We will be back
We stayed in this apartment for 4 weeks in November 2018. Bottom line - when we go back to Curacao we will try and stay here. There is lots to recommend it: very well stocked kitchen, beautiful view, property is well maintained, the complex is quiet, the location is close to good restaurants (Tabooshh!, Kyoto) and a reasonably good grocery store in close proximity. The only things that could have been better for us were if the neighbourhood was suitable for walking - there aren't any sidewalks and in some places there is very little room to get off the road in the face of light oncoming traffic. A beach suitable for swimming would have been a bonus, but I don't know that we would have used it much given that the pool is excellent. Bert (property manager) was outstanding - the couple of tiny issues we had were responded to immediately and with good humour. Shades on the balcony would have helped deal with heat brought on by the late afternoon sun. As it was, we simply closed the doors and turned on the A/C for a couple of hours. Better cushions on the furniture on the balcony would have made it more comfortable. But these are tiny issues relative the comfort of the apartment. The washing machine was great for our long stay. Beach towels are plentiful. We had 4 people for 2 weeks and didn't find it cramped at all. You will need a car and the traffic during rush hour is insane. From 6:30 - 8:30 am, 12:00 - 1:30 pm and 3:30 - 6:30 pm it is stop and go along Caracasbaaiweg. We highly recommend this apartment.

Enjoyed the place
Bert and his wife were lovely people and helpful. Everything you needed was in the place. Nice view and close to Jan Thiel beach and shopping area. Maps.ME is a must if you want to get around. We would stay there again. Thanks for an enjoyable stay! Mark Woodman

Beachfront with a great pool
This was a clean and modern condo with a beautiful view, steps from the pool and bay. The bay is not for swimming, but the pool took care of that and there are beaches for swimming close be (drive). The is also a great grocery store nearby too, fun and funky restaurants to explore too (by car). The kitchen is fully equipped with the exception of a regular oven. The 2nd bathroom is broken into toilet and sink on one side of the hallway and shower and sink on the other side of the hallway outside the 2nd bedroom. It is small for four to relax indoors at night. There is a sofa with a chaise lounge and four bar stools at the counter. At dawn and all night the mosquitoes were fierce. The lanai is the living space, it was excellent, table for dining with 5 chairs and a sofa with two 'easy' chairs and coffee table along with a small bistro table. Everything was as described and neat and clean. The 'caretaker' Bert was beyond exceptional, very kind, attentive and considerate. He went well out of his way to accommodate everything we desired. Thank you for a great holiday in Curaçao!

Home With a View and What a View!!
The agent met us at the entrance to Apt.#5c and told us to go inside. The balcony doors stood wide open and we were met by a spectacular view of a beautiful cove filled with small boats and of course, the view of our private beach and pool. Our seventeen year old son was rendered speechless and this is no mean feat.
The apartment is beautiful, light and airy, with every modern convenience one could wish for. The balcony, where we spent most of our time, is heaven. In the morning, drinking our coffee and watching the wildlife all around us waking up to another glorious day was always a great start to our day. The iguanas and geckos, the humming birds and bald eyed pigeons, became our neighbours and we looked out for them every day of our stay. In the evening, we sat on the balcony watching the sun disappear whilst drinking a cocktail before going out to dinner.
The grounds of La Maya are beautifully kept. It was always a treat to go for a swim in the pool in the morning and to relax there in the late afternoon, having returned from one of our trips.
This was our first trip to Curacao and I have to say that our stay at Apartment 5c has spoiled us for any future stays on the island. We really did find the most amazing home from home there and if we do return to Curacao, we will most certainly be contacting Rael again.

Peaceful
We stayed 4 nights at You & Sea Bonaire and we had the most peaceful and enjoyable stay. Gian and Semona were very helpful with picking us up at the airport, arranged for our rental car, and giving us tips to visit interesting places in Bonaire. The Apartment was clean and beautiful just as the pictures show. It has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The apartment is convenient to multiple super markets, restaurants, downtown, snorkeling/diving places. We definitely would love to come back.

