The place and the view and the overall hause

This was quite an unexpected experience, but we enjoyed it a lot. It's an entire house that you rent including a terrace a little yard, and a concrete cellar. Different from many other vacation rentals, this place had a lot of charm: it is rather old (but it looks like it's in the process of being renovated) which reminded us of our grandparents house - there's even a black and white photograph of the rear door with a woman sitting there that probably once lived here. Inside, there's quite some stuff (more than the essentials you would need in a vacation rental). We assumed it's from the owner that might have inherited the house and comes here regularly during vacation (this was our impression). All in all, we felt very much at home and enjoyed cooking our own food in the spacious kitchen. Also, being able to have a great view onto the ocean from almost all windows was exceptional. We stayed over Easter so the yard was perfect for some egg hunting. Also, we requested an early check-in and they made the place available for us from 10am!

The description said that there would be two bathrooms (one of the reasons why we chose the house). In reality there is only one bathroom (shower, toilet, sink). We eventually found an extra shower in the concrete basement, but I wouldn't call it a bathroom (if you really desperately need a second shower, it can get the job done I guess - otherwise, you wouldn't even go down to the old concrete cellar). Another small issue is that the stairs that lead up to the bedrooms are very steep. Going up is not a problem, but coming down might be dangerous if you don't pay attention (going backwards like you'd do on a ladder is the safest option). This is especially important at night in case you need to use the toilet, which is located on the ground floor. Oh - and as the description sais: there's no internet. Apparently you can rent a router from their office, but we didn't bother and enjoyed being offline during our stay.
