Propre et aéré, ce chalet est situé à côté de l'un des nombreux étangs de Block Island. Il y a une belle terrasse avec table et jchairs patio et étang et vue sur le port. Il y a des lits superposés dans une chambre et un lit queen dans l'autre, un salon / salle à manger / cuisine ouvert, micro-ondes, laveuse / sécheuse empilable, TV directe, Internet. We had a great week in this property. The listing was accurate and we had no issues. Communication was good leading up to our stay. We enjoyed having the pond and turtles out back to relax in the afternoons. You can walk to the farmers market and a few different restaurants. I think the only thing we all thought would have been nice is an outdoor shower and/or a hose outside to wash off sandy feet, chairs and coolers. We would book this property again.

Great spot for a small family. My son loves to fish, so after a day when we had run out of energy, he was ready for round 2 of fishing on the pond.

Even though the weather didn't cooperate, the property and location more than compensated! Country road to the Sound, walking along the beach, exploring downtown and excellent food made for a wonderful weekend.

We loved having dinner on the deck enjoying the island breeze. TV, Wi-Fi, Stove, Washer/Dryer all worked fine. Laid back and casual - perfect place to read a book and just relax.

Our stay here was absolutely amazing. My family and I loved the location and loved how peaceful it was. The house was so clean and communication with Karen was great. The only thing that we were unaware of, was that there was no AC. I am not sure if it was in the listing, but I may have missed it! We would definitely come back.

Lovely cottage on a peaceful lot. Far enough away from downtown to be quiet but not too far. Hostess was very accommodating and we had everything we needed.

The cottage/carriage house is adorable. I do wish there were a few more amenities - ironing board, hairdryer, a few more blankets - it was very chilly our first night! Also, I have been using VRBO for over twenty years, and it’s the first place I’ve ever rented that didn’t supply toilet paper.

This is a conveniently located cottage that meets all your basic needs if you plan to be out and about exploring Block Island! It is exactly as advertise and the property owners, Glenn and Karen, are friendly and responsive. It is stocked with kitchen necessities for cooking and comes with a very nice washing machine/dryer combo, but do plan on bringing all consumables (paper towels, TP, soap, etc), as these are not provided. We booked this cottage for the second week of September when the nights were cool, so sleeping was lovely, but I'm not sure how it would fair if the summer nights were hot, as it is not air conditioned. However, many fans were provided and it gets a lovely breeze. There is a nice deck and a grill is provided if you want to grill out. Views are lovely and the area is quiet.

Great place for two people. Beautiful setting. Great sunsets over the pond. Drinks on the deck. Comfy bed. Excellent hot water. Wi-Fi: poor to none…but that’s not unusual on the
Block. Hosts are super responsive. Highly recommend this place!

Perfect
We loved being on this part of the island and having a peaceful cozy retreat at the end of the day. The setting was beautiful and the cottage was just right for our family of 4. The healthy lawn was great for our boys to run around on. It’s an easy bike ride to town, though the ride to bring out the trash is about 8 miles round trip.

Perfect weekend on Block Island
We had a lovely stay at the Sweet Retreat. The house was perfectly situated on a small pond with wonderful wildlife. There were many birds/ducks/ducklings and we saw deer walking in the pond in the early morning hours. The house was comfortable and clean, and very peaceful. We can't wait to return.

Sweet retreat is an understatement!
My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful time at the carriage house. We felt right at home and loved the private location on the lake. The interior design was beautiful and up to date with everything we needed to enjoy a comfortable stay. Glenn and Karen were both very sweet and prompt in responding to any questions we had. Every morning was like waking up in a dream and it was very hard to leave on our final day! We will definitely be back to stay next time.

The Nor'easter Stay
Well who would expect a Nor'easter in May but then again it's Block Island. Our stay was extended by 2 nights due to no ferry service but if there is a place to be stranded then no better than BI. Having previously rented here before, we looked forward to our return trip. The perfect location and size for our getaway. Karen is awesome to work with and always available for any questions.

Peaceful Getaway
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Carriage House. It was great place to unwind and recharge. The deck was also a great place to have our morning coffee and to watch the sunset. Glenn stopped by the first day to introduce himself and make sure we had settled in okay. Karen was also very responsive to any questions we had prior to our trip. We would highly recommend this rental.

Karen’s cottage is a wonderful secluded location that being Block Island is still close to all you could need! Only complaint was that the WiFi didn’t work which is not a big deal when you’re in such a picturesque place!

The cottage served our needs well. Great location. All items functioned properly, owner was especially helpful with extra blankets during the cool nights. The pond in the backyard was a bonus, we loved seeing the turtles, would recommend bringing an inflatable boat or kayak.

Best place to stay on the island
Donna was so kind when we met her. My husband was recuperating from surgery and this cottage was truly a sweet retreat!! It was beautiful and calming and had a beautiful pond right outside our door to fish. We will definitely come back in the future.

Adorable, peaceful cottage
Our stay was great. The cottage is adorable, very clean, and quaint!
Only things that I would say didn’t make it a five star stay but are so easy to fix were the shower head (I couldn’t wash my hair because it was a mist only) and the blinds in the main bedroom (room was so bright in the morning that it woke me up at 6am).
If those things were fixed I would stay once a year and for longer next time.

Great "Carriage House" cottage for my husband and I!
Perfect location, a bike ride to "downtown" but far enough away to have solitude and privacy! With a view of the water and a pond right at our backdoor, we couldn't have asked for anything more. Spent four nights, and loved every minute!

Quaint & Cute
The property is quaint & cute, with no frills. I did not read the rental agreement completely (my fault!) and forgot sheets and towels so I had to scramble to get those on the island. I brought toilet paper and Lysol wipes but not paper towels and assumed there would be leftovers there and there weren’t. I would just say to be prepared and bring everything! Communication with the hosts was great. When telling a taxi where to go tell them it is the “Sweet Retreat” and to take a left at that fork in the road ;)

Sweet little getaway
We enjoyed our stay here! The owner was very friendly and even called to check in on us to make sure we were comfortable! The place was clean and airy, enjoyed the deck out back. Would stay there again for sure!
