What a magical place! The open floorplan and huge windows overlooking the ocean of this home made for gorgeous mornings. At night, the views of the huge moon were unobstructed - what a joy to spend time on the deck listening to the sounds of waves crashing on the rocks at any time of the day or night. The two first-floor bedrooms are spacious. The two upstairs bedrooms in the loft are much smaller, but all of the rooms have windows and comfortable bedding. The kitchen is simple, but the hosts make sure you have everything you need: Mr. Coffee coffee maker, sharp knives, cutting boards and some essential meal prep staples (salt, pepper, olive oil). WiFi was excellent, but phone service is spotty. There are fans to keep the air circulating - but the windows are ample (and they open!) so it was always comfortable. The views are magnificent, truly. A small beach is easily walkable, the island paths are fun to explore ... we had a postcard-perfect stay. This house is everything I love about summer in Maine.

Fifth time I think here. Always amazing. Can’t beat the experience. Kitchen is adequately stocked but if you expect to need anything out of the standard (eg, cheese grater, garlic press) suggest you bring. Not a critique, just worth being aware of. Space is great. Beds are comfortable. Constant ocean sounds are peaceful. And you might catch sight of an eagle or a seal.

As usual, we had a wonderful stay at this amazing location. The ocean views cannot be beat and close to three sandy beaches. Thanks for renting to us again this year!!

Beds were clean and comfortable. Went to the ocean beach everyday, sunny and mid 80's. Never wanted to leave We have always loved Indian point.

Lovely property for adults, families and friends.
Thank you so much Carl and Nancy.

The cabin offered a great September late summer stay. The design and location of this property is really unique with direct access to the cliffs for a private morning yoga session or a short walk to the beach. The check was seamless and everything one needs for a weeks stay available in the cabin. All in all a wonderful experience!

I have been coming to Indian Point for more than 16 years and the Beal Cottage is the best house and location on The Loop. Comfortable, cozy, and updated. Great views of the ocean and beaches and fantastic deck to spend the afternoon reading or just watching the boats go by. I will be back next year!

Great time watching the wildlife. Spectacular view and cottage. Very quiet and peaceful. Looking forward to next year!

Can't get enough
The worst part of staying at this house in Georgetown is the day you have to pack up and leave. Till next year!

The house was surrounded on two sides by the ocean. It felt like being on a cruise ship. There was a huge fireplace and enough wood, which was good, since the cottage has no heat and nights can be cool in September/October. We loved our stay.

The front entrance opens into an unfinished area and bedroom in place; this was a surprise given that no communication had been made about work in progress (which has evidently been in progress for 2 years). It wasn't a needed area, but would have been nice to know about. The location of the house is what "sells" it: both being right on the water AND importantly, access to Indian Point Association beaches. It is remote (30 min. to the closest pharmacy & grocery) and the lighting was not the best (we never figured out how to get the light over the dining room table on).

This is a spectacular spot. You are right on the water and our first night we enjoyed a beautiful rainbow. The house is being updated. The bathroom is brand new. The big main room is so comfortable and has views of the ocean. Our family had a great stay.

Location location location!
Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. We have come to love the area and this house did not disappoint. Clean/ easy/ comfortable! I would recommend adding a table to the deck so that dinner can be had out there- we spent a majority of our time on the deck watching wildlife. We would rent again for sure!

Wonderful gem
So far we have resisted telling any of our friends where this amazing little house was, because we don't want to share it with them. We don't want to have to compete with them in the future. We'll probably relent in the end. But they will owe us. Big time. We will be back to this amazing house. Loved every minute.

Exactly what we wanted
This cottage was exactly what we were looking for. It’s location on the rocks where we could see and hear the ocean was perfect. The cottage itself is somewhat rustic which, is what we hoped for and is 10 minutes away from a store with excellent steamed lobsters and a short order kitchen. It’s only 20 minutes from Bath which has larger grocery stores and restaurants. The owner supplied firewood and we totally enjoyed the fireplace on chilly nights. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who truly wants a taste of the coast of Maine.