Definately NOT on the beach.
While the property management is fantastic and did all it could to fix the numerous issues that arose, the unit is definitely not what we expected. First of all it took almost an hour taxi ride for the airport to get there so you MUST HAVE YOUR OWN TRANSPORTATION. The unit was well build and relatively clean and modern but many things did not work (but were going to be fixed shortly). Without the AC operating it was unbearable to even sit in the living room and sleep at night. Since there is a surcharge for electric usage above a minimum allowed each day we were warned we would have to pay more if we used it to cool the place. The grounds were nicely maintained, the pool clean and in good condition but the waterfront was no where to swim as the undergrowth started 5 feet from shore and unless you had water shoes you could not enter. We were the only N. Americans there and were told by other owners to "turn off our I-phone music because they had "rules saying music could not be played at the pool". We left the property most days to find public and private beaches that were more then one hour away from the unit. Definitely not what we expected.

Superb choice for relaxation and comforts
What a fabulous place this property is in Curacao! My friend Jill and I adored the view from the balcony, the well-appointed kitchen, the presence of fans and AC in the bedrooms, the fold-open doors to the balcony from the kitchen and living room area when we weren’t using the AC in that area, the size and serenity of the pool, the quiet of the property--wow! I especially liked the espresso machine complete with frothing pitcher and used it daily with the ground espresso beans I had brought from home since I knew about that machine. Due to the kitchen accessories (from good knives to cutting boards to cheese slicers, to cooking and serving utensils, to pots and pans and plastic containers for leftovers), preparing breakfast and dinner to enjoy on the balcony was a breeze for these two women in their early 60s looking for a relaxing vacation. The balcony and pool and private beach were all havens to return to after days out exploring the island, whether the Jewish Synagogue in town or the lovely La Lagun beach or the hike to the top of Christoffel Mountain! (Yes, we both made it to the top!) We relaxed, drinks in hand, gazing out at the lovely view. One day, from the pool, we were able even to spy The Jonalisa returning from its all-day trip to Klein Curacao and its mast when docked to whet anticipation of our scheduled trip. We know our husbands would very much enjoy being at this place if we were to return with them next time.
The great local team at Holiday Rentals is terrific, too. When I wrote them to inquire about a place to shop after our late arrival for breakfast items the next morning, we were sent a shopping form to fill out so that we would have desired items in the refrigerator upon our arrival for 20% of the total bill. Despite the late arrival and early departure, they handled our check-in and check-out promptly and professionally, with kindness and humor. They responded to emails or calls swiftly. The owners also were easy to contact and quick to respond when we had questions.
With a car, the location is 5-10 minutes away from some fine restaurants in the Spanish Water area and just off the nearby main road (Carascasbaaiweg) 5 minutes away from the excellent and unique restaurant Equus. We were both extremely pleased with our rental of 5C at La Maya Resort. If you're seeking a tranquil setting within a gated community, I'm sure you will enjoy this property immensely if you are fortunate enough to book it for your vacation.

WONDERFUL STAY
We are 3 girls who spent about 10 days at this property. It's a quite, clean and a safe environment, we all slept very comfortably (good thing is that there is air conditioning, quite important!).
The house itself was awesome, plenty of space, modern kitchen. We loved the balcony!! We had some good dinners outside with stunning sunset! Also the pool was awesome!
We all loved it there and highly recommend this house.

Beautiful, quiet and unique!
Four of us spent 10 days here. It was relaxing and wonderful. The apartment is great for four people. Spent most of our time in the apartment on the wonderful balcony over looking the pool and Spanish Waters.
*** Note:You need to spray for mosquitoes in the evening and close the doors to the balcony to keep them outside.
You do need to rent a car to see the island which is also awesome. We enjoyed several restaurants. The beaches are spectacular. The weather is consistently warm. It was a very different vacation, and I would certainly go again!

What a stunning place to relax!
The property is really the best place to come home after daily island trips to enjoy the sundown spectacle at the beach with a nice glas of wine in your hand - and review the day - before starting to go out for dinner in one of the nice restaurants around Spanish Water. We recommend The Boathouse for quality food while having a nice view over the bay.
Description of this property fits exactly to what you find there. Car is a must have to discover the Island, The Resort is quiet, private and perfect for chill-out. Definitely - we must come back - and stay longer...
