Kitchen all fine. Everything very clean. No issues with the flat itself.
The picture above of the outside patio area gives a very false impression and was obviously taken when first built. It does not look inviting like that, it is very dirty, unswept and the table has been painted but is now peeling and dirty. You would not want to spend any time out there whatsoever.
The only other thing was the internet. TERRIBLE signal, in fact less than one bar and intermittent to the point it is useless. With the mobile signal being a bit poor in the area you were out if touch if you needed to be in contact with people.

Location was good two minute walk to train and bus station so easy to travel round, close to the sea and coastal walks. Nice places to eat and drink nearby, The Crown is a very friendly local pub just off the main street. Cider is good there too. Lots of shops independent as well as national stores. Ali Baba’s take away is across the road for those who enjoy pizza, kebab, fried chicken etc.
The cleanliness of the flat, it was clean refurbished to a good standard bed was really comply. But the bathroom needed a thorough clean, black mould round parts of the shower don’t think the drainage plug had ever been cleaned and the anti slip mat was disgusting so put it outside till we left. The sink tap and overflow also needed a good clean. Toilet was clean though. The oven also needed a clean and there were dirty trays left in there. There was a fair amount of traffic noise due to being on a main road, which could bother some people. The outside garden bench could also do with some TLC. There are about 24 steps to get up to the flat so may not be suitable for everyone.

The apartment was a great size and the bedroom was massive! We didn’t use the cooking facilities but it was very handy to have the kitchen. We also appreciated the separate living/sleeping space, great to chill out on a longer stay. The location was perfect, really close to everything we needed and Penzance was a good base to explore south and west Cornwall.
It’s very noisy in the bedroom as it’s on a busy main road and you can hear traffic and passers by on the street below, although you do get used to it. The WiFi is really slow and the 4G signal isn’t great either, it works better outside the apartment. We didn’t end up using the outdoor space as a seagull was there whenever we were in! Looks like someone has fed it at some point and now it thinks everyone will. Not much can be done about that I know! We ignored it.

Nothing, this is not a good place to stay at all
There was an overwhelming smell of a combination of air fresheners and we soon found out why- it was to mask the odour of damp. We didn’t unpack as the smell permeated our belongings. We left after one night. The location is grim, shabby, dirty and a depressing neighbourhood.

There seems to be a lack of communication between Sykes company and owners. My holiday experience was not the best because of the issues I encountered. I did email at beginning as it seemed owner needed 48hrs notice for things. When I contacted Sykes, I was shocked to learn that they wanted me to speak directly to owner! I was disappointed that their team couldn’t contact the owner to help resolve this as they had picked up the initial message (ideally they would have contacted owner and asked him to call me not the other way around), also their team is super slow responding to emails - furthermore, we were on holidays, yet I had to be wasting time and being worried about calling owner to resolve an issue. An issue that I should have not encountered from the beginning, we believe that cleaning and disinfection is an important and basic provision for this services, especially more in the context of a pandemic! I felt very let down by Sykes company, the owner was helpful, he did come to inspect, but still we had to clean and disinfect the property on arrival and the worried about cleanliness on everything. Due to Sykes not being responsive it took longer to resolve and we spent days feeling uncomfortable on a place that wasn’t clean to a good standard ! So very disappointed and did not had the best experience

The property had everything we needed. A real home from home. We had to work whilst there and found the space and the WiFi fine for this. Location was perfect for our leisure time. The host was friendly and helpful and responded to our enquiries promptly. Would highly recommend

The apartment was in a good place, the town was easily accessible and it was the right side of town to get out to visit other places.
The WiFi was very hit and miss. I took work down to do but it was virtually impossible to keep the connection.