Gorgeous Gorgeous Location!!! Love Indian Point!!!
Love our time there. The camp style cottage works fine for a vacation. Some updates are being done which add to the charm. Would love to see it in a few years after all the updates are completed.

Maine Stay
We’ve been here many times. A wonderful location on a bluff looking out at the ocean.

Owner was great - lots of communication. HOME AWAY was the worst bureaucracy in the world. Not hel
Photos and web page needs dramatic update!! Owner should caution renters about "black fly season." It is a myth that lobstermen are all over the place selling lobster; lobster was cheaper in Boston!! Owners fans saved our life !!! Swimming beach is NOT a 5 minute walk!! It is a short drive and a 5 minute walk. Views and crashing wave waters were the best in the world!! In summer of 2019 building was under construction - not sure of new additions. If the ant problem is cleaned up, we would go back. It took 30 days to get our $700 back...no explanation.

Great week/amazing location!!!!
We had a wonderful week at the A-frame. Very unique, rustic cottage with spectacular views. Indian Point never disappoints and this cottage has some of the best views on the Point. The waves crashing over the rocks right off the deck is something to see. All the rooms have a view and you see a lot. Beach, birds, sailboats, fishing boats, seals and one day we saw dolphins from the living room window. Several beaches to visit and rocks to climb. The owner has made many improvements since we last rented two years ago—new bath, nice new stairs to loft and new slider door to deck. There is also an additional room that is under construction off the back of the cottage. Can’t wait to return! One thing to be aware of—if you plan to cook be sure to bring some supplies. We’ve rented several places at IP and they can vary in what is supplied for utensils and cooking. There were not a lot of spices or bakeware on hand here (note: bring a pie pan if you plan to bake a pie with the wild blueberries for sale from the farm stand on the way in). I suggest bringing what you might need beyond your basic pots and pans and salt and pepper. Overall, we loved it—five stars and we look forward to coming back!

Perfect Maine coast experience!
Ocean views and sounds galore! Private association beaches within a short walking distance. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay. The extra linen service is necessary if you are flying in and do not want to hassle with supplying your own. Be sure to stop at a grocery market in Bath to stock up before you head down, you will not want to leave! We did have to supply our own toilet paper, paper towels, and seasonings which you can find at the Georgetown Market as well, ( limited grocery selections). We had a wonderful stay!

Amazing location!
Stunning views! My family loved being here because it is all about the view. The owner is friendly and answers questions quickly. The A-frame has a rustic cabin feel with most everything already there. Great Fireplace! Bring a comforter in Sept and Oct, the ones there will not be enough. We stayed there one week. The main areas are neat and orderly but out of the way places and corners could use more cleaning. The refrigerator and oven were very clean. The curtains are full of water stains and look bad but they do help block out the sun when needed. Very cool, moist air made drying clothes on the clothes line impossible. The new gas grill worked awesome! Overall, we had a very nice stay and wished we had stayed two weeks instead of one.

Perfect
Best view in Maine overlooking rocky coast and a quick walk to numerous beaches, some sandy, some rocky, and some covered with tumbled rocks and interesting shells. The house itself was perfect for four adults and two kids with an efficient kitchen, roomy bedrooms, large great room, and excellent shower. Can't beat the view from the deck. We saw wild dolphins almost every day and saw a seal one morning. On our daily walks we almost always spotted deer. The IPA neighborhood is friendly and very well maintained. Despite being part of an association, the way the house is placed feels very private. Already booked again for next year for a week and seriously considering booking for a second week.

