A great time!
We had a great time! Properly was in perfect proximity to the beach and after we learned the ropes of the 4x4 beach driving, we loved it. We had considered driving AWD vehicles and were relieved we decided to rent 4x4. For anyone flying into Norwalk we rented a Jeep Wrangler from Marquis off TURO and would 100% recommend. I was looking to do something different and I got it.
The house was a good location.As on prior places we have stayed it is going to be a lil tuff on the elderly ones as far as steps.We are used to that.Coming in on peak high tide was a complete eye opener for the first time , driving 8 miles on the beach.Next day I was good to go.House was cool, Horses were cool and the weather was nice.You will need to make very good preparations unless you want to travel back to town everyday.Plenty of sunscreen and bug spray and you might have to remove a pile of horse$&@@“:.Just saying.Would go back🤘

This vacation house was everything we were looking for this year. We had easy access to the beach a nice pool to relax in and a hot tub for the evenings. The 3rd floor was a great gathering spot for everyone and fit us all when it was time to eat.
We realized a few days into the trip that the drying wasn’t drying the towels/clothes very fast and within 2 days the super nice pool/handy man came with a brand new dryer.

Great family trip
This vacation house was everything we were looking for this year. We had easy access to the beach a nice pool to relax in and a hot tub for the evenings. The 3rd floor was a great gathering spot for everyone and fit us all when it was time to eat.

Beach
Our family ranged in age from 63 to 6 months. 4 adult couples and 4 kids. Starting with the con’s: Not many though. The house has no gas grill. Problem is the charcoal grill is 3 floors down. So inconvenient. Pots n pans in kitchen we’re from 1980’s!!! Bring a sauté pan cuz your eggs are gonna stick! Now the pro’s: house is roomy and tons of bathrooms. Even one outside! Pools were great and hot tub was a nice one. Best part was the 2 second ride to beach! Or 5 min walk to beach. Ice at the fire station was a blessing. Also, we went into town but airing tires up and down is not fun. Especially when the lines are long!!!

Post Covid Family Escape
Our experience at this home was nothing short of wonderful. We enjoyed every minute at this property. The beach is a short walk over a hill away everything worked very well around the house. The only challenge with this property is driving to it and driving away from it. Driving on the beach and up the sand dune hill can be a bit challenging which should only be done at low tide! Also, leaving the property was a particular challenge as one has to not only deal with driving on sand they also have to leave the property and go home!

Beautiful property in an ideal location
This was the perfect pandemic getaway for our family. The property was even better than it appeared in the listing and was just a short walk from the beach. The sunroom, pool, and hot tub made our stay absolutely perfect. The property manager was very responsive to our questions and concerns. We will definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity.

Despite the iffy weather, our stay in the OBX was wonderful. The area is more secluded than the southern part. Easy beach access, very near recycling plant and park. Wild Horses show up regularly. House is beautifully decorated and well kept. Property Manager Laura very attentive to your needs. Pool and hot tub maintained during the week. I highly recommend the rental of this property. Unfortunately due to COVID, we did not travel into town. On our way up stopped at Dockside Seafood- they have delicious crab legs and of course the Fudge Factory. We Recommend both.

1st time on 4x4 beach
Have been coming to OBX all of my life but had never stayed farther north than Duck so was curious/nervous to how staying on the 4x4 beach would be. The convenience of not having to unpack my truck all week was great. Just wake up, drive 200 yds and relax. The house was great - clean and had plenty of space. Property managers were quick with responses to my questions before we came down and I didn’t need them at all during the week. Great trip!!

Beautiful holiday house
Our family of 5 and another family of 4 had an amazing holiday at Kaptain’s Treasure. The house is beautifully decorated and laid out very well. We had 4 teenagers and a tween with us. Everyone had enough space to have alone time when they wanted it. We were all able to hang out and play games or watch movies in comfort. The pool was a great addition on our lazy mornings when we didn’t want to rush to the beach. The proximity to beach from the house was ideal. We could walk down easily and the view from the top floor was lovely. We had a great two weeks at Kaptian’s Treasure and look forward to a return trip.

Kaptain's Treasure - perfect location to the beach, top floor living with spectacular views from inside and full deck, additional full enclosed sun room for added living space, and was beautifully decorated too. Kitchen was fully equipped, game room was perfect with pool table, 2nd fridge and more. Bedrooms were spacious, bathrooms galore even an outside half bath, and an outside shower for when you are at the pool & hot tub. Horses were also around quite often. This was a great house in a perfect location!

Checked in with no issues and had no issues through our entire stay! Walked to the beach several times, enjoyed tithe pool and hot tub, played a lot of pool! Enjoying the large kitchen as well. We were lucky enough to see many horses, deer, rabbits and even coyotes! I can’t speak highly enough of Corova Cottages.

Great place, great location
We enjoyed our first rental experience in the Outer Banks. Unique location 7 miles drive on the beach to the house. House was in great condition with all the amenities needed for a great stay. Wild horses in the yard was a definite plus. Would highly recommend the rental.

The house was perfect. Great location and we were fortunate to see horses every day - in our yard, the neighbors yards, on the beach. The kids loved it! Great views and comfortable layout perfect for a larger family. We never felt like we were on top of each other. We would absolutely recommend this property to friends.
The blinds in the sun room did not open and should be repaired or replaced to allow for the beautiful view. I would also recommend replacing some of the plastic chairs around the pool area as many were broken.

We absolutely loved our family vacation at Kaptain’s Treasure. The home was laid out perfectly and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to bake and cook. Our favorite room was the sun room where you could watch the sun rise and set from the same seat. Horses everywhere. And had a fun time crabbing and fishing and visited the fire station for an ice cream treat. Location is great with beautiful views from the porch. Location was great. House was very dirty when we arrived. House is in milde disrepair and does need some care. Sliding glass door was not shutting and weather stripping was coming off. Some window screens were broken. Pool was not vacuumed and had a lot of sand in it. Pool deck area was covered with cigarette butts. Chairs were broken around the pool deck.

The overall experience was positive. The location is nice, the views are great and the property management people were great. The only complaint from everyone who stayed in the house with us was the beds are terrible. Extremely uncomfortable beds and the worst sleep I've ever had in a vacation. The condition of the house was ok, not dirty but not immaculate. There were beer cans in the sink in the pool area when we arrived and the pool hadn't been cleaned. There were leaves floating and sand in the bottom but I guess that can be expected for the location. The interior of the house was decent. Some paint chipping off the ceiling in the basement, found food crumbs under the furniture in the living room so I would suggest the cleaners check under there when cleaning. The WiFi is spotty and weak . Overall I give it a 7/10.
