Traditional Swiss chalet-style apartment in a fantastic location for exploring the Jungfrau region. Spotlessly clean and well-equipped. Ursula and Peter were very friendly, inviting hosts and I would definitely look to stay here again in future!

We had a wonderful stay in this cozy villa. Was great for family of 4. Hosts were very helpful with information about local area and travel suggestions. Would definitely stay here again. View from porch is spectacular. Walk to town easy. A good cardio workout going back up but not hard.

My family and I recently stayed at Ursula’s property in Grindelwald. Firstly, the view from the property and the location were just perfect and exceeded our expectations. The view is from an elevated position with breathtaking views of the mountains and everyday we enjoyed watching the paragliders sail in and land in a field below. The property is located in a peaceful area if Grindelwald and is a short walk down hill to the town and a steep walk back up. There is a bus that comes past every hour that can be caught from the town back to a stop near the property as well. Ursula was a fabulous host and ensured that we had everything we needed and even provided us with a welcome gift basket of local food and wine which was just lovely. The property was spotless and was fully equipped with everything we needed. If you are considering a stay in Grindelwald, I would highly recommend Ursula’s place.

The place was small but cozy. The view was amazing!

It is located with wonderful views and just a few mins from the Grindelwald center. The place itself is cute and has wonderful views from the living room of the eiger mountian and also can see the para gliding landing right in front of us. Over all a wonderful experience. The bath tub though is not comfortable for someone tall.

We would love to come back and stay again ! Well appointed apartment with spectacular views. Kind hosts. Removed from the busy touristy main street a great place to stay. One word of caution about a Grindelwald bus service to the home. If you stay out too late, you won’t miss the last bus and have to walk to the home or take a taxi which can be pricey.. The town has a grocery store, which is a wise place to buy food rather than eat at restaurants as food in the restaurants it’s very expensive. The apartment has a well appointed kitchen to make your meals.

We loved staying here! The views from the windows and deck are breathtaking! Ursula and Peter were accommodating to us and friendly. They left us a bottle of wine with cheese and bread which we thought was nice. I recommend this place and would love to come back.

We loved the second floor (3rd floor US) apartment. It had even we needed and Ursula and Peter left us lovely bread, cheese, sausages, and chocolate bars. When we arrived in Grindelwald at 7pm, the last bus had already left and Ursula was kind enough to pick us up in her car. You can walk down the hill to town, but up is quite steep. From the terrace, the view of the mountains above is stunning. All around great place. We were sorry to say goodbye.

The property is perfect in terms of cleanliness and facilities. View from the balcony is spectacular. There is also free bus from the town center to the property which takes only 10 minutes.

Ursula and Peter's cozy chalet felt like paradise. Rental is on the top floor and the views from the balcony are to die for. It had everything from a fully equipped kitchen (including olive oil, rice cooker, paper towels) to furniture on the balcony to enjoy the views of Eiger and the gondolas while sipping tea/ wine. The trail right opposite to the chalet takes you down into Grindelwald town in mere 10 mins. (we were not brave enough to hike uphill - always took bus # 122 which stops right across the property). However, if you want to hike down to the train station then take the trail that starts next to Hotel Bodmi, which is just a 100 feet away from the chalet. That hike is also 10- 15 mins downhill and you avoid walking another 10 mins. thru' the town to reach the train station! Word of caution - if you want to not walk uphill to reach the property be back before 6pm as the last bus leaves from train station around 6:40 pm and there is no Uber or taxi service there! Coop is right next to the train station, so buy your groceries and enjoy your stay. We can't wait to be back already.

I cannot imagine a better place to stay in Grindelwald. Ursula and Peter are wonderful hosts and available to answer questions or provide information. Very clean and well located. We stayed for two weeks and enjoyed every minute of our stay. We had vacationed in the Berner Oberland two times before -- both great trips -- but we wish we had found Ursula and Peter's place before. We will return, hopefully many times.

This was an incredible place to stay. The views are gorgeous and the property owners (Ursula and Peter) are wonderful. Since it is quite a ways up the mountain, I would recommend having a car if you're going to stay here--or you could always just take the bus.

Great experience at Grindelwald and at Ursula and Peter's place. Everything was as described. Comfortable and affordable place. Convenient location with an easy walk down to town...slightly harder walk back up. Very gracious hosts.

Everything about this property was excellent. Hosts were friendly and helpful. The location is convenient to everything we wanted to see and do. Don’t let the simplicity of the apartment fool you. It was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. Great shower. Walking path to town is scenic and an easy walk to town. The bus picks up and drops off right across the street. The perfect Swiss experience. Thanks to Ursula and Peter for making sure we had everything we needed.

Peter and Ursula are very gracious hosts. We were picked up at the train and brought home. There was fresh bread and jam awaiting us. The house was super clean and comfortable. The views from your bedroom are to die for. Also the sheep across the way and the cows coming down the street made you know you were indeed in the Alps. I would recommend this home to anyone and will be back....Wonderful!

we had a long weekend with our children (19 and 21) in grindlewald staying in Ursula and peters apartment in their beautiful chalet. it was delightful with amazing views of the mountains and the Eiger. there was a huge dump of snow on the Saturday which made everything look magical. Ursula came to our rescue with our attempt at a fondue and even provided a bottle of wine. they were amazing hosts and the apartment had lots of extras such as salt and pepper and washing up liquid which as we were only there for a long week end was great. we will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this holiday let.