Cottasge was not what we expected
We left early and ended up at a different place on the coast as the cottage was not what we expected. I was asked by the owner if everything was OK. My response was:
Hi Carl,
Nothing came up per say. The ocean setting is beautiful. The cottage just was not what we were expecting.
The refrigerator and freezer had such a strong smell of bleach that any food items we put in there absorbed that odor. Even the ice smelled like bleach. The bath towels smelled to me like smoke. The sheets didn't seem to have that odor though. The curtains were covered in water stains. Broken light fixtures, a cracked mirror on the floor, a broken door handle coming in, kitchen trash can lid was broken, stained, dirty carpets...that kind of thing. The oven was unusable for me because it clearly hadn't been cleaned. I was a little put off as well, by the mouse bait blocks randomly around the cottage; too visible for me. They really should be hidden. An extra role of toilet paper would have been nice. I would have brought my own had I known there would be only half a role when we came in and no other paper products there at all. For a week’s stay, I think an extra role of toilet paper and a roll of paper towels should be expected.
I definitely can see that efforts have been made to upgrade some of the furniture and fixtures though and the Wi-Fi was nice in the evening for my daughter. The deck is a nice addition. (or maybe it is just newer)
I can also see, that it was likely a lovely place once upon a time. I am not unfamiliar with waterfront living, so do understand the wear on a beach front home, especially ocean front. Rental properties can be tricky. For me, cleanliness and properly working/ functional fixtures and such, are key. I don't mind older houses, but they should not be in disrepair and they have to be clean.
Please do not take my comments personally. They are truly meant as constructive comments. While it is an amazing location, I will not be returning. Once you have verified the cottage is in as rented condition there will be no need to hold on to the security deposit for next year, but thank you for the offer.
Sincerely,
Sarah
The owner never responded to the above email. I did receive my deposit shortly after the last day I was supposed to have been there.

Our recent stay at the cottage was wonderful!
This was our first visit to Maine. We could not have had a better experience all around. The owners were very helpful with pre- arrival questions, the house was ready and in perfect condition for our stay. The area is beautiful, secluded and quiet.

The view says it all.
A quaint rustic cottage perched on a rocky slope with beautiful ocean views, it was a great stay here. Very peaceful and relaxing and the near by beaches were great. The best place though was just sitting on the cottage deck and doing nothing...just enjoying the view. It was well worth the drive from Peterborough, Ont.

Wonderful stay!
We had a lovely time here. We are a couple, husband and wife, and this was perfect size for us even though the house can easily sleep and accommodate more people.
The deck is gorgeous and we spent hours sitting rocking looking at the ocean.
We had a day of rain and got to experience a rough tide with incredible waves crashing against the rocks through the windows.
House is lovely inside, clean, airy and bright. Very efficient and easy to work in the kitchen, which is well stocked.
I had been to the area as a child and loved returning - Reid state park is beautiful but one can also go to multiple other area beaches and also take advantage of dining and shopping in Bath a short drive away.
This is my favorite area in Maine. Carl was great to deal with, fast communication, responsive to anything. Very happy overall. We have a lot of experience renting houses and can speak from experience.

Very Hard To Leave!
We stayed here the second week in October and it was spectacular! It was so quiet and peaceful this time of year. The vast ocean views from every room are so beautiful! We enjoyed the vivid sunrises each morning, watching the moon rise each evening, exploring the rocks and tidal pools around the house and beach, relaxing by the fire in the evenings, and listening to the waves crash continually. Even on a rainy day we weren't upset at all. The views at this place are something special, as we found ourselves staring out the windows to watch the huge swells crash into the rocks below. The house was kept clean and had all the amenities we wanted including plenty of fans for warm weather and a wood stove for the cold fall nights. The main bedroom was comfortable with magnificent views, which we can't stress enough. There are lots of little knick knacks around the house that add to the overall character. We also loved visiting Reid State Park (15 min drive), Acadia national park for the day (little over 3 hr drive), and Bath, ME for some good food and small shops (25 min drive). When the last day of our vacation arrived and the car was packed up, it was very sad to leave this home.

What a wonderful week!
We spent an amazing week at the end of the summer at the Beal Cottage. It is the perfect retreat--a spot to relax and enjoy the pristine beauty of this part of Maine. The cottage has everything you need and the setting is absolutely magnificent. You can make a day of just reading and relaxing on the deck, or you can take a walk to the beach or to Reid State Park for swimming. Indian Point is a very special place and now we feel like we have experienced a little slice of it that we hope to return to every summer.