This was a perfect place for my family and I to stay. It was quiet, the beds were comfortable, and the views unbeatable. The hosts were kind, thoughtful, and generous. Absolutely we would stay there again! Thanks so much for making our Switzerland stay so wonderful!

We loved the quiet but convenient location of Chalet Bärgarve and our second floor apartment was delightful, cosy, warm and well equipped with everything we needed and more, we particularly appreciated the sunny balcony and fabulous views. Our hosts, Ursula and Peter, were very thoughtful and gave us a very warm welcome. Peter kindly transported us from and to the station at the beginning and end of our stay and when we arrived in the apartment we found a basket of local ‘goodies’ awaiting us in the modern kitchen. Ursula advised on local activities and even brought us some Swiss speciality biscuits, Bretzeli, she had made. Altogether, a wonderful stay in Chalet Bärgarve, thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended.

We loved staying at our apartment, with its amazing views of the Eiger and quiet location. The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped for all our needs. Ursula and Peter were very helpful getting us situated on arrival and we had easy access to Grindelwald village and all the hiking we wanted to do. Definitely will return when we get the chance.

Peter and Ursula, property owners live on site and made everything about accessing the property and seeing the area so easy. The chalet has all the modern amenities, including a fully functional kitchen for cooking meals, it boasts 200 tv channels but I promise you won't use the tv when you oil out your window at the most spectacular view of the eiger mountain you are likely to find anywheee. We feel in love with Grindelwald and will be back to stay here soon!!

Peter and Ursula are excellent hosts and have a beautiful home on the hillside above Grindelwald. My daughter and I stayed for 6 nights and there could not have been a better place to stay for a hiking and relaxing-on-the-deck vacation! When we return to Grindelwald we will stay with them again.

They treated us like family the moment they met us. We thank Ursula & Peter for the kind hospitality they showed us. They gave all the information we needed to go to Yungfrau, Lucerne and restaurants in Grindelwald. She even assisted us in making cheese fondue. Next time we are in Switzerland, we have a place to call home.

We had a fantastic time at the chalet. Ursula and Peter were very kind and gracious hosts. The apartment is lovely, with breathtaking views. The nice walkway down to town is just across the street, and the bus stop is a few minutes walk from the apartment so you don't have to walk back up! The apartment had everything we needed. Hopefully we will return someday.

A magical stay in a perfect chalet. The chalet was immaculate, spotless and well-equipped. Peter and Ursula were friendly and knowledgeable hosts. They pointed us in the direction of buying a Jungfraujoch pass which was expensive but worth every franc. The chalet is a 15 minute downhill walk into Grindelwald. The free bus passes helped us on the uphill return journey. The Coop supermarket carries a good range and is open 7 days a week. It proved very useful. We got out and about on buses, trains, chairlifts, boats and rack railways. We went up the Jungfraujoch for half price from Kleine Schiedegg. Fantastic trip to the top of Europe and the views were stunning. We also went up the Mannlichen and on the boats on Lakes Thunder and Brienz. The visit to the Swiss buildings museum at Ballenberg was interesting but it is huge and you need a good length of time to see the buildings brought from all over Switzerland. All in all a great stay with hosts who kept in contact before and during our stay. Thank you.

Our family of 4 took it's first European vacation this June. We got the warmest welcome when we arrived at Ursula and Peter's chalet. This being our third stop on our vacation, it was a great start to our Grindelwald stay. The view was breathtaking. We could see the alps right in front of us along with some waterfalls in the distance. We got a personal tour of the apartment that included a book of the area along with local information , activities and discounts. Very helpful. They had a free bus pass for us to use if we wished. This pass also gives you discounts at local attractions. It's a great location if you want a serene atmosphere or you can walk or drive to downtown where the main shops and restaurants are. We would definitely stay at this vacation rental if we ever get the chance to do a return trip. Thanks Ursula and Peter for the unique experience!!!

Our family of 4, including 2 older children, stayed for 4 nights in early summer and had a marvelous time! Ursula and Peter were very friendly and helpful, especially the book they have put together a book with useful brochures and information on local activities. The chalet has 3 stories with 2 levels for rent while Ursula and Peter live on one level. We were in the top level apartment and it was wonderful: There is plenty of closet and dresser space in the bedrooms. The kitchen is well supplied, including some starter items like sugar, tea, spices. The living space has comfortable chairs, flat screen TV, dining table. And the view from the balcony is amazing! There is only a tub (no shower) in this apartment, but the hand held shower nozzle works fine. Everything was impeccably clean and neat. Town is a short walk down the hill with bus service available back up. We preferred to just walk both ways. Main street was busy with lots of other tourists; we enjoyed the quiet location of the chalet. Unfortunately, we were only there for a short time and were not able to sample many of the outdoor activities available in town or by chairlift connection. But, we would definitely stay with Ursula and Peter again if we returned, and highly recommend their accommodation to other travelers.
